Step into a large open floor plan with breathtaking views of the ocean while enjoying the spacious kitchen, LR and DR. The kitchen comes fully stocked with all you will need for your stay…whether you are a stay-at-home cook or a grab and go kind of family, this kitchen and dining area provides plenty of seating at the large bar and dining table. Need a moment? Retreat to the covered front porch as you listen to the waves crash into shore while watching for dolphins or relax on the back deck and take a plunge in the private pool, whatever your heart desires! The entire family will sleep in comfort in one of the upstairs rooms. It boasts of a bonus area for the kids to play games or watch TV all while they await sweet dreams in the “Mermaid” or “Shark and Pirate” bedrooms.
Level 1: One king suite with private bath, one king bedroom, LR with 1 queen sleeper sofa, a full bath, the kitchen, dining room, covered front porch, and back sun deck with a pool.
Level 2: A “Shark and Pirate” BR with 2 sets of bunk beds: lower bunks are full size, upper bunks are twins; the “Mermaid” BR also has a bunk bed: lower is full, upper is twin; BR with queen bed; a bathroom and a large common area with views of the bay and the ocean.

The house was spacious and in a great location very close to the beach. The pool was great to cool off in after a day at the beach. It would be nice for shade options on the back porch, it gets very hot and burns feet.

Family vacation

We enjoyed our recent stay. There were three families and plenty of room to accommodate everyone. The main floor kitchen/dining/living room area is very large. The kitchen was well stocked. It was nice to have a pool for times when you needed a break from the beach. The walk to the beach was easy. The beach was not crowded which made it easier to watch the kids. The owner was very responsive. Would stay again!

House was amazing! Closer to the beach than we expected, so much space. Pictures didn’t do it justice. Kitchen was stocked well and everything was comfy. Only complaint was the pool pump not working properly and although maintenance came multiple times it was never fully functioning. Although a private pool is awesome, it was pretty small for that size of a house. The beach couldn’t have been more perfect, we basically had it to ourselves. Would stay here again for sure!

Best stocked house ever!

This house is as good as the listing! Close to the beach, pool out back, plenty of room for our family of 13. The house was the best stocked house I’ve EVER rented! Hope we get to come back!

My family and I had a wonderful time at the beach! The house was very clean and had everything we needed and more! We had an emergency arise and Emily was very gracious and kind to us. We sincerely appreciate it! Look forward to coming back.

Our stay was absolutely amazing. Made lots of great memories with the family.

The Grey Escape was an awesome experience for my first VRBO rental and family vacation with my sons and their families. Our host, Emily, was very responsive to our needs and gracious! The house was beautiful and very spacious. Our grandchildren, ages 3, 4, 5 and 6 loved the pool and the beach both. I would highly recommend this VRBO!! I would give it more than 5 stars if I could! Thank you Emily!!

Our family rented this house for a week to celebrate our parents 50th wedding anniversary. We had 12 people in our group, from age 10-70. We had a wonderful time and loved so many things about our stay. The neighborhood was very quiet and safe, and the beach area was not crowded. We had more than enough beds to accommodate all 12 of us. The house was very clean and had lots of space. While the pool was a little small, we used it for hours every day and loved having it. We had all items we needed, but would have been nice to have an umbrella for the new deck table that is in the pool area, and some type of shade to take to the beach. Bring toilet paper as each bathroom only had 1 for the week. There was some very minor questions we had upon arrival, and our questions were answered quickly. We highly recommend this house.

Pope Grey Escape vacation

All my families siblings, spouses and children stayed Memorial Day weekend (15 people). Our host, Emily, was very responsive and helpful although, we did not have to communicate often as everything was well organized. It’s a great house, one row from beach with a very short walk to the beach. As others noted, the kitchen was well stocked. The house is as advertised. The 3 upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom while the 2 downstairs have their own (one is private, the other has a door to the common area as well as bedroom).

Amazing week!

Thank you so much to Emily, she saved our family vacation we had been looking forward to for over a year! When our first house got canceled 3 weeks before our trip due to hurricane damage issues, we were so devastated and scared we wouldn’t find somewhere comparable. We found Emily’s great house! It was perfect for our group, short walk to the beach, toys and chairs, nice pool for the kids. Had everything we needed for a unforgettable family vacation. We will share with our friends and family as it was beautiful! Emily was so quick to respond to all our questions and that makes things so smooth! Walmart pickup in gulf shores when we checked in and then a few small trips to the market nearby and other than that we barley had to leave as it had everything needed. Thanks again for an amazing, stress free family week we will cherish forever!

Nice house but very small pool

The house was very nice. It’s brand new and well-stocked with towels, kitchen essentials and beach toys. There were however only 4 beach chairs. The beach was not crowded, such a plus in my opinion. Two disappointments however: 1) when we ready to start up the grill we discovered that the propane tank was empty so we had to delay starting dinner and head to the store and pay to have it filled. Thus, the tank should be checked after every rental and be made ready for the next renters. And, 2) the size of the pool (very small) is not relative to the number of people who would normally rent a 5 bedroom house. Two other houses nearby had larger pools and looked smaller than The Grey Escape. Nevertheless, the kids took full advantage of it and loved it!

We appreciate your comments considering the beach house. It is very important and helpful in planning for future guest to have the best possible experience. Concerning the beach chairs, we had an adequate number of beach chairs for the house. I am not sure what happened with all the chairs. However you bringing this to our attention lets us know we need to do better job verifying the contents of the house after each stay. Concerning the pool size... I agree. I wish it was larger! However, Building at the beach is very controlled by the city. We purchase this house near completion but there again I still wish it was larger. Thanking you for staying! Our goal is to have families build great memories at our beach house, The Grey Escape. Thanks again and let us know if we can help with your stay again in the future.

The house was booked for the five bedroom and three bath and close to the beach. I received a call from a gentleman while eating lunch and was told that it was brought to their attention that there was a soft spot in the floor just to the right of the entrance door. He asked if we would mind if he sent someone out to check it while we were there., I said that was fine.. Little did we know that there were several soft spots throughout the house. So needless to say we had contractors working at our vacation home most of the week that we were there. Then two nights into our stay the AC unit for the upstairs broke. The upstairs has three bedrooms and one bath. We were forced to haul mattress downstairs to be able to sleep comfortably for two nights. before the host had same contractors install 4 window units. I did not intend to pay for a five bedroom home to have to sleep in the living room for two nights. She has yet to respond to some type of compensation for our inconvenience stating that she did not know that the AC was going to break Neither did I but yet I paid the full price when I booked the home. As for the floors if the cleaning crew could not tell that the floors were soft she may need to get a new cleaning staff. When the contractor was pulling the insulation out on our vacation the insulation was dripping wet. I have texted her to see if there was anything that she would do to compensate me at least for the two nights with no AC NO RESPONSE

I did respond to everything and let the guest know there was a problem as soon as we found out that there was someone coming to look under the house. As far as the AC going out we called 3 different companies and the first one to respond was the next afternoon. AS SOON AS we found out it would be days before they could fix the upstairs we got window units installed the very next morning. This is a 2 year old house we keep maintained on the units you can't prevent the unexcepted. She didn't have a problem staying all week and then to get home to ask for money back. I did refund some money.

Beautiful and peaceful

This house fit all 13 of us perfectly! Even with the smaller sized pool, we were able to make memories with the kids when they were tired of the beach. The 1 minute walk to the shore, was perfect. One shower was out of commission during our stay due to a crack in the tub. Even though shower times were a bit chaotic with one tub out of order, the property manager gave us plenty of notice prior to arrival of that change. Overall, we highly recommend this house. Just absolutely gorgeous!!

Great beach house

Just an all around great place. The Kitchen has everything you need to cook any meal which is hard to find in other rentals. The whole family agreed on this comment. Great open space in living room and kitchen with plenty of seating and the little ones loved the option of the pool.

Simply perfect.

The house was spacious and had enough room for the 10 of us (4 adults & and 6 teens) without feeling like we were on top of one another. The full kitchen and gas grill allowed us to cook all of our meals and not bother with traveling back to town to eat. Having a full size washer and dryer on site was a huge plus to keep up on laundry during our stay. The pool, deck, and chairs were a nice place to relax and catch some sun if you needed a break from the beach. The house had plenty of beach chairs to make lounging on the beach more enjoyable. This house was simply perfect. The host, Emily, was great too! Great communication between host and guest. Looking forward to booking another stay here in the future!

Nice 5 bedroom beach home with pool on the second tier from the ocean., one minute walk to beach. Fort Morgan Beach is nice and not crowded, we rented the last week of June

Beautiful home

We had such an amazing time! We traveled with a large group for our 9U baseball team to play in the PG World Series and this home made our trip so amazing. The house is very spacious, with all the things we needed. Emily’s communication was fantastic and we throughly enjoyed her home. We had 11 kids ranging from 4-16 and ALL of them had an amazing time. We made memories that will last a life time. 10 stars!!!!

Amazing

This was mine and my husbands vacation ever in 30 years so we decided to take one with the kids and grandkids it was amazing loved the location loved the short walk to the beach had an awesome time but just sorry we had to leave great place to stay
