Apre' Ski One Bedroom -Barren Guest Suite
The Barren Guest Suite is located in the Girdwood Valley with glacier and mountain views from the property. The location of this unit is in a quiet neighborhood, very centrally located with access to restaurants, the Alyeska Resort, skiing, hikes, biking or just for a relaxing getaway. This one bedroom, mother in law type suite is perfect for a couple or a small family.
Access to the Suite:
This is an efficient one-bedroom unit on the ground floor within a family home. The host family lives directly above the unit. This is not a shared space, but there are shared walls with the family garage and family laundry room. There are surrounding houses that you can see from the windows within the unit that allow a cozy community feeling.
As you drive up to the house, you will see that our âWelcome Guest Parkingâ sign posted on the right side of the house so you will know where to pull up to. Guests will have this designated parking spot for one or two cars along (parked one in front of the other) the right side of the driveway.
The walkway up to the entrance of the unit is along the right-hand side of the house where the parking sign is. Itâs a rough gravel walkway that follows under the wrap around deck alongside the house. The door is located about 50 ft up the walkway and has a keyless pinpad entry. During the winter months this walkway can start to feel like your own personal a snow tunnel, but in the spring summer and fall you will look to the right and see our expansive yard. You will be provided your entry code the morning of your arrival (or before upon request).
The Suite:
Once inside, you will enter directly into the living room space. This main room has a sofa pullout, TV with free wi-fi. As you walk in a little further you will find a dining table and stackable washer dryer in the closet. The kitchen is just to the side and is stocked with all of the essentials, full sized refrigerator, microwave and oven range. Free fresh ground coffee from a local roaster is provided in a sealed jar the cabinet labeled Coffee/Tea. There is also an extra supply of ground coffee kept in the freezer. There is one full bathroom off of the kitchen with extra towels and amenities (dryer, etc.). The is one bedroom with a queen-sized bed off of the living room space. It has a window and full-sized closet with extra pillows and linens. There is a very cozy radiant heated flooring system throughout the unit.
This one-bedroom mother in law type apartment has its own private entry accessed from the side of the house and is not a shared space. The host family lives full time on site above the suite. There is a locked door in between the washer/ dryer and bathroom doors which is access to the main house. You may hear some noise from the family during your stay (utility's, garage door use, etc.). We do our best to be respectful and keep excess noises to a minimum during your stay.
Cleaning:
All surfaces of the unit are cleaned and sanitized between guest arrivals. Guests also have access to cleaning supplies in unit. Air purifiers are used in between guest stays. We love animals, but are unable to accommodate dogs, cats, and other critters due to allergies/asthma.
