This review is more than long over due! We broke up our trip between Tulum and Akumal. For the second half of our trip, this certianly didn't disappoint! If you've gotten a chance to watch Mexico Life, and saw this property, you know what you're getting. You truly can't top this balcony view! We're a family of 4, 2 adults, 2 kids (10 & 13 at the time). Our girls loved snorkeling in Half Moon Bay! They saw everything but turtles. The bay extends hundreds of yards from the shoreline and is very shallow in most spots. My worry before heading down was the current. With the barrier reef, it wasn't anything to worry about. We had a chance to see tangs, wrasses, cow fish, octopi, shrimp, just steps from your place! We didn't see turtles in HMB, but you can head over to Akumal Bay and get a guide. It was wonderful. The staff on site were friendly, and answered all my questions! They worked tirelessly to clear out the saragassum that was headed our way. The night life isn't crazy, but with 2 kids, that wasn't what we were looking for. I would recommend this place to anyone! You're not too far from the Tulum Ruins, or a number of cenotes along the highway. I would recommend the fish tacos at La Buena Vida! Tell 'em, Nick sent ya! That doesn't mean anything to them, but a WHOLE lot to me. :) The monkey Sanctuary was a wonderful experience and it's just a few miles from your place. Ya Kul, is within walking distance from your place. A bottle of wine is the perfect end of your evening on this balcony with the moon over the bay and the warm breeze hitting your face. I hope you get a chance to enjoy this place as much as my family and I did! I'm trying to talk my wife into coming back here. We'll see...
Anyone considering this place w/ poor knees, you'll be climbing 3 flights of stairs as they don't have an elevator. It's not for everyone, for perfect for most.
Cheers!
