Thank you for your comments about the home and amenities. We would like to clarify a few points for future guests. The fireplace is listed as seasonal in our listing, so this was disclosed before booking, not something added afterward. With daytime temperatures around 80°F during their stay, it was not something that should have come as a surprise. Had we been notified that the hair dryer wasn’t working during their stay, we could have delivered a replacement immediately. A new hair dryer is now in the home. Regarding the cigarette smoke, we stand by what we reported.(we ended up not charging although 5 days after their departure it still smells faint of cigarette smoke) The odor was strong enough that we had to wash the shower curtain, unused towels, unused wash cloths, unused beach towels, and unused bath rugs as they had absorbed the smell. Multiple people independently confirmed the odor. We respect that the guests state they do not smoke, but the smoke odor was unmistakable and required extensive additional cleaning. There was no prior booking and the tub blemish mentioned was pre-existing and unrelated to this stay. We take the cleanliness of our home seriously and want future guests to know that concerns are addressed based on what we actually find.
