Welcome to our new log home / cabin (1700sf 1-3 bed 2 bath) on a ridge near Lake Superior with easy access to Duluth, Two Harbors and beyond. Great âbase campâ for your time exploring the North Shore or just relaxing with family and friends in your place on private acreage.
IMPORTANT NOTE: To keep rates manageable, the rate here is for the house with just the King bedroom. If you want one or both of the other queen bedrooms (each $50/night), just message us once you're booked and we can easily add them.
The interior of the cabin was created with a labor of love. The wood work is fantastic. Modern ammenties through out the cabin. Clean and well kept. 5 stars. We stayed in late September and were greeted with unusually warm temps for that time of year. Interior cabin temp was 78. Outside was 83. Windows on the main floor were open. No AC on. Flies and lady bugs covered the interior windows. Needless to say, we spent the first hour on fly patrol. No instructions on how to set the ac temp for the cabin. We ended up turning them off and hoping for cooler weather. Luckly we had a fan. While the interior is exceptional. The exterior was in stark contrast. 2/3 stars. The cabin has a urban vibe feel. Something we were trying to escape. The lower entry door has an old piece of scrap wood on the ground to cover the uneven path. A worn out mat greeted visitors. The area directly surrounding the cabin is over grown and not well kept. There was a pile of scrap wood and shingles that had fallen off of the roof laying next to the house. An old bungy cord/clip was tied to the 4x4 pole leading to the door with debris scattered under and around the exterior. (Good thing we didn't have our granddaughter along). There are lake views from the deck if you look hard. The Best lakeview vantage point was up in the loft looking through the windows. You can see the Wisconsin side and ships on a clear day.
Very clean well maintained space. Felt very safe and surrounded by beautiful nature. Great location for exploring the Duluth/two harbors area. Very quiet. Great host experience, very communicative and welcoming.
House was well kept, clean and comfortable, lots of room, hoping to see a bear, but they had other ideas!! Check in was a breeze, kitchen well stocked with utensils, etc. Thanks Chad!
The property manager, Chad, was excellent. Great communication throughout. The cabin was ready for us when we arrived, and it served us well for our stay. We found the accommodations clean and comforrable. For 2 couples it was especially nice - each having their own bathroom. We enjoyed evening meals, over-nights and breakfast at the cabin and spent the days participating in the attractions from the area.
This is a lovely cabin it the woods. Great for families. Multiple bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen. Far enough off the road that it is peaceful and quiet.
This cabin was a fantastic base camp for our family to explore both the north shore and Duluth. The set up worked well for our family using the main bedroom and one of the queen rooms, and we made good use of the kitchen for multiple meals. This cabin is a good distance from the nearest other cabin and gets some nice wildlife views. The owner, Chad, was very responsive and helpful - we had an internet issue and he came right out to provide a solution. We will definitely keep this place on our rotation for future visits!
The cabin provided a great jumping off point for us to spend a weekend on the North Shore with easy access to Duluth as well as further north. The kitchen was great for prepping a few meals and we had plenty of space to relax.
We had a very peaceful stay! The cabin is beautifully done with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We especially enjoyed the gorgeous kitchen and comfortable beds. Very close to Gooseberry Falls, Iona's Beach, Tettegouche State Park, Betty's pies and Duluth along with many other sites and restaurants to explore. Host Chad was very helpful.
The cabin is very cute and very clean. The host made the stay easy and answered all of my questions before our stay too.We saw many deer and played the provided games.
First of all I want to say shame on me and the 2 other couples for not reading the small print. (Not sure but think it was changed after we booked). But all three couples missed that when you book you are only booking the king size bed room which is in the basement and you have to pay more to book the 2 queen size bedrooms which is on the main floor. They stated it was it was not fair to them. Then for it being clean. Yes for the most part it was clean except the windows you look out from the loft were so dirty. And then when we wanted to use the bowls and pans we had to clean them before we used them and believe we are not picky people. (All couples by the way are in our 60s and 70s). Donât plan on doing any yard games. The weeds were right up to the cabin. But the worse thing was is this cabin had water damage in front of both doors to the point of were when you stepped inside the door the floor went down. The sub floor was so rotten to the point of when the guys stepped on it they thought they were going to go threw the floor. I have pictures but not sure how to put them on here. Hopefully things change because it is a nice location. Oh by the way it says it has a hair dryer but we could not find any so make sure to bring your own.
This was a very nice three bedroom home (we used 2 of the bedrooms) and 2 baths. During the day you could hear the cars on the highway but at night it was very peaceful. It was lovely sitting on the deck and turning the fire on. Would stay there again.
