On our arrival, we were impressed by the beautiful garden beds. Check-in was simple and straightforward. The unit was clean and tastefully decorated.Lyudmyla welcomed us in person, gave us a tour of her immaculate gardens (and some cucumbers, dill and arugula!) and gave us suggestions for dinner. The bed was comfortable and we were able to close the blinds to sleep in without sunlight waking us early. The owner probably sprays, since I saw a dead bug at the front door, but my daughter with arachnophobia needed me to remove a spider from the nightstand. I was delighted that our dog was welcome and Lyudmyla was a perfect hostess.
We had a great stay here and our hosts were incredible! The place was very clean and our hosts made us feel very welcome. We were very pleased w the beauty of the property!
We secured a long-term rental here while our new home was being completed. The property is beautiful, our lower level suite was comfortable and met our needs. We found time to visit some historical properties and awesome wineries, all within a one hour drive. Our hosts were attentive when we needed them. We hope to visit again!
Amazing place close to the national park and trails. Very quiet with a beautiful gardens. The owner is amazing and shared fresh strawberries from her garden with us.
Stayed here two nights for a wedding and it was perfect. Surrounding area is full of large farms and pretty countryside - hosts live upstairs are super friendly and accommodating. Bed was very comfortable.
It was nice and quit. At the same time is was about 8 minutes from downtown, My host Mila and Herb were great. I will go back when I am in the area again.
We were greeted by the host to start a lovely weekend. The suite is well laid out with everything you'll need. nicely decorated with updated amenities in addition they provide coffee, tea, and some snacks. It has good wifi and a lovely walk out patio area with seating and dining. It is so dark at night you can see hundreds of stars and in the morning you are greeted by a mist and the quite sounds of cows mooing in a distance. Close to wineries, dining, and battlefields. The host was so kind to our beagle clan who loved their morning and evening walks. We will definitely stay again.
This location couldn't have been more pleasant. The apartment was neat, clean and very accommodating. This could be rented for a long term stay if necessary. It has an open floor plan, living room/dining room and kitchen with a separate MB and Bath. Due to my reason for travel I was out very early and not back until after dark. That said, there's more than ample room to exercise my dogs and the landscaping is lovely. The hosts answered all of my many questions very quickly and it's a very safe location if travelling alone.
Myla is very nice and she keeps a beautiful garden. My only complaints are I was only given one bath towel and there wasnât any extra to be found in the unit. I didnât want to go upstairs to ask as it was very late when I discovered it. Also, the temperature was a bit cold for me and I didnât see a thermostat. However, Iâd stay again and just make sure I requested another towel and come with warmer clothing. Her house is very close to my best friendâs, and I visit a couple times a year.
This was a quiet and comfortable place I'd recommend for those visiting the northern piedmont of Virginia. It's not far from multiple presidential homes including Montpelier (James Madison's home and the site of the Fall Fiber Festival and Sheep Dog Trials), Monticello and Highland (James Monroe's house). Both Shenandoah National Park nd the Civil War battlefields surrounding Fredericksburg are less than an hour way.
The bed was very comfortable, with lots of blankets. The couch was spacious. There was plenty of hot water for showers. There were lovely flower beds and a nice oak grove in the back.
The owners live on site and are really friendly. It was fun to chat with them.
There's also good BBQ in Gordonsville at BBQ Exchange and plenty of other BBQ places, if you want to eat your way through the area!
I definitely recommend staying here, especially if you have plans to visit many of the nearby sites.
My husband and I really enjoyed our night stay here. Yard was beautiful, hosts were very friendly and accommodating, suite was very clean and had everything we needed.
