The charming building has a rich history with origins dating back to as early as the mid-1800s. The original structure burnt down and was rebuilt in 1918, but it is believed that parts of the early foundation still remain. It has operated as numerous businesses and has seen a handful of owners throughout its life. This newly-restored two bedroom suite upstairs features chestnut window and floor trim, hardwood floors, locally-made Amish furniture, and beautiful views of historic downtown Berlin.
Truly an amazing location right in the heart is Amish. The sounds of hooves passing by on the road made this so special. We were able walk to everything in town right from our place. the hosts were amazing and every detail was taken care of. loved coming home with clean clothes after washing them before we left.
Contact with the host was limited, but they responded to all inquiries. The apartment was immaculate and sooo comfortable.it was so convenient to shops and restaurants and attractions.
Our yearly trip to Berlin and surrounding areas. We love staying at Wurthmann House each time. Impeccably clean, decorated beautifully and everything you would need for a comfortable stay .
This 2 bedroom unit is amazing! We absolutely love everything about it! Located in the heart of Berlin, close to shopping and restaurants, we appreciated our very own dedicated parking spot too! Robert and Connie made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The unit also offers a beautiful large outdoor space overlooking the center of town for enjoying morning coffee or a quiet evening. Weâre already looking forward to our next stay! Thank you!!!
Once again it was a beautiful stay at the Wurthmann. The place was seasonally decorated with all the nice extras. We were graced with good weather and the patio is always great for that. Thank you again for a wonderful stay.
This was a wonderful place to stay for our short visit to Berlin. The location, parking and rental couldnât have been any better. Nicely decorated and super clean and comfortable! I highly recommend staying here!
Everything about this property is wonderful. It is so clean, decorated beautifully, comfortable beds, incredible shower. Our favorite part was spending time on the outdoor patio in the morning with coffee & in the evening watching the sun go down. The hosts were very responsive & every detail has been thoroughly paid attention to.. can't wait to stay here again!
Lifelong residents of Holmes County, Robert and Connie Miller are the owners of Wurthmann House. They purchased the building in 2018 and have spent the last year pouring lots of love and plenty of elbow grease into restoring the upper level. The Millers have been married for 36 years and have two grown sons, two daughters-in-law, and two grandchildren. Robert is the owner and general contractor behind the local company, Ohio Dutch Construction; and Connie is a retired bookkeeper and devoted babysitter to her grandchildren.
The Millers were drawn to the building because of the beautiful interior detail and the historical significance of it in the town of Berlin. Connie also worked at the building when it was the Boyd and Wurthmann grocery store for about eight years after she graduated high school.
At 100 years old, The Wurthmann House is one of the oldest buildings in historic downtown Berlin. This 2 bedroom suite is located along the charming Main Street and offers panoramic views of the unique area. You will be stepping back in time when you stay at this beautifully-restored location.
