Welcome to Swan Cottage, a charming coastal bohemian escape from the 1930s, where you and your family can bask in a true laid-back Tybee vibe! Step inside this vintage abode and be transported to a relaxed world that embraces the essence of Tybee Island.

As you enter the first level of this two-story home, you'll find yourself in a cool and breezy living room, inviting you to unwind and embrace the coastal ambiance. The fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and a convenient office nook can also be found on this level, providing all the comforts of home. An additional full bathroom completes this welcoming space.

To access the four bedrooms and two full baths of the home, ascend a small outdoor screened-in staircase, leading you to the second floor. The first bedroom features a king bed, with access to the porch. The second bedroom also offers a king bed, and an ensuite bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower. The two remaining bedrooms are both fitted with two twin beds, perfect for traveling singles or children! Additionally on the second floor, the wrap-around boho-style porch awaits, providing a delightful setting for al fresco dining for six and ample seating for ten, perfect for sharing cherished moments with your loved ones.

For your convenience, the home's washer and dryer are conveniently located on the first floor, ensuring ease during your stay. An outdoor enclosed full bathroom, situated under the carport, adds to the practicality and comfort of this enchanting cottage.

But the real highlight of Swan Cottage is its breathtaking views of the Atlantic, among the best on the island. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the ocean, and let the soothing waves and gentle sea breeze create an unforgettable vacation experience.

Swan cottage

Great location. Clean. Well equipped kitchen which we used. Great vintage home of the 1930s which fortunately hasn't been gutted. Appreciated the history. Spectacular wrap around porch which we loved. Short walk to beach, inlet or ocean. Very comfortable bedrooms and beds. Loved the decor and all the books and art. Thanks!

Great Time at Tybee!!

The “view” is the best way to describe this home. It’s has an amazing one of the the Tybee back river. It’s a truly authentic Tybee cottage, run well by the management folks, and made for a memorable experience. Many thanks! Will be back!

Best “Home” on Tybee Island!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Swan Cottage is our absolute favorite vacation home we have ever stayed. It wraps you in so much comfortable warmth and so welcoming. Every night we would gather on the huge porch or walk out to the beach to watch the most incredible sunsets each night. The porch was also where we would have family dinner at the large dining table. We have been vacationing on Tybee Island for the past 12 years. The past two years we were fortunate to stay here. This home is by far our favorite and hope to continue revisiting each year. It is the one time of year that we get to see our other 3 couples that get together for our annual Tybee vacation. All are from different states so it is perfect to have found a place that brings us together and to make lasting memories. This home will always bring a smile to my face and we already are excited for next summer. Thank you so much for opening up your beautiful beach home to us!

Fabulous location and porch!

We really liked the location of this house. When you walk over the dunes, there is a sandy beach on the inlet. This is a beautiful place to sit and watch the sunset and that is what we did daily. We also loved the porch. It is a big screened in porch with a beautiful view. It is a great place to have morning coffee. The house is an old history home with lots of charm. We loved exploring the home. The layout of the home is a bit unusual. There are no indoor stairs, you have to go outside to go up to the second floor bedrooms. I love that the rental provides towels and sheets as well as bar soap and a roll of paper towels and toilet paper in each bathroom. The house has some basic low beach chairs, if you want taller or adjustable chairs you may want to bring your own. The location of the house is walkable to the little “downtown area”. But it is quiet and residential. The walk is not far to go to the Oceanside beach. I would love to stay at this home again.

Charming Island Getaway

The home which was on the Southern end of the Island where the river met the ocean was the perfect location. The river side was calmer with no waves which made for easy floating and kayaking. The ocean side was only a few hundred yards away where we could play in the surf and my daughter tried surfboarding. The home had a huge screened in porch with room for everyone to spread out. The view was magnificent and it was a very short walk to the beach. The home was very comfy with four bedrooms and three baths. The kitchen was a little small but well equipped with everything we needed. The decorations and ambience were very vintage and unique and I felt like I was in a special place. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip!

Great Stay on Chatham

This was our 3rd time staying here and its all about the location being right on the back river dunes with views of the river meeting the Atlantic. The historic house is truly wonderful as if walking back in time with a large second story screen porch. While a bit dated it has all the modern day comforts and any deficiencies are made up by the view and location

Loved it!!!!

I loved the house and especially the porch. It was so relaxing sitting on the porch and looking out over the water. Several nights it stormed and we were able to sit on the porch and listen to the rain and watch the lightning. We spent most our time at the beach or on the porch. The town area and pavilion was within walking distance to shop or get ice cream. The town was very clean and I felt safe walking anywhere. We had best of both worlds - the relaxing river and the ocean waves. Savannah is not far and easy to get to. The Crab Shack was a very short distance to drive to and had great food.

Best Vacation Cottage and View!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Out of all the vacation homes that we have stayed in on Tybee Island, Swan Cottage is definitely the best!! We vacation to Tybee Island every summer with friends from 3 different states. We always look forward for our “friends” reunion and this spot made it even better. It had plenty of room for all of us and the porch was our favorite part of the home. We ate dinner every night at the huge 8-10 person table on the porch with the most amazing sunsets! In the mornings we all met on the porch to have coffee and look at the beautiful view of the calm backwater. The beds and linens were sooooo comfortable and I actually ordered the sheets that were on our bed! The kitchen was well stocked and had updated appliances(even a mini fridge on the porch). The full bath downstairs on the ground level was great for rinsing off and coming up from the beach. The path to the beach was so convenient too. There were so many memories made and we are already trying to book it for next year!

The porch! The view! The location!

We spent our annual girls weekend at this amazing Tybee house. The pictures really don’t do it justice. This house is very vintage- but in the best of ways. With the privacy and direct access to the beach you feel like you have stepped back into the 1960s. It feels like you are staying at a beach house that’s been in your family for years- it does not feel like a rental. I thought having the kitchen and living room not connected through an internal staircase would be a problem - but it wasn’t! We made meals in the kitchen and brought them on to the glorious porch. The porch is really everything! I wish we could make this our annual go-to place every year! I definitely want to come back. Also the communication with the rental company was fabulous. I can’t say enough nice things about this magical cottage. It’s actually so refreshing to have a galley kitchen with old school cabinets- we are all so used to the completely renovated beach homes these days- but I’ll take this vintage beauty all day long! This was a perfect reunion spot for a group of life long friends!

Great stay and enjoyed it

The property was perfect for our family. The large screened in porch was just fantastic for the family either to relax or play games. The access to the water was great calm waters by the property and a short walk so the grandson could ride the waves on the other side. Would highly recommend this property. Jim was on top of the only problem we had and had it fixed in a timely manner. Great time!

The porch is everything!

What you see in the pictures is exactly what you will find when you arrive at the home. You are staying in a vintage cottage on the beach that has all the characteristics of a home that has been used for over fifty years. The porch upstairs is the place to be to watch the sunset or just watch the wind blow the sea oats on the dunes. Helpful information to know that is not readily available through the listing: The lower level contains the kitchen, living/dining area, a full bath inside off the living room and a full bath accessible only from the upstairs. All four bedrooms are upstairs. The main bedroom has a king size bed and private bathroom. The second bedroom with a king bed is entered through a door from the porch or through a Jack and Jill bath that connects the room to the inside hallway where the other two bedrooms are located. Those bedrooms share either that bathroom or will need to use the other bathroom off the main bedroom or use the two bathrooms downstairs. Cell phone connectivity downstairs is sketchy and calls are best made and received outside on the porches. We enjoyed our stay (the porch!!!!) and would love to stay again.

I rented Swan Cottage about 35 years ago for $1,000 a month. I loved it so much that when i developed "cabin fever" at home I decided this cottage would be the best one to escape to.
