You’ll find paradise at RODANTHE PARADISE. This 5,340 sq. ft. home has everything to make your vacation perfect. Laze in the pool while you watch the sea oats sway in the breeze. When it’s time to go inside, from the pool to the game room, just up a small flight of stairs. Play a game of pool or make a quick snack at the wet bar with a full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and sink. A semi-private media den is just off the game room. Relax in a plush chair or couch while a movie plays on the large TV with surround sound. Don’t worry about falling asleep, three bedrooms share this level as well. Tuck the kids into a bunk room with a pyramid bunk with a trundle that shares a Jack and Jill bath with a king bedroom. The final bedroom, another bunk room with a pyramid bunk with a trundle will share the hall bath. Just up the stairs, on the second level, is four master king beds, each with a private attached bath, one bath is handicap friendly. Step out to the spacious deck and enjoy a quiet moment in the hot tub with a view of the beach and Rodanthe Pier.
The final, third level, of the home has the great room, cozy and coastal-themed to spark the vacation mood. Settle in to talk about the day around the TV with surround sound and a DVD player. The kitchen is perfect for a large family vacation; well-appointed with dual ovens, two dishwashers, and a wine cooler. The head of the family has the perfect top-level expansive king master to retire to for a good night’s sleep. Complete with an attached private bath with a double vanity and a tile shower. Walk out to the deck and go up the short stairs to the top look-out deck. Relax on the bench and people watch the beach. Paradise is easy to find at RODANTHE PARADISE. (fireplace in photos not for guest use)

New for 2023: New owners have made extensive upgrades to the property including a new sectional in the great room that the whole family will enjoy. Days spent outside are made even better by a new hot tub as well as additional pool and deck furniture! The game room features a new sofa and new basketball arcade game. All beds are equipped with new mattresses and quilts. Updated art and décor throughout.

*Please note that this property has a pool that can be heated for $600. Pool heaters, when pool heat is purchased, are set to 80 degrees, but pool temperature cannot be guaranteed.

Perfect family getaway
Our family ranged in age from 74 to 17. Everyone had their own room and bathroom - privacy when needed but a lovely living area for family gatherings. The kitchen was a cook’s dream, and luckily we had wonderful cooks with us who thoroughly enjoyed that dream kitchen to the delight of the rest of us. The decking was terrific as it allowed us to sit and watch the sunrises and sunsets and to enjoy the beach scenes. There were ample opportunities for wildlife viewing - we even watched a doe as she foraged along the dune one evening. The pier offered live music several nights while we were there, and we could usually hear the music from our decks. The general consensus among all ages was that this was a terrific family vacation and should become a tradition!

Lovely home
We had a lovely visit. The house is great. It could use more seating by the pool and more glass wear and dishes ( not nearly enough for the number of occupants) but we brought paper plates with us so it worked out. The house has plenty of pots/pans which was appreciated. The bedrooms are fine, plenty big enough, but consider bringing your own blankets. The washing machines were a very nice surprise, 2 of each. The outdoor gas grill also needs attention. Glad we brought our own (as a backup, ended up only using our grill). Location couldn’t be better, right on the beach. It was an easy walk and not crowded. Be careful of the local restaurants, we were surprised by how many were closed in the middle of the week. Had to scramble to find someplace open that could accommodate our party (ended up doing take out bc no one could fit us). Would absolutely rent this home again!

Nightmares in Rodanthe
Where to begin…, 1. Dirty, wet socks on outdoor stairwell 2. Pool full of sand and dead bugs 3. Not enough towel sets for all guests 4. Air conditioning not working on 3rd floor 5. Black mold on ceilings, ventilation ducts, bed and furniture surfaces on whole 3rd floor. Very strong mold smells. 4 of 13 guests departed on 3rd day due to mold allergies. When we reported the mold to maintenance on day of arrival along with need for air conditioning repair we were told they did not want to discuss the mold. The next day the office said they would send someone to clean as much mold as possible but no one ever came to do anything about the mold even after numerous attempts to report. 6. Upon arrival, there was a pair of excrement stained ladies underwear in a bedroom closet. 7. The elevator stopped working on Sunday. My elderly, disabled mother was stuck on the 4th floor of the house since she uses a wheelchair. We contacted emergency maintenance line twice and we were told someone would call us within 20 minutes. No return phone call until my wife had to get nasty almost 3 hours later. At this point it was almost midnight. The only help we were given was a suggestion to call EMS. We had to carry my scared mother down the steps to her bedroom. The next morning we called Surf and Sound Realty office and was told the elevator company had us on the list. We stressed that the elevator had to be repaired by Monday night as we were able to get my mother down the stairs but couldn’t get her back up them at days end for bedtime. They promised to keep us informed but by 4p I heard nothing and started trying to call. No one responded. Around 9p I was able to reach the emergency line and was told that they had no idea what “the hell the status of the elevator was” and they weren’t doing anything at 9p at night. My feeble mother used a cane and with our help climbed 4 flights of stairs to her room. She was so exhausted she. Was unable to leave her room the next day. The elevator was finally repaired on Tuesday. Only took about 20 minutes which begs the question why it couldn’t have been done on Sunday when I first called. 7. On Tuesday night the ceiling in the first floor game room fell in and began leaking where the shower drain from an upstairs bedroom was leaking. Called the office and left a message. Someone left a note on the door on Wednesday that there was a leak (no joke) and someone would be in contact about repairs. No one ever contacted me
