Welcome to your private slice of the Crystal Coast! Cassimir West, offered by Crystal Shoals Vacation Rentals, is an oceanfront half duplex offering breathtaking, unobstructed North Carolina ocean views. Located in Spinnakers Reach on Emerald Isle, the westernmost island of Bogue banks, this recently renovated duplex offers the best of both tranquility and convenience. We hope you will consider Cassimir for you next beach getaway.

On the main level, you'll enjoy an open floor plan, perfect for entertaining with lots of natural light. Take in the ocean views while you prepare a meal in our updated kitchen or forego the dishes and enjoy take-out on the over-sized table with room enough for ten. Once dinner is complete, walk out on the large, private deck to take in the sunset or stroll down our boardwalk to the beach. Wash your feet off in the private outdoor shower, located below the main level deck.

Back on the main level, you'll find a bunk room with four twin beds, perfect for younger guests or those young-at-heart. Upstairs, our guests have the option of a king suite with a private balcony and bathroom with a jetted tub or two other additional bedrooms. The first, a king room, also features a private balcony with ocean views. This room shares a full bath with the third bedroom, complete with two double beds.

The ground floor features a finished garage complete with air conditioning, pool table, couch, tables and chairs, and television - a perfect additional entertainment space.

We are available via text, phone, or email.

Great House

My family enjoyed a wonderful week at the beach staying at Cassimir West. The location of the neighborhood can't be beat as it's close to restaurants, grocery stores and the cute town of Swansboro. The house being right on the beach provides excellent views and you can be on the sand in no time. It was a great stay for both the kids and adults and we hope to return one day.

Winter escape

House was as listed: well appointed, very nice main room, great ocean views, nice quiet neighborhood, comfortable beds and chairs, fully equipped kitchen. Would definitely stay here again. Hosts were easily accessible and helpful.

Beautiful with small flaws

The property was gorgeous, we loved the house and had a great time. Stunning beach! We even saw deer and a beautiful rabbit, very unusual to see wildlife at the beach. Things not listed in the details: there is a whistle buoy right offshore that makes an eerie sound 24/7, in pretty frequent intervals. You become accustomed to it but not ideal. The WiFi has a sign in required, which is a little intrusive and prevents things like Google Chromecast from being used. And just a heads up, the kids bedroom is on the first floor and the rest of the bedrooms are upstairs, you can figure that out from the listing but it's worth thinking about ahead of time.

Great home great location

A wonderful home to host a large family gathering. House isn’t perfect, but it still gets a 5-star review because it’s so comfortable and laid out very nice for a large group. Very family friendly. The downstairs area for the kids is great. Beach is perfect.

This was an ideal spot for a beach vacation. Everything one would need was available with lots of space for the 6 of us. Any questions were answered promptly by Paige. Will be looking forward to booking for next year.

Great Location for Beach Getaway

This duplex was located right on the beach! From the living room you could see the ocean. The unit was spacious and had a well stocked kitchen. The downstairs garage was converted into a billiard room and we loved spending time down there in the evenings. If you are looking for a house right on the ocean this is the place for you!

Vacation July 2023

Great location! Nice neighborhood, oceanfront and short walk to pool ( which could have been kept a little cleaner) House was beautiful and kitchen had everything we needed ( one more big pot would be useful) You have to go outside to get to game room, which would be fine if kids are older. We had some plumbing issues ( which happens) and owners were very responsive and sent someone out quickly. Great vacay!

Very nice VBRO!

The property is perfectly located on the Emerald Coast in a lovely, quiet neighborhood and on the beachfront with magnificent views. The owner was extremely responsive to our few queries. Be warned, however, that the stairs are steep for an elderly person so plan on anyone who can't manage stairs well to use the bedroom on the lower floor. Parking is also tight but manageable. Overall very highly recommended. Thank you!

On the Beach

Overall a nice place to stay. Right on the beach. House was clean. There was a knocking noise 2 of the three days we were there that could be heard all day and night long in the downstairs bedroom and two upstairs bedrooms, but we could not pinpoint what was making the noise. Kitchen was stocked ok, large tables was nice. Major draw back was the only way to get to the game room was to go outside.

Beautiful! Great place on the beach!

Kyle & Paige are amazing! Very quick to respond! Checked on us when there was a storm and brief power outage. Kept us updated and answered all questions timely. We had never been to Emerald Isle, and we found this house to be perfect for us! Right on the beach! Nice sun decks to sit on. Plenty of sleeping space for all 10 of us! We will definitely go back!

Great Place

Wonderful place right on the beach. Two families with kids stayed for a week. The house and it’s location was great. Easy Access to the grocery store about miles away an in a closed community with no busy roads. We enjoyed mornings and evenings on the back deck overlooking the ocean. Everything was clean on arrival and the house was generally new with just the normal wear found in any beach house rental. We cooked all our meals and the kitchen was well stocked with cookware, utensils, etc to cook and feed for 10. The community pool was also an easy walk. We found a few issues with the house, but the owners and property manager were very quick to respond and did a great job making things right with very little disruption to our vacation. One minor thing which we discovered while there was that the community beach access for Spinnaker’s Reach was a few houses away, so this section of beach would get a bit crowded mid-day (around 12:00 to 3:00). But since this house had direct and easy access, we never had an issue claiming a spot. I would recommend this place and would certainly stay here again. Thanks Kyle and Paige!

Successful two family beach trip

This property was the first beach front property we've rented, and the benefits of being on the beach, namely the ability to have kids and family go back and forth without the need to pack everything back up or feel any pressure to bring everything out in one trip, were really nice. Communications with the owners and the managers were prompt. The proximity of the community pool, and the "turtle sanctuary" - check out the local pedestrian bridge near by - were greatly appreciate by the youngest in our group. The house itself was more than adequate, with lovely deck space, and a converted garage to an oversized play room outfitted with a large screen tv and pool table - also appreciated by the kids and parents alike. It would have been nice to have a second dishwasher, or a table on the main deck for outdoor eating, and there were a few small things that were broken or cracked, but nothing that limited our enjoyment of the space or the beach. We'd reserve the house again in the future.

A beautiful and quiet house on the beach

We loved our stay at the house on the beach with four generations! The full bath downstairs and great beds worked out great for great grandma (recognize that you are not going to find a house on the beach with a first floor bedroom so one flight of stairs isn't bad). Great views and a family that really cares about their guests (received multiple texts to help make sure that all was well). We will be back!

We purchased Cassimir in 2021, hoping for more time in the sand and sunshine with our crew. As a military family, we've moved a lot and have lived in plenty of coastal towns, but we decided to put down some roots here in Emerald Isle. Kyle grew up nearby and spent lots of time on these beaches as kid, while Paige lived in Colorado and spent more time in the snow. Owning a beach house has been a long-time dream of ours and we're so excited to share our home with you during your stay. You might leave with a little sand, but we hope you also leave with plenty of wonderful memories!

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Our properties are named after some of the hundreds of shipwrecks in the shallow waters off the coast of the North Carolina barrier islands. In February of 1942, Captain J.A. Bodman and his crew of 36 left Santiago, Cuba reroute back to Baltimore in the 390’ transport ship, Cassimir, after unloading molasses to be used in the rum-making process. On the morning of February 26, 1942, the Cassimir was moving through a dense fog about 50 miles east of the tip of Frying Pan Shoals. Also moving through the fog was the freighter, Lara. The ships were unable to change course and the bow of the Lara ran full speed into the starboard side of the Cassimir at amidships. Two lifeboats were launched and all but six of the crew were rescued by the Lara. The Cassimir floated North for several hours before sinking approximately 40 miles east of the Masonboro Inlet. Today, the Cassimir, also known as the WR-2 wreck, is one of the prettiest dive sites on the North Carolina coast.
