The Cabin on Current River with Private Gravel Bar!!
Located on the banks of the beautiful Current River just upstream from Van Buren Missouri. You'll fall in love with the gorgeous views of the crystal-clear waters of Current River, which is one of the prettiest spring fed rivers around. This newly remodeled home sits on a bluff overlooking the scenic Current River that kept it out of the historic flood in 2017. You are nice walk or short drive to the 550 feet of private gravel bar!
The perfect property to be secluded and enjoy peace and quiet

Due to a situation beyond the property owners control we werenât able to stay at the original cabin but they acted quickly and moved us to another.
Great service and we had a great time.
This is a beautiful property with a stunning view of the river! Itâs set up high on a hill with a accessible area to the river just a bit down the road. Fit comfortably a group of 10 adults. Owner was great to work with and just over all highly recommend booking!
We had a great time. Gravel Bar is definitely a plus, we fished, floated and strolled alot. Current river is a blast! We did the 10 mile float and loved it. Communication w/ Manager was fast and quick. You can not tell you are 10 minutes from town, secluded and you can see the beautiful stars.
Our group of 9 stayed here for 3 days. Absolute blast of a time! Access to the river is kind of off-roady so make sure you arenât driving your lowered Honda Civic down there. The hosts are awesome, they answered all of our questions in a timely manner and got us supplies when we were running low. Iâll definitely come back here if I make another trip to Van Buren.
Cabin appeared to be an older updated River Cabin, but had newer Appliances, furniture, fixtures and paint. The moth ball smell was 'overwhelming' until we aired it out. It overlooks the river, with a beautiful view. Unless you plan a little hike, you'll want to drive down to the river and fire pit. Might be a little challenging for a small vehicle. Our stay was to kayak, parked a truck at the cabin landing and had no problems. Would deffinatley recommend, plenty of room and totally enjoyed or stay.
Ideal for family with children, lots of room to entertain themselves while adults downstairs. Location is a secluded area, so nice and peaceful! Uncomfortable beds and furnishings! Good towels! 2 NICE bathrooms. Difficult with lights-had to turn a bulb on and off by hand. Might want to label light switches and the hot/cold sink handles in bottom bathroom.
Kitchen could use nicer pots, pans, and dishes.
We would definitely stay again. Did I mention the outdoor shower! A big thank you for allowing us a little later check out so we could enjoy a morning birthday celebration!!
It would be nice to have a house number on the house to make sure it is the correct house. also the directions say to look for a sign stating Riverfront Rentals was not on the road .
We had a great time while at this cabin. The AC was a little wonky figuring out upstairs, but worked in the end. To get to the gravel bar is about a .5 mile journey, not too bad except for the steepish hill made of gravel. It was a little slippery walking down to the bar, but possible. Down at the bar there was standing water which had a lot of insects that did attack us. I don't advise a night gravel bar hang out.
The house smelled kind of like moth balls. When we got home, our stuff and pillows we brought smelled like moth balls as well for a couple weeks.
All in all, it was a great place to have, just a few minor things we had issues with.
House - great (except for upstairs bathroom door)
Grounds - all gravel, steep, no grass or play area
Fire Pit - none (there was a fire ring by the gravel bar, but not convenient for evening campfires)
Gravel bar - excellent (but not a short walk- had to drive on terrible road each time)
Internet - spotty at best
Smart TV - I donât think so! Reception was terrible
Our family loves to play games but the only table was on the deck that has no fan or lights. When we go to the Current, we always have campfires and sâmores. Didnât this year because we all would have to have packed the wood and fixings for the bumpy ride down to the fire ring and then all gone back to the house at the same time. No hanging out for those late night embers. We will always return to the Current but not at this place.
Location is very misleading. No access to river from property. Must drive down road. Premises not very clean. Couches dirty and stained, refrigerator not very cool, door lock broken, Kitchen needs a major upgrade of dishes, utensils. Very musty and smelly. Will not be back. Way over priced!
The photos online are deceiving. The scenery is beautiful but the cabin is quite a hike to the river. Once you get down there, you have to climb down a mud drop off or walk a bit down river to a small gravel ramp. We were planning to set chairs in the river and enjoy but that wasnât possible at this location. The cabin has nice, new clean floors, the beds were clean and comfortable and the bathroom was adequate. The door on the cabin did not lock as the door frame was completely broken. The cabin is quite old and run down but that didnât keep us from enjoying our weekend with family. We felt duped after seeing the cabin in person vs the online photos.
This property was absolutely gorgeous & the owner Wesley & his family were amazing, always willing to help us out & there when we needed them! I will say the gravel bar is further away than expected so be sure to bring a wagon to haul stuff down to it. Other than that itâs the perfect little get away & us girls had a blast!
This property is secluded and a great place to enjoy the quietness and peacefulness away from the city. It overlooks the current river and the short walk (or drive)) to the gravel bar was nice to enjoy the current river and its scenery. The place had all that you need for your weekend getaway. It was clean, had all the amenities you need (even an instapot!), TV and games for your enjoyment. Nice place for a weekend getaway.
Awesome rehab by hosts of older cabin. Great views of River with easy (with an SUV) access of excellent sand bar on Current for all day lounging. Van Buren very close, as are several must see National Park springs.
The cabin was large and very close to current river. It was a short drive down the hill to get to the gravel bar on the river. Cabin was recently remodeled and finishing touches are still underway.
Had a wonderful time at this property. The property is a perfect set up for a group or family. Our only complaint is the lack of maintenance. The back deck had metal flashing that was turned up and wood was splintered in different areas. These seemed like a true accident waiting to happen. The home seemed to need a good "debugging" and cleaning from that. Other than this, loved our stay. Beds were clean and crisp and very comfortable. View was beautiful. Home was well stocked with lines, soaps, etc. We would definitely stay again, but would suggest a bug bomb between stays and the maintenance items above. Management was GREAT to communicate with.
Beautiful up and coming cabin with gorgeous view of the river. Very off the beaten path but worth the drive down a few gravel backroads. Would suggest not driving up on motorcycles or in cars that sit extremely low to the ground.
Will definitely look back into renting but will bring an ATV of some sort next time to be able to enjoy the riverfront.
We love that we are able to share our cabin with others. Growing up on the river fishing, tubing, and kayaking brought great memories to our family. This property provides endless amounts of fun with the seclusion from being in the middle of town!
