Charming bayfront cottage with sweeping views of Alsea Bay. The spectacular bay views and quiet setting never grow old—kitchen and living room windows have a 180 degree view of the bay. The tide comes in and out everyday in front of the house, so the view changes all the time.
More often than not, when the coast is socked-in with fog, this lovely house enjoys the sunshine-- and spectacular wildlife viewing from the living room, kitchen and the deck. Daily sightings from the windows of the resident bald eagles, seals and river otters, Canadian geese, and a resident herd of 30+ Roosevelt Elk makes this a FABULOUS place to get away from it all, share time with loved ones, read, play music or to tap your artistic self! Just a 1 hour, 15 minute drive from Corvallis and 3 hours from Portland—a weekend here will refresh you to no end. There are many beaches and coastal gems to visit nearby!
The front door opens to the upper floor, which is the main living area of the house. Upstairs is the kitchen, living room, laundry room, full bathroom, the master bedroom (king bed) and a 2nd, small bedroom (full bed). Great for a family! The kitchen and living room share an open living plan with large windows to enjoy the magnificent waterfront views (a sweeping view of the Alsea Bay). A spiral staircase (encased by windows on 3 sides) leads you downstairs . This is a great separate space for the kids, a second couple or small family—where they can "take over" the downstairs. It has the 3rd bedroom (queen bed), a separate sitting room with a pull out sofa (full bed) and it's own full bathroom.
There’s an electric standing desk located downstairs, if you need a quiet place to work from home.
Outside, you can sit on the deck and watch the wilderness around you, or opt for the fire pit in the side yard (no fires on the deck, please!).
PARENTS NOTE: Due to the steep stairs down to the water, and the (fenced) 20ft raised perch we're situated on, this home is not suitable for children under the age of 8.
We encourage you to bring your own personal watercraft to enjoy the surrounding areas. A SUP paddle up Beaver Creek at sunset is unforgettable! Or, time the tides and launch from the bottom of our stairs.
Short drive to Corvallis (75 min) Waldport (4 minutes), Newport (15 minutes), & Yachats (15 minutes). Beautiful Ona Beach and Seal Rock are both minutes away by car. Dig clams nearby, rent crabbing boats at McKinleys Marina (just 5 miles away -we can help assist with this fun day trip!) Or enjoy the Beaver Creek wilderness, where you can rent kayaks and enjoy pristine hiking trails.
