Beautiful cabin on the Paradise Eckerman boarder close to tahquamenon falls. Plenty of parking for snowmobile trailers or side by sides (.5) miles from trails and you can ride from the cabin to the trials, no need to trailer anywhere. There is a 2 night minimum stay. Will sleep 8-9 comfortable. Bedroom #1 has a queen bed, bedroom #2 has a bunk beds that are twins. There is an upstairs loft with 2 more queen beds and a small futon. The Washer and dryer are currently not working. There are close to 100 DVD and VHS tapes available.
The house was adorable and had everything we needed. It was close enough to the activities that we wanted to do - Shipwreck Museum, Tahquamenon Falls and Soo Locks.
This property was a little misleading based on the images. It is very easily missed when driving to it and the grass around the property was quite high so the kids were unable to play outside. The house was not very clean, hundreds of dead bugs all over the home, spiders and ticks through the house, and mouse droppings in the kitchen pots/pans. The tiles surrounding the fireplace were not secured and one was broken which was not ideal with kids. The home did come with lots of toys for the kids which was nice and most of it was baby proofed which was nice. It was a good location in terms of being close to paradise and the falls. The owner did communicate well and check in/out was quite easy.
We had a great time sight seeing the Upper Peninsula in the winter, Our first time in the winter. We really enjoyed the pellet stove. Thank you for letting us stay there. It also was conveniently located for our sight seeing goals.
Lots of sleeping areas, huge amount of DVDs and movies for the kids, very cozy place. Agree that there is no cell service, and also the nearest grocery store is at least 30 minutes away. Very close to Tahquamenon Falls.
Great stay at the house, he had everything handy and ready for your stay. It was in close proximity to Pictured Rocks, Tahquemon, and the Lower Peninsula.
We had a great time during our visit. Kris was very responsive via text when we reached out. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. It would have been nice to have an outside seating area to relax. I do highly recommend this home should you just want to get away and relax in the woods!
First of all, this property is listed as trail rider friendly. The drive in is tight, could stand to trim some branches. Also, the circle drive is only good if you have a short trailer. Ours was 26â with two side by sides. Could not make the turn. Inside was clean for the most part. The bedding did not smell âcleanâ, so our best guess is that it had been awhile since anyone had stayed there. The beds were in sad shape. So soft and sagging that we did not sleep well. The bathroom on the other hand was not clean. The toilet was dirty and had pee all over the rim. We ended up cleaning it ourselves. Yuck! And the towel situation needs addressing. It would not cost that much to buy some decent towels for your guests. There were four of us and just five mismatched old towels. We used one as a bath mat as that was missing. WiFi is a big thing to not have. Again, not that costly to buy a booster. And no cell coverage. ( we laughed as the message on the frig gave us a number to call with any issues. How when there is no cell ?)Overall, a few pretty inexpensive changes could make this place so much better. Oh, and maybe note for side by side riders that they cannot access trails to the north without trailering to a trailhead.
We really enjoyed our stay! Clean and cozy space, with everything needed to make meals etc. We enjoyed cooking over the campfire....a few chairs around the campfire ring would have been nice. It's within easy driving distance of lovely beaches and lakes for fishing, or day trips! Would definitely recommend!
We had a great stay in the U.P. - only drawback was there was no connectivity, but then again it was pretty good to be without the internet for a few days!
Plenty of room, nicely decorated. We missed the internet of course but had family game night. My daughterâs family had the upstairs to themselves. Itâs about 30 miles to the falls or Whitefish point. Nice set up for young children, our grand daughters are older. we had the phone # if we needed anything.
House had everything it needed. We were pleasantly surprised by the toys for our toddler. Easy to find and good base location to see the falls, whitefish point and get to Soo Locks
The home was cozy and close to the falls and other activities we wanted to see. The manager was responsive and helpful with all of our questions. Check in and out was very simple. Having a washing machine in the middle of our trip was ideal and cut down on packing. Without cable and cell service it was a nice unplug as a family we brought games and kids enjoyed the movies at the home. If we were going to the area again we would stay here and recommend it to others.
Stayed here when visiting sites near Paradise (Whitefish Point/Shipwreck Museum, Tahquamenon Falls, Bear Ranch). Very clean and nicely equipped with plenty of space for a family. Nice collection of DVDs. ATT cell service worked. Definitely recommend.
The stay was great! There was no service so we had to drive to service to communicate with the property owner, but it was no problem for us. Allowed us to unplug and spend quality time together. The place was clean and easy to use for all ages. I loved that there was a crib for my baby. Kris is easy to get in touch with and responds quickly.
My family and I enjoyed our 2-night stay. We needed a place to rest before/after the taqua 25k, and this was a great place to do that! We had a 10 month-old and 7 year-old with us, and the house was safe and equipped with lots of toys and baby gear. The house/driveway are difficult to find in the dark, and we didn't have cell phone service to communicate with my late-arriving husband. While the beds were comfy and clean, I will say that dust/dirt in the house was too much for a couple of my family members. Overall, great stay!
House was nice, clean, and cute. It did have a unique smell to it, as if someone had smoked in it in the past. We are not smokers so between maybe that, it being closed up, and having pets in it in the past we thought the smell was off. Once we had windows open it aired out ok, plus I had a diffuser going so that helped too. Location was good for our trip. Owner made sure to communicate if something was not working, which was super nice. Overall we liked it, and would recommend it đ
The house was comfortable. Had a hard time with the heat. Bathroom extremely small. Washer did not work. Would have been nice to have more seats around the fire pit than 3 stumps of wood. Ran out of hot water in the evening
