Hello, and Welcome to Camp Sassy! Feel free to use all our amenities in the kitchen. Our water comes from a Dug Well, but it is filtered and sanitized via a UV light from Culligan, and the water has been tested bacteria free and safe for consumption. Be that as it may, we still offer premium spring water in the water cooler that gets delivered from Culligan, feel free to drink that and use for cooking and coffee or tea!

There is WiFi, the password is hanging on the closet (closet is owners’ closet and remains locked) We have RING cameras on the lights outside the house, there are NO cameras or “listening devices” inside the camp. There are (2) two Televisions, both equipped with Netflix, HBO MAX, Disney+, ESPN+, The Roku Channel, and Amazon Prime. There is a lock preventing any purchasing of content. Outside there is our Fire pit there are many places close by that sell wood of you need it. Also, we have a propane gas grill for you to enjoy, you may need to use a match to light it.

Please use 2 black garbage cans outside for your garbage and all recyclables can go in the black can labeled recyclable. There are extra garbage bags under the kitchen sink. The Dock is down Thompson rd. (Apr 430 feet away) and the steps are at the end of the rd. to the right. This is a great place to swim or fish. Also, the Caroga Lake State campground is just over a mile away at 3043 NY-29A, Gloversville, NY 12078 where you can enjoy a bath house with showers, a sandy beach, and Charcoal BBQ grills. Also, in the opposite direction there is Pine Lake beach, but they do charge admission per person.

Walk to the lake from this off lake cottage! This Adirondack sided cottage has new windows, an updated kitchen and bath. There is plenty of living space a large room currently the dining room. A wood stove accents the living room area with sliding glass doors. Upstairs is a large bedroom and a 2nd walk-thru bedroom. There is a propane wall heater and this cottage is fully insulated from floor to ceiling. The shared lake access is a short walk away, it is a slope down to a dock, use of row boat provided.

There is a newly renovated Caroga Bike trail, plenty of hiking trails close by, and close to bars and restaurants. Also, in the Summer on Friday nights we are a mile away from the Rodeo

There is no 'beach' area. If you want to play on a beach you can go over and enjoy the NYS Caroga Lake Campground beach! and have a sandy beach with life guard, BBQ grills, bath houses and a beautiful area to relax for the day. The campground has a boat launch and they also Rent boats! Nick Stoner Golf course is just up the road, miles of hiking trails along with skiing, snowmobiling and fishing year round! Come play in the Adirondacks, with our 4 seasons of outdoor pursuits in Caroga Lake

Perfect Getaway

Wonderful little house. Beautifully decorated. Access to water. Air conditioned upstairs and down so comfortable at all times. Perfect for a small family.

Camp sassy

Great little camp but kitchen not very well equipped for cooking at home for your family. Lack of cookware made for a difficult situation. Also the picture of camp sassy misleads you to believe the dock is on the property which it wasn't. All the TV channels listed on vrbo with camp sassy didn't work almost all 4 nights there. Was alot less than advertised in ad. Great bunch of people who own camps around there though.

Camp Sassy

Very pleased with overall stay. Having linens & towels provided were a big help. Ample fire wood is also provided. An item to take note of, the stairs to the sleeping area are quite steep & the bathroom is on the first floor. If you have mobility difficulties or small children this could be problematic.

Great Long Weekend

Our family had a wonderful weekend at Camp Sassy. As soon as you walk in the door, it feels like you know where everything is. There's not much guess work, just like walking into your own home. Great space for our family of five. The kids enjoyed swimming and fishing on the dock almost everyday. Second time visiting Caroga and it didn't disappoint.

Had a really nice family trip!

Had a great time. The cabin is very clean and smelled amazing throughout. There’s no yard really and the grill could be replaced. We were excited to grill out but this one was old and rusty. The cabin was overall great and we loved the dock within close proximity. The culligan water was very much used by us. The tvs with different streaming apps was nice for our toddler.

Peaceful

We booked this last minute when we realized we wouldn’t have any kids for Memorial Day weekend and am so happy we did. Everything was exactly what we needed it to be. I can imagine the stairs to the loft might be an issue for some people but we didn’t have any problems with it. The terrain of the path to the shared dock was a bit rough especially if you have your hands full but pretty much what one should expect in the Adirondacks. We loved everything about this place and would definitely be booking again.

A true Adirondack Camp experience. Camp Sassy

Great furniture, kitchen, beds, fixtures, nice bathroom, great water pressure and heat for in tub shower. Excellent new 5 burner grill. Super outdoor fireplace & hardware to go with it. Adirondack chairs were perfect and picnic table for 6+ was sturdy. Great feature for outdoor extension of living space is a screen house with solid roof and new screens 144 sq. Ft. Security is good and well lighted front of cabin. TV’s and streaming programs were nice.

Cozy lake cabin

Nice cabin within walking distance of lake access. Nicely decorated with Adirondack theme. Easement to lake needs a Camp Sassy sign. Upstairs needs a gate to close at top for safety, especially during the night- no matter what age you are. Kitchen towels and more hand towels are nice too. Overall, very comfortable though for 87 to 9. Thank you

Nice Camp

We had a very good stay at Camp Sassy for two weeks in August. While the weather could have been better (rain, rain, rain), we enjoyed our stay. We had a couple of issues with the plumbing in the camp, but the owner was very quick to respond and arranged for a plumber to get them fixed. We appreciated his response. We rented a pontoon boat from the Caroga Lake Marina, and the marina was kind enough to let our grandson dock his jet ski at the marina for two weeks, as a "Camp Sassy discount". Our only complaint is that the waterfront is difficult to get to, as the "trail" is on a hill and was washed out by recent rains. Plus there was a pontoon boat docked there that never moved for the entire two weeks, and we had no place to dock our rental pontoon. Thankfully the Caroga Lake Marina let us keep the boat at one of their slips, which is only a couple miles away. All-in-all we enjoyed our stay.

Cabin

Cute cabin. Lots of sleeping space. Nice kitchen and bathroom. Nice additional glamper space. Lots of firewood and good outdoor campfire space. The dock is very hard to get to, down some crazy stairs and root-filled, rock-strewn, steep path. We didn’t use it very much because it was too stressful. We drove to the campground to fish, swim, and kayak. It’s $8 for a day pass. There isn’t a washer or dryer at the cabin. That made it hard, especially since there weren’t enough kitchen towels or bathroom washcloths. Usually I just do laundry and don’t worry about how many towels and washcloths are provided, but it felt like we had to ration our towels and washcloths. There were no kitchen washcloths, I got some from Dollar General. There were only three rolls of toilet paper provided. Luckily, Dollar General is close by. Overall, the hosts are helpful and friendly and quick to respond, the cabin was affordable, and I love Caroga Lake, so it was a good week.

Cute little cottage!

Our stay was great and the cabin was very functional, however the cabin is not where it was originally listed as being located when we made the reservation. Our original search indicated the cabin was .2 miles from a family's cabin, but in reality upon receipt of the address, it turned out to be 8 miles away.

Close to many local attractions including walking distance to a speak easy and semi -private lake access. Also, we are a stone throw away from the snowmobile trail entrance your gateway to the Adirondack trails on Morey Rd, less then 1/4 mile from our driveway!
