Country home in a park-like setting, perfect for private enjoyment.
An historic farmhouse on 3 acres of meadow gardens and woods, with views of the open farm fields and the Berkshire mountains. A private pool, 55 feet long, and a picnic table. One mile from the Hudson River, for walking, biking and boating. Four miles from historic Kinderhook village, with a farmers market and excellent bakery and restaurants, and a unique public museum for contemporary art. Ideal for 3 guests -- one full master bed, 1 single bed in small guest room. Can accommodate 2 more using full sofa bed in kitchen.
The 1840s farmhouse is utterly charming and filled with books, art, antiques and interesting objects. The grounds are beautiful and the pool was a highlight of our stay. We had a mechanical issue that has since been resolved but my reason for mentioning it is Randy and Joeâs gracious responsiveness in dealing with it. Randy also provided us with lots of valuable information about area resources and attractions. The master bedroom is the only room with an air conditioner and the house lacks updates such as a dishwasher, but I believe the rental rate reflects this so I have not deducted any stars on account of it.
Randall and Josef are wonderful hosts and were responsive throughout our stay. The land is beautiful. The house is rustic and you should understand your comfort level of the features in the description.
