Built in 1896, this turn of the century recently remodeled home is full of welcoming charm and cozy, unique spaces. The exposed beams and wood paneling reveal the rustic character, but with all of the modern conveniences and comfort of home. The kitchen has a nostalgic farmhouse feel with all of the modern amenities to whip up a fantastic family meal.

The historic Denver & Rio Grande train line runs behind the home with Amtrak passengers and cargo shipments. The nearest train stop is located in nearby Glenwood Springs. Due to the nearby train tracks, use caution with young children and supervise them outdoors at all times.

HOUSE RULES
You, as the Guest, accept and assume full responsibility for ensuring any person permitted at the Property abides by the rules expressed herein. Upon booking, reservation and payment, you agree to abide by the following rules:
A. You are responsible for all occupants of the home and must require that all rules herein, as well as the within the Short Term Rental Agreement, are followed.
B. No one under the age of twenty-five (25) shall qualify to rent this property. You shall not rent or stay at the Property unless there shall be at least one Guest over the age of twenty-five (25) concurrently renting or staying at the Property. All children must be under direct adult supervision at all times.
C. Please take Garbage/Trash to the curb on the scheduled day(s) of trash removal and not before, as indicated in the Guest Guide located within the Property.
D. Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM - 8:00 AM daily. Quiet hours consist of no music and keeping all audio at a minimum level out of respect for the surrounding residents.
E. You are solely responsible for any other person at the Property. Additional persons above the maximum occupancy of the home may NOT stay overnight at the Property.
F. You will be responsible for any fine and/or violation that is imposed on the Homeowner due to the negligence of any person permitted on the Property by you.
G. You agree not to use the Property for any unlawful purpose, including but not limited to, the sale, use or possession of illegal drugs on or around the Property.
H. Absolutely no hazardous materials are permitted to be in or around the Property at any time.
I. The burning of candles is not permitted within the Property, with the exception of birthday candles.
J. Under no circumstances may a stove, oven or range be used as a source of heat. All appliances are to be used only for their intended purpose.
K. Charcoal and Gas Barbecue grills may not be used inside any structure located on the Property.
L. You may not bring your own grill (of any type) or fire pit for use on the premises.
M. Tents or other structures may not be erected on the Property without.
N. Commercial photography or filming is not permitted on the Property.
O. All windows and doors must remain closed during inclement weather.
P. You shall notify Manager of any pest control problems.
Q. The use of any provided swimming pool or hot tub is at your own risk. You further understand that any interruption of use will not alter or change any of the terms of this Agreement.
R. You may not block the fire escape at any time.
S. The Homeowner does not permit gatherings at the Property. A disturbance caused by you or any person permitted on the Property during your stay which results in any police action, complaints from neighbors is considered sufficient cause for immediate termination of this Agreement, immediate eviction and forfeiture of all monies paid as permitted by law.
T. Housekeeping: While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. No towels or linens shall be taken from the house. A cleaning fee is automatically added and charged to you for each booking and reservation. Even though a cleaning fee is charged, you are expected to leave the Property in a neat and orderly condition. An additional cleaning fee may apply if excessive cleaning or trash removal is required upon your departure.
U. Damage Protection Policy: A mandatory fee for third-party accidental rental damage insurance will be automatically charged to each booking. Should the assessed damages and or the amount of missing items, exceed the maximum limits of the insurance policy, you shall be held responsible to pay for the deficiency.

We had a lovely weekend in New Castle and surrounding areas. The house was very nice, as is the town of New Castle. We were supposed to hike to Hanging Falls early Saturday but unfortunately 70E was closed. Luckily, we were able to head west instead and hiked in Rifle Gap State Park and Rifle Falls State Park and both were beautiful. We also enjoyed exploring Glenwood Springs in the evening once the highway was open. ) We had a problem locking the door and the property owner and management company were very quick to respond and help us out. (It turned out it was our error and it worked fine; we were just doing it wrong. But the point is--we were able to speak with someone quickly and they were very friendly and responsive.)

New Castle Family Rendezvous

My parents met up with my wife and I on the tail end of their UT/CO road trip. We're planning on moving to New Castle so this was a perfect way to experience it. The house was perfect for us and we appreciated the Mayor Frank backstory in the community. Main Street had plenty of food options for our long weekend. The proximity to Glenwood and GJ/Fruita made it a great location to go out and explore the western slope!

Relaxing place to enjoy Glenwood Springs

The listing describes this place very well. The kitchen was nicely equipped for us, and it was nice to use the grill. The master bed fits a little tight, and getting 5 people through one shower was a process. However, we found it to be unique, well furnished, clean and it worked as we hoped for our stay.

Summer getaway

The Mayor’s house was used as a summer getaway for a teacher and several students for 5 days of activities in and around Glenwood Springs/New Castle. It was a great location, quiet and well equipped for people of all ages!

Property was comfortable and well maintained. Great location and reasonable rate. Traffic in town was a bit of a problem. Front bedroom had headlights shining in windows all night. Problem resolved by moving to back bedroom. Desperately needs some better light in living room. Train roaring close by might make some unhappy but was huge hit for grandson.

Great property that had everything our friend group needed. Loved the bed space for friend group of 8. We enjoyed the share space for game nights. About 15 mins to Glenwood Springs. Cute town of New Castle and good location on the main st. Didn’t communicate with hosts, so that rating didn’t apply to us. Didn’t use to kitchen for cooking. Overall, had a wonderful experience at Mayor Frank’s!

Fabulous Place in a Charming Village

We've been vacationing in Glenwood Springs for years, and this year our booking came too late to find a reasonably priced house that would accommodate all 7 of us. (1 family of 4 with kids, 1 couple, 1 single) I had never seen historic downtown New Castle before, but it sounded charming, so we booked this property, and couldn't have been happier. It's only 10 minutes from downtown Glenwood, but it's a 1-block walk to an adorable, vibrant historic center in New Castle with some wonderful restaurants and shops. The house is lovingly restored and spacious. Each bedroom had an air conditioner, which was wonderful because each day was in the mid 90s during our stay. The kitchen was well stocked and functional. (I'm a chef, so a functioning and properly-equipped kitchen is very important to us.) The large room with 3 beds is up a narrow flight of spiral stairs, and the living room is separated from the kitchen and downstairs bedrooms by a few stairs, so this isn't the right choice for a group with mobility-impaired folks. The only important thing to note is that this listing shows the house as 2 bathrooms, which is why we booked it. In reality, it is 1 1/2 baths, so there is only 1 shower...not ideal for a group of 7 with teenage girls! The description explained this, but after we had filtered for 2 bathrooms and this listing came up, we booked it without carefully reading about the bathrooms.
