This amazing, private home provides you and your guests with privacy, spacious interiors, and access to all Birchwood resort amenities. Located on the shores of Little Saint Germain Lake, Birchwood is an ideal destination to enjoy lake life in the Northwoods.

Birchwood Lodge features a large living room on the main level that walks out to a covered deck with views of the lake. The lower level has another living area with a new 70-inch TV and an exit to the lakefront. The lodge has 8 bedrooms, four on the main level and four bedrooms on the lower level of the property.

Little Saint Germain is one of the most popular fishing and recreational lakes in the Northwoods with over 950 acres to explore. Reel in a Bass, Pike, or Walleye, or simply paddle through the pine-encompassed bays of the lake to witness the soaring of eagles and glimpses of deer as sneak the lakefront. Pontoon and non-motorized watercraft rentals are available for rent and free delivery through Hiller Vacation Homes!

Lodge was nice. Lake was great. Only two negative thoughts...1. beach was practically unusable due to aquatic vegetation;2. Lots of truck traffic from quarry makes cycling, walking, or jogging on Birchwood lane challenging.

Multiple bathrooms for our group. Common areas for hanging together made for a great time. Location to the lake, town and snowmobile trails cannot be topped.

Great Experience

Accuracy of property was excellent. Property and cabin were clean and tidy. Wifi was surprisingly fast and handled a group of 6 with no issues. Only two complaints:- The code provided for the front door lock did not work when we arrived and had to call the 1-800 number to get it reset, which did work but was a slight inconvenience after traveling all day- The upstairs master bathroom shower had no hot water at all. Every other bathroom worked just fine though.Aside from those two issues everything else was great and would definitely stay again or recommend to anyone else!

Vacation in the Lodge

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were disappointed with our rental. On the plus side the beach and swim area are great. The size of the rental was nice and the improvements they have made are good. Unfortunately they are midway through the remodel. There was almost no water pressure in the master bath. They added a washer and dryer but central air was not in the rental as told to us. A couple of the bedrooms had bad mattresses. The website said there was a paddle boat but there was not one. The deck was nice and great patio doors to deck. I did not feel this rental was worth the high price New cabinet doors in kitchen but no pulls. You had to open a couple to get in some drawers

Hi Nancy, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your recent stay at the Birchwood. We realize that this cabin is still under some construction. Due to all of the supply chain issues and labor shortages, the cabin could not be fully finished before your arrival. As time permits work is being done and I am happy to say the drawer pulls are now on. I am not aware that a paddle boat is available t this resort. I do know there are kayaks and other water equipment. Those are on a first come basis. Maybe someone grabbed the paddleboat. We hope to see you at another Hiller Vacation property soon.

Many issues

We had many issues during our stay. First, the property was at 60* for the furnace when we arrived, and dropping. It was 20* outside and snowing. Someone came on site and told us it should have been WiFi controlled but maybe housekeeping accidentally turned it down. It didn't warm up to 70 until 4 hours later because heating in this place is by baseboard heat and radiant heat. We had space heaters in the basement for the many young children we had staying! Then, the oven circuit breaker was turned off (behind a locked door). I also politely asked for a late check out - it's difficult to get 6 young children and 15 adults ready to go by 9am, and we weren't permitted an extra hour, even though it appeared no one else was booked at this place for a while. Overall, the place looked nice until you looked closer - stained carpet, cobwebs on the fixtures, flooring not quite finished under the baseboard heaters, etc.

Family Vacation

We had a very nice stay at St. Germaine. The biggest problem was that it was a bit of a construction zone. There were no handles or pulls on the kitchen drawers/cupboards. Missing trim around windows. Piles of dirt in the backyard. We also were told that the five bedrooms had air conditioners but only one did. It was a nice house with a good location right by the beach, but I think the price was a bit high as the construction wasn’t complete.

Annual Family Labor Day Weekend getaway

The home was everything as expected. Wonderful layout and perfect location right off the beach of the resort. We weren't wanting for anything and the check-in couldn't have been easier. Thanks Hiller Vacation Homes! We hope to be back again!

Quiet getaway

We enjoyed our stay here. The house was clean and plenty of room for our big group. The beds and pillows are not very comfortable and could use some updating. The short walk down to the beach is really steep for older people and young children but beach area is very nice which the young kids loved. Despite a few downsides we still had a fun and relaxing time and would recommend it to others.

Northwoods Getaway

The home was perfect for our group! Lots of room so we weren’t bumping elbows all the time and could “escape” the kids noise! Couple of minor issues-contract I signed said check in was 3:00. The home was “missed” by the cleaning people and we weren’t able to get in until almost 4:00. The kayaks that were there for ALL to use-there is a sign posted where they’re at- were not there as one of the other cabins took them and kept them at their cabin. When we as well as other guests asked management to have them brought back their response was to bring in another kayak. I also received an email reply to my request two days later that if we want them we should just go get them from there yard. 🤔 We did speak with owner and he was pleasant enough-not sure if he was made aware of the other issues.

I am glad to hear your group had plenty of room. Our cleaning staff is a little short staffed so we apologize for that. We do hope you were able to get out on the kayaks.
