This 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms pet-friendly cabin is situated on several acres of land overlooking Cimarron and Sneffels majestic mountain peaks. It is located 7 miles from Ridgway, 17 miles (less than 30 minutes) to downtown Ouray, and 50-minutes to Telluride. It is the perfect home base for all of your adventures!

Step into a rustic meets mountain comfort getaway space that offers a truly Colorado mountain cabin experience, complete with a private hot tub, gas grill and smoker to prepare your favorite summertime meal while taking in the awe-inspiring scenery. a

The area is replete with hiking trails and recreational diversity, including snowshoeing and cross country skiing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, mountain biking, and many other recreational pursuits. Let this wonderful property with its best-in-class location be your home base for adventure or your tranquil and quiet respite in the midst of the stunning beauty of the surrounding forest.

Master Bedroom – Queen Bed
2nd Bedroom – Double Bed

The home is pet friendly (2 pet max), and the pet fee is $40/day (Max $250).

PROPERT DISCLOSURES:
No outdoor fires are permitted at any of the Catamount properties per the HOA Bylaws due to the possibility of a forest fire. We ask that guests please be respectful of the neighbors; ATVs are not permitted to be ridden anywhere but on the road.

Please note: For winter stays (November 1 to May 1), a 4WD/AWD vehicle with snow tires are required.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
A deposit of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days before the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

Everything you need

Everything you need and clean and location - beyond stellar. When we got to property we didn’t have correct check in information but I called the number provided and in the first ring they answered and we were in! Which is rare when those types of things happen so thank you!!I did like the space the only thing to add was it is an odd layout. And the lower bathroom toilet didn’t work the entire time we were there. But we were out everyday exploring so not a huge deal! Plus upstairs toilet was fine! I do think the staircase should be included in details - able and fit and still nervous about them since they fold up and down and the top handrails don’t connect so at the highest point there is a 2’ gap. Lastly the only shower in the place is an amazing view and also a jacuzzi bathtub but the curb height to get into even take a shower … even my sister at 5’7” could not comfortably step in the tub to shower. So myself at 5’2” we would joke I was about to go hurdling to get in. Again, for my adventure it was fine but a little different than anticipated overall.

THE Colorado cabin experience

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I love this place! My family and I stayed here this past weekend as an affordable option while skiing in Telluride. It's just a beautiful, easy, one-hour drive. The view is absolutely stunning with sunrises and sunsets looking out towards the Sneffels Range. And after a long day on the slopes, the hot tub was perfect. My morning coffee on the deck while I contemplated how lucky I am... What an amazing reset. The cabin itself is very nice, with a cool cantilevered stairs that gives the living area quite a bit more room. As always with VRC, it was super clean and had everything we needed. Thanks for being a brand I can trust.

We saw deer every day and watched the chipmunks darting around the house. We enjoyed the privacy and peace/quiet of this fairly secluded cabin. We were centrally located to get to Ouray, Teeluride and the Black Canyon. The property management company was very responsive when needed. Would definitely stay here again if we visit again.

Perfect rustic cabin with AMAZING views!

Our stay was incredible. The location and views for this small, functional, and cute cabin was perfect! In fact, there are views from every room - It was easy to just stop and take 15 minutes at any time throughout the day to just watch the mountains change with the light and weather. The cabin was in great shape - no major complaints at all! Functional and cozy, just what we wanted! The bedroom was large enough and well provisioned, but this is still an older cabin so keep that in mind. But that is what we loved and wanted! Everything we wanted to make meals and hang out were there. We'll likely be coming back when it's time to get away to the San Juans and Colorado again!

Incredible view, but maintenance is needed

The setting and views from this cabin are spectacular! Great mattresses and bedding. But unfortunately there are a lot of little issues that took away from our experience, especially for the price. The cabin has an AWFUL smell, which the owners claim is from old wood. Our guess is mildew or a dead animal under the floor boards.Their dishwasher didn’t work, and they knew it considering there was an unused tablet in it already. There’s only 3 coffee cups and most of their wine glasses were filthy or cracked and not usable. We were very disappointed, and contacting them during our stay did nothing.

Great location but could use some TLC

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I stayed here about six years ago and am sad to report that it's gone downhill since. The location is still beautiful and the cabin is very well-stocked with pantry/bathroom items and games, but it could also use some TLC. The biggest disappointment was the hot tub - when I opened it the first night it was full of debris, so I called the property management company. The lady who answered was very friendly and apologetic and said she would send out the maintenance person first thing next morning. After I called, my partner pulled the filter out of the hot tub and it looked like something out of a horror film (growing algae and who knows what else), so we left it out for the maintenance person's attention. We left to go into town at noon the next day but still hadn't seen anyone. When we returned, some (not all) of the debris was gone and the same filter had been rinsed and placed back into the hot tub. I appreciated the effort and I know there probably wasn't another filter readily available, but neither of us felt comfortable soaking no matter how many chemicals had been put in the water given the state of the filter, so half the reason for booking the property was a loss as we never got to use the hot tub. My dog found a dead mouse under the master bed the second day we were there, there were quite a few cobwebs, we had to rewash several of the dishes, and the deck railing definitely needs some attention (don't lean on it). Also, it's worth noting that during the day there was also a fair amount of construction noise from down the road, so sitting on the deck wasn't really the peaceful experience I'd hoped for either. So while this is a beautiful location, my honest recommendation is to pass on this one for the time being. It was not even close to being worth the insane amount we paid for four nights with all the fees. And if you do go and want to use the hot tub... do your due diligence before getting in.

Reviewer Comments: This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Catamount Cabin; each time has been with the intent to take one of our grandchildren to see the Mountains when they are approximately age 11. Every time, we stay here our grandkids dont want to leave and this time was no different. Introducing them to the Rockies and specifically this area has had a lasting impact, and all have wanted to stay longer! The area of Ridgeway/Ouray/Silverton is a great base camp to numerous hiking trails, off road adventures, and amazing shopping and dining!...and we will definitely stay here again in the future! VRC has always been exceedingly helpful when arranging our trip and I have the upmost confidence in them. Thanks again VRC!

Beautiful mountain views from the back porch

Enjoyed our 3 night stay here in late May. No snow on the road and was easy to drive up to cabin from entrance. Beds were comfortable, kitchen very well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils , cookware, etc. Hot tub was nice to relax in after hiking in the Black canyon area. Would stay here again if we return to the area.

Stunning views!

Beautiful location in a very quiet setting. BBQ was great to have. Kitchen had plenty of pots, utensils, etc. A little tricky finding it, (the Google lady was confused). Otherwise everything was wonderful!

We had a great day. The management company was super helpful and trying to get us in a little bit early so my daughter-in-law could work. It actually didn’t really happen, but they certainly tried. My only comments would be that the photos of the house were a little deceiving it was much smaller than I thought, but we had a great time very much. Enjoyed our day.

Beautiful Scenery

We had a great time staying there! The property is gorgeous and the linens are top notch. The hot tub was hot and wonderful in the snow. The view from the deck and the rooms is incredible! It was hard to locate the place and getting there is difficult in the snow. However, we had 4 wheel drive and made it without incident. Called the property management company and after some driving around they got us to the right place. Overall, I loved the place and it was an incredible break away from the city!

Weekend trip

Loved the location and property. Only problem we had was gps navigation took us to what appeared to be a neighboring house and the driveway for the cabin was unmarked. Some sort of signage at the driveway entrance would have been very helpful. Instead we ended up going down the wrong driveway and had to call the management company. The lady had to direct us by looking at an aerial map so it was not a pleasant experience arriving. That aside, we had a great time!

Perfect mountain getaway

I really enjoyed this little cabin tucked away in the mountains. The cabin had everything needed. Hot tub view was incredible. Close drive to amenities and hikes. Highly recommend for a single, couple or small family.

The coziest home away from home!

This was one of the most wonderful places I've ever stayed. The view was stunning, the cabin was homey and amazing. The beds were so comfy, the hot tub for night star viewing was superb. I would stay here a hundred times if I could. I loved it here and cried when we had to leave.

Lovely little cabin with outstanding views!

We love this little cabin. IT's small but mighty! It teaches you that not much space is actually. needed on a daily basis. Enjoy the cabin, sleep. &. go outside. & live your life! That's what it's all about. The view here is amazing, and we took advantage every sunrise & sunset to sit outside & take in the scenery in the hot tub of course!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented this cabin for 5 nights in July 2023. Great outdoor spaces, deck and hot tub with views of the San Juans and the Milky Way! We actually saw a flaming meteor fall to earth one night. It's up the hill a ways and very private. It's just right for a small group. There were 3 of us, including my husband, 20 year old son and me. The only negative is the need to walk through one bedroom to get to the other and there's one shared shower, so I probably wouldn't rent this cabin with anyone other than close family members. But for us to escape the TX heat for a few days, it was perfect! We would rent again for our family.

Ridgway Mountains Home

This home is very secluded with the most gorgeous view. The property is very well maintained and the landscaping attracts hummingbirds which I enjoyed watching every morning and evening. We really enjoyed this comfortable home.
