Clean and Comfortable

The unit was nicely decorated, clean, and with good amenities. Host was responsive and professional. As others have noted, the long uneven driveway and upstairs noise aren't perfect but it's a fine and affordable rental overall.

Near disaster

If it wasn’t for the lovely homeowner who saved the day, we would have been shelter-less for our 2 night stay. Vrbo host did not respond to repeated requests for information, was unreachable, the unit was not clean on arrival, never did receive any apology or explanation or communication for that matter from the host. Vrbo needs to do better vetting of these slum hosts.

We’re very sorry for the confusion and the inconvenience you experienced. Unfortunately, there was a glitch between the VRBO and Airbnb calendars, and a last-minute booking came through that overlapped with an existing Airbnb reservation. We normally have a 24-hour minimum between guests to allow for proper cleaning and preparation. Our previous Airbnb guest had just checked out the same day, and we hadn’t had the chance to clean the unit before your arrival. My wife was in communication with you and, understanding the situation, she offered to let you in early. You chose to stay, and as a gesture of goodwill, we refunded 50% of your stay instead of canceling the reservation entirely. We appreciate your understanding and are working to ensure better syncing between platforms to prevent this from happening again. Thank you again, and we’re glad we were able to assist during your visit.

Perfect location for out needs.

We were having a family reunion in town and needed a place for 2 more people. This place was perfect. Great location, very clean, comfortable bed and free Wi-Fi. It was a little difficult to find, but the owners pictures made it easier. Previous reviews talk about a really steep driveway, but I think they exaggerate that a bit. Yes, the last bit of the driveway down to the entrance is a bit steep, but not impossible to negotiate. Owner always communicated quickly when we had a question. Only negative was the ad said Tesla charger which had not been installed yet. Would definitely stay again,

Fictitious pet

Everything in the unit was exactly as explained. The stay was very nice, and we enjoyed ourselves greatly. Upon leaving the unit we cleaned up, emptied all the garbage and even recycled. I received a text from the owner falsely, accusing us of having a dog inside the unit. He stated the dog Defecated all over area rugs in the unit. We do not own a dog. I did not have a dog in the unit at all. He claimed he is going to file a claim with the insurance company to replace the rugs that were damaged by this fictitious dog. If there is a claim filed with the insurance company for this fictitious dog, I would like VRBO to investigate.

Santa Barbara Thanksgiving Trip

It would be helpful to include that there is a steep driveway to get to the property. We came for bike riding and had to leave the bikes in the car as we weren't going to ride the bikes over the uneven driveway. When we accessed the property there was feces in the toilet and on some paper in the bathroom trash. The room could use a few more amenities such as dish soap for the kitchen to wash dishes up and maybe a few more kitchen items, glassware and more utensils. The refrigerator had some personal items in it. The description of the property should explain there is only a small room heater as well and that the property is in the basement of a home where there is occupancy so there are no surprises. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay at the property. It was, for the most part, very clean and cute. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your property.

Last resort

If this is your last resort and everything else is booked, then stay, if not, go elsewhere. We arrived post the check in time and we were less than greeted by the wife of the host. She aggressively told my daughter “ I thought you weren’t going to be here until later today or tomorrow. That’s what my husband said and he’s traveling” I then intervened and stated I had a confirmation for Fri-Sun. She then said “come back in a couple of hours”. Cons: Very loud stomping could be heard early morning and evening from up stairs. VERY LOUD Parking is treacherous to get to and dangerous. We have a large truck and we needed our 4x4 function to go up the parking trail to the home. A sedan will get ruined! The A/c blows out warm air on one side and cool air on the other. T/V only works with the guest respective log in Pros: Espresso maker (no cream or sugar provided ) Plenty of towels Comfortable bed Overall, a clean studio
