À propos de cet hébergement

Profitez de notre charmante maison en rondins nichée sur le rivage de l’étang vierge Sandy Pond. La tranquillité vous attend sur cet étang isolé de 107 hectares dans les hautes terres du centre du Maine. Notre maison est complète avec 3 chambres, deux salles de bains et beaucoup d'espace pour se détendre en famille et entre amis. Sandy Pond est un joyau caché qui s'étend sur un kilomètre et demi, il est approvisionné chaque année en truite brune par l'État du Maine et abrite de nombreuses autres espèces pour vos aventures de pêche. Sandy Pond n'a pas d'accès public au bateau et une restriction de 10 chevaux sur les moteurs de bateau le rend paisible même au plus fort de la saison estivale. Profitez de votre café du matin sur notre quai privé ou sur notre pont spacieux offrant une vue spectaculaire sur le lever du soleil, accompagné uniquement du cri de nos huards qui nichent.
La baignade est sûre et agréable pour tous les âges car l'entrée de l'étang est progressive, l'eau se réchauffe bien en été. L'eau est située à 130 'de la maison. Dans la soirée, profiter de la conversation par un feu de camp dans le foyer.

Amazing property! Private and quiet, homeowners were perfect with communication. The house was presented perfectly and very welcoming. Plenty of firewood! Would go back anytime

Christmas in Maine!

This is truly a multi season homestead. We were here in the hopes of a White Christmas and Maine delivered. The home was clean and had everything we needed. They took it a step further by not only providing a Christmas tree, but decorating the entire home. We really had a great time and even learned about ice fishing. This location provides access to all that Maine has to offer. no matter the season.

Quintessential Maine Cabin

The Hideaway is the quintessential Maine cabin on the lake. We have 6 adults in our group for a week and there was plenty of space for everyone. The place was clean, beds were comfortable and the lake was clear. We saw the bald eagle, a crane and the local loons. We spent the days swimming and exploring the lake in pontoon paddle boat. We went to Skowhegan and got fresh live lobsters from Cantrell’s seafood truck and enjoyed a lobster dinner on the deck facing the lake. The area is remote and quiet, with very few people. Even with properties on either side it feels very private and secluded. There is no tv in the living area so we brought one with us for our nightly horror movie. Joanna and Andrew were the perfect hosts and were very responsive to any of our questions. The organic maple syrup, pancake mix and chocolates on each bedside table was such a nice touch! We would recommend the hideaway for anyone who wants comfort and peace and quiet.

Vacation week

The place was great, even better than advertised. The owners have thought of everything. It's well appionted and stocked with all the basics. Brook trout are abundant and delicious caught right in front of the huge windows. Snowmobile trail access at the end of the driveway and easy entry onto lake. We highly recommend and hope to return.

Amazing New Year's Stay!

We really enjoyed our New year's stay! The house is amazing: clean, well-equipped and spacious. The views are breathtaking. We really enjoyed the porch and grounds around the house. We were lucky to have snow during New Years. The pond was frozen and beautiful! The fireplace adds to the cosiness of winter say. We hope to be back this summer and then next winter.

Great stay!

Just two points we would like to make. Originally, our party was to have three individuals. One cancelled several weeks before. Had we had all three, using one shower would have been challenging. Also, when you charge for linens, the guests should not be responsible for washing them, as we were instructed to do. Also, there was no laundry detergent, so we had to go purchase some.

Great cabin in an idyllic setting

This is a wonderful place - the cabin is well-designed, comfortable and has everything you need for a great stay (including homemade pancake mix and Maine maple syrup!) Sandy Pond is quiet and peaceful, from sunsets to kayaking, with firepit and BBQ added bonuses. The pontoon paddle boat is useful and fun -- makes a great platform to swim from and also to explore the lake for those who don't wish to kayak. Great trail hiking nearby, including waterfalls, mountains, and rails-to-trails paths. Joanna was really helpful in managing questions and answering any and all questions. Couldn't have been any better!

July 4th vacation

We had such a wonderful time at the Hideaway! My husband, 2 children, sister, nephew and mother all fit comfortably and had so much fun. The place was immaculate felt like home. Despite the rainy start to our week, we spent each day paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing and made lots of use of the pontoon paddle boat. We even had a visit from the giant turtle that lives in the pond— she was truly amazing to see! Joanna was very responsive and we had no complaints at all. We hope to be back be back again!

Beautiful house on a peaceful lake

The cabin was very clean and comfortable. The view is breathtaking. We saw a loon every morning and had a bald eagle land in he tree in the yard. Check in and out was very easy and Johanna responded right away. We would love to go back!

Relaxing Long Weekend

This was the perfect house for a long weekend to celebrate the end of Summer! The house had everything we needed and plenty of space for our group of friends. The yard and access to the lake was phenomenal. We absolutely loved staying at this house and had a fantastic time!

Our family and family friends had a wonderful stay at the cabin! The cabin was beautiful and clean, the personal touches were just a bonus! Joanna allowed us to check in early because there wasn’t a prior day’s guest and that was hugely appreciated after a long drive with small children. Thank you!!

Maine vacation 2022

We had an absolutely amazing time here! We brought our dogs and kids and spent the weekend kayaking, fishing, and playing some board games during the rain. The house was everything we wanted and more. The kids asked if we could just stay forever. This is a perfect place for a family trip, very quiet and relaxing to get away from reality for a little while. We will absolutely be coming back!

Quiet getaway

Great Getaway

I stayed here with my wife, 4 kids, dog and my sister in law's family and her dog. This was my second time staying at the house and they made some nice upgrades since my last stay (new windows and kitchen appliances). The house is very clean and Joanna is great responding to any questions. She knows my family plays pond hockey when we go so this year she actually shoveled out a small rink for us and set up a make shift bench near the pond so we could change into our skates. Sugarloaf is a 45 minute ride and we do one day of skiing and the other days we play pond hockey. We pack our ice skates, sticks and hockey net and we shovel out our own hockey rink. We all play for hours then take a break to eat and warm up by the GREAT fireplace. I recommend packing everything you are going to need for the days you will be there because the stores are not very close and once you get there it is nice to just settle in by the fire and have a few drinks.

Amazing place!

The house looked better than the pictures! It was clean, cozy and just beautiful! It was nice to sit by the fireplace and enjoy warm tea. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. The owners left a really nice note downstairs by the bar welcoming us at their place. The bar downstairs is awesome! The area is beautiful, no cars, noises. The yard was huge and we enjoyed walking around in snowy woods, our dog loved it as well! I highly recommend this place! We are definitely coming back! :)

Andrew and Joanna are life long natives of Maine. We take great pride in our log home. Andrew is a master carpenter and general contractor by trade. Together we lovingly built this log home for our family being sure to add all the small touches that make a house a home. We love sharing the home with our guests and hearing about how the setting allows them to enjoy time with their family and friends in peace and quiet.

Our cabin has all the comforts that we have come to rely on and more while maintaining a classic rustic feel (without the sacrifices!). It's far enough "away from it all" to provide our guests with the opportunity to decompress from daily life, yet it is not too far from stores, hospitals and other necessities.
