Gated Villa sitting on three acres of "pastures of Heaven" with great views, privacy, outdoor facilities include grilling, multiple decks. Inside a large kitchen and family room. A separate guest house with its own full bath. Near Laguna Seca racetrack, 15 minutes from downtown Monterey and 25 minutes to Carmel-by-the-Sea.
My wife and I stayed here while attending weekend events at Laguna Seca. The house has great views, and is very conveniently located for the track. All in all, no complaints and it fit our needs just fine.
Nick was very responsive and accommodating when our plans had to be adjusted! As some of the other reviews have said, the house has some quirks but it was perfect for us and is amazingly beautiful! Great host and frantsstic value.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the mountain house. It could have been cleaner but I imagine itâs hard to manage cobwebs being in the mountains and not having screens on all of the windows. There is no ac but the weather was beautiful!
This house had a fantastic view of the sunrise and sunset, which is very unique. There was a lot of space in the house, which was very nice for our group. One unfortunate inaccuracy was that the online description clearly listed "hot tub" as the top amenity, which was important to our group, but there was actually no hot tub on the property. We would have chosen another location had this been clearly stated in advance and we feel like we paid too much for a place without a hot tub. One more suggestion we would make is to use a different detergent on the bedding and towels because the fragrance was so strong that it was a little overwhelming when we walked in the house and when we went to shower or to sleep. The weekend was still lovely, but these 2 things would be great to address for future guests.
The property is located in the hills outside Salinas and offers good views of the surrounding area. It can accommodate 8 people comfortably in beds. However, there are certain things to know:
1. The place does not have a central heater, only space heaters and a fireplace. These are not enough in cold weather, like we experienced in early April.
2. Running hot water can be an issue, especially with a group of people. We found hot water constantly running out and several of us ended up taking cold showers. It's not an issue if you wait 15-20 minutes between people taking showers, but this was not something we could do since we wanted to get ready and leave the place to see the surrounding areas.
3. There were quite a few spiders that we found and killed inside the house. Seems like a regular insect spraying is not done on the property.
This was a great and comfy place for a large group to stay. There was beautiful bird watching from the deck and it was perfectly located between Carmel-by-the-Sea and Monterey for different activities.
This house was secluded and had great views. It was a very nice property only thing I wish they had more was more bowls in the kitchen for cooking (large bowls) but everything else was great.
We had a great time at the Mountain House. The interior was a bit dated but was clean and functional. The best part was the outdoor area, with a great bbq and multiple fire pits. We were lucky and had warm weather and were able to grill and hang out in the patio.
Great weekend at the Mountain house, with access to the beautiful Carmel valley, Carmel-by-the-sea, and .beach areas. Host was very helpful in answering our questions and making our stay enjoyable and comfortable.
