This is a cool little tucked away spot a block from the beach. Friendly neighborhood with easy access to groceries, shops, a cute little crepe food cart and most importantly beaches.
We traveled with friends and this property is roomy and good for two couples to share. We stayed in late May, the weather was cool and wet, the electric wall heaters are very different than what we have in the United States, we were not able to figure out how to adjust the temperature above 18.5C (67F) and get them to turn on. I contacted the host to inquire and his response was that they are not difficult and to just turn them on.
Wi-Fi was provided but the password included an eâ which is on a French keyboard but not an American keyboard. I was able to scan the QR code on the Wi-Fi to sign-on with my phone but could not connect with my laptop. Also, the we could connect to the Wi-Fi on the ground floor but not in the upstairs room.
Towels were not provided; we have stayed in VRBOs for twelve years in Europe, Canada, and the United States and never had to bring our own towels, so we had to purchase towels at a local store. Who thinks of packing towels for a 30- day vacation while keeping luggage weight below fifty-pounds.
Excellent location, place is nice and clean but outdoor area could do with some TLC and a paint. Kitchen had an ample amount of dishes and utensils although only provided 1 dishwasher tablet for our 2 nights stay.
None of us could access the internet as the password did not work so the host told us to use a QR code which then required a download and a link to the router but none of us 5 could get this to work.
We had 2 half toilet rolls between 5 of us for the whole stay so I feel the host could provide basic products, toilet rolls, dishwasher tablets, tea, coffee etc. We had travelled light from England so did not bring towels - the amenities list didn't state towels but did say Linens which we presumed would mean towels - so beware of this.
Overall we enjoyed our stay but adding small details could have improved it immensely.
Unfortunately on our return home there had been an issue with the payment of the second installment which had not been taken. Once aware of this it was paid immediately (Vrbo or the host hadn't asked for this payment prior to this) but the host proceeded to accuse us of damages to the TV and theft which hadn't happened and a charge for damages was made through Vrbo to try to compensate himself incase the payment for the property was not made. The host clearly stated to us he would remove the charge when the payment for the stay was made - which he did not remove, the payment for the damages was then taken. I am still trying to claim this back.
Myself and my family (hubby and two teens) stayed here for three nights. Place was tidy and well equipped, communication with owner was good throughout. The location is lovely, only a minute walk to the beach with lovely local bakery and restaurants and lots of history in the town. Would recommended!
