Great spot in a great location

The house is located close to the beach and close to the downtown area, but far enough away to be very quiet. The house is great - a couple large areas to hang out, and the rooms were nice.

We really liked the location! Firepit was nice. House was very roomy! Bathrooms were newer and clean! would definitely stay there again. My only con, I feel the house needs a deep clean.

Great Vacation Home in South Haven, Michigan

The location is perfect - close to town and to the beach. The bedrooms were decorated nicely and the bathrooms were very modern. The host was very accommodating and responsive. We hope to reserve again for next year!

Return to South Haven

Our stay was wonderful! The home was lovely & had just about everything we needed! Fully stocked towels in bathrooms, nicely updated. We especially loved having beach chairs because that’s something we didn’t invest in. The only complaint we had is the mattress covers are extremely noisy; they crinkle with every movement which really hindered a solid night’s sleep. Beautiful home & great location!

Awesome family getaway!

My family and I had a wonderful time in south haven. The house was spacious and clean, with plenty of room for all of us. Bathrooms were full of towels, hand towels, and washcloths. The kitchen had pretty much everything we needed as well. It’s a nice quiet neighborhood, and not too far to walk to the beach or into town. We really enjoyed our stay and would 100% stay here again!

Great property, excellent location

We were very happy with our stay. The house was clean. The location can't be beat - a six block walk to the beach and a 4 block walk to downtown South Haven. The house had the basics for our stay - toilet paper, ample bath towels, trash bags and cooking utensils, in addition to a coffee maker. Plenty of space to park multiple cars. The TVs are equipped with streaming services. The only watch out is for those traveling with multiple couples is that all of the upstairs beds are doubles. We received excellent communication from the host, as well.

South haven beach vacation

The location and flow of the house were great. We had an extended arrival time due to cleaning delay. One person cleaned a 5 bedroom in 2 hours. Not the cleanest. The backyard area had not been cleaned since winter debris. Love south haven but would not rent again for the price

Close to downtown

House was in a great location. Walking distance to downtown and the beach. The front porch is a major feature of the house. The house was clean but definitely an older home and in ok condition. Some of the bedroom doors don’t latch. The mattresses need to be updated. The kitchen was missing several items to cook with.

A Wonderful Haven

Excellent in every way! Well appointed with many thoughtful amenities in the kitchen and bathrooms. Updates throughout the house add modern convenieces to the old world architecture. Screened in front porch was a true delight.The cleaning team did a great job! Location was an easy stroll to downtown and beaches! Thank you for providing great communication and a wonderful property

Spacious Home

Enjoyed studying at Independent House. Spacious kitchen and living area. Location is 4 blocks from beach, very walkable. Very nice backyard. House manager was very helpful as we needed a propane tank and she was right on it, and she is very nice. Big house needed a lot more cleaning, lots of dust and dirt in the corners and under sofas. Floors are hard to clean, but all day Saturday and Sunday should give the cleaners plenty of time to get this done properly. Cleaning fee is expensive! Overall, though, it was a good house.

South Haven girls weekend

SouthHaven us a great place to visit for a long weekend. The house was very clean and accommodating. The only thing that we didn't have was the master BR with a private bath. We made do and had no issues.

Family Reunion

We had a great time in this house. The fact that it had 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms was a plus for our group. The backyard was great for afternoon lounging and for fires at night. The porch was great for morning coffee while the teenagers still slept. We will definitely rent again from Poorna, as this is an annual family reunion for us. I highly recommend this home.

Well stocked, great location and value!

This was a great house at a great value! Location was most important to us and why we chose this house - it is walkable to South Beach, Kids Corner and downtown (I walked all of these with my 6 and 8 year old kids. The younger kids in our group rode in a wagon to the beach and we also drove a few times with no issue finding parking near the church across from the beach entry. We had more than enough space for four adults and four kids with numerous sleeping options for our group. I liked that there was a small bedroom near the living room where kids could rest alone when they needed downtime. Despite a previous review, when we arrived all rooms were VERY clean! Kitchen had everything we needed including metal roaster forks for marshmallows at the campfire. I was impressed that the starter supplies (dish washer tabs, washing machine tabs, etc.) lasted our entire 5-day stay. While we brought our own coffee, the starter supply of grounds and kcups would have been enough for the two coffee drinkers in the house too. Extra throws in the living room were nice for the kids to use in the mornings when they were waking up and having cousin TV time. We consistently entered through the backdoor after returning from the beach, and it was convenient to rinse the kids off in the small shower at that entry! The sandiest kid took his daily full shower here most days as well. The other two bathrooms are beautifully renovated, however, having a 2 and 4 year old with us, it would have been nice to have a bathtub, but we got by. Communication with the property manager was excellent before and after the stay. When we thought we left a beloved stuffed animal in the house, she reached out to the cleaning crew and communicated with us quickly! I appreciate her availability to us. Overall this house was easy and worked out great for a wonderful week in beautiful South Haven.

Great location

Perfect location for family, close walks to beach and to town. Communication and follow through with owner went very well. Having coffee available was a plus. Hope to be back for a future stays.

Family vacation

We had a very nice time. Away from too much noise but very centrally located to get to town easily and enjoy. The front porch was amazing to enjoy coffee and quiet each morning.

Property interior could use allot of work

Overall, filthy. Inside floors were absolutely terrible. Main floor shower did not drain and nearly flooded the bathroom. Discovered "Ourselves" the drain had never been cleaned as it was clogged with clumps of hair. Grass was overgrown, but once we contacted the owner, it was cut the following day. Oven and grill were filthy/dirty. We did use the grill during our stay and we cleaned it very well prior to leaving for the next group. We would terminate the company or individual responsible for cleaning this property..

I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience. We have the property manager stationed within half hour from the house to address issues like this. If you had reported out the issue to us right away, we could have addressed it as we did the grass. No house is perfect. With regards to the cleaning crew, we have been using them for a while and they are instances where the guests have left a tip for their work. I understand that expectations are different from different people. I am sorry we couldn't meet your expectations. Regards Lake MI Rental LLC
