The large, private lot with mostly level grass lawn and and gradual water entry is excellent for kids and adults to play! The property includes a back, undeveloped, wooded lot for added privacy.
In the summer, swim, boat, kayak, golf, hike, and bike by day, watch the gorgeous sunsets in the evening, and relax shoreside by the outdoor fire pit at night. Days are endless on Embden lake! The generous dock offers lots of room to sunbathe and stretch out over the crystal clear water, and the sloped lawn leads to a gradual entry into the water - perfect for young children. Explore the lake in the included kayaks, or relax with a good book in the hammock. Nearby hiking adventures are endless--many amazing mountains such as Sugarloaf, the Bigelow range, and Katahdin all within one-two hours drive. Golf at nearby Diadema or a bit further at Sugarloaf. Cornhole boards and horseshoe pits offer hours of lakeside family entertainment.
In the winter, make your winter getaway complete with skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and ice fishing just outside your front door. With Sugarloaf/USA and Saddleback ski resorts a 45-minute drive from the home, this is the perfect spot to relax after a day on the slopes. It’s the ultimate base lodge for snowmobilers with ITS 87 just outside the doorstep. Once the lake freezes over (usually by January 1st), the lake house becomes your ultimate ice fishing shack as you can watch your traps from the large windows and cozy warmth of the camp. Venture into the woods or out onto the frozen lake with your snowshoes or cross-country skis and explore Maine’s great outdoors.
In the fall, hiking and foliage are abundant in beautiful central and western Maine! Leaf-peepers will love striking out from this central Maine location to all the hot spots. The foliage on the lake is spectacular, especially when paired with a crimson sunset over the lake.
