Island Winds West is a family-friendly beachfront resort that is within walking distance of fine-dining, shopping and concert/festival venues. Some activities include: charter fishing boats, boat & jet ski rentals, Para-sailing, dolphin cruises, sunset sailboat cruises, beautiful back bays for boating, tubing, skiing and fishing, amusement parks, great restaurants with entertainment for all ages, golf, outlet malls, live concerts at The Wharf Amphitheater, and of course, plenty of sugary sand beaches.

Wonderful!

The condo was super clean. This was most important to us. View was amazing! At last, a property that was exactly like the pictures! Wonderfully stocked. Close to many restaurants. Highly recommend. We will be back.

Fall break with the grandkids

We had a great stay. Condo was very clean with awesome beach views from our balcony. Loved the reclining sectional sofas in the living room. Location was near some good restaurants in Gulf Shores. Would highly recommend this condo and will definitely book again.

Great location. Great decor

We really enjoyed staying here. So pretty inside and super convenient to everything. Be aware that HOA apparently controls parking and they charge you almost 50 dollars per spot if you don’t rent directly from the building. This was not clear to us so unhappy about that. Otherwise pool was nice beach was great. Would recommend to friends or family.

Fabulous view. Great location.

Front and center view of the beach! Walking distance to gift shops, liquor store, The Hangout (super fun, upbeat restaurant with great food and entertainment). Parking pass for a week was only $45. We brought our own bc it wasn’t in the listing, but there was a highchair, beach toys and boogie boards in a closet! Wish had known and could’ve packed less. The outlets are tricky. Make sure switches are turned on and then they work for a bit and may just stop randomly. Didn’t figure out why- just switched to a different outlet. Plenty of extra pillows and blankets. Some of the handles were coming off the pans. If you need a big skillet- bring it, only small ones. The wheel kept falling out of one of the kitchen chairs- just pushed it back in. Comfy place! Had a great time! Pool was nice and warm. Would definitely recommend!

Best location in Gulf Shores

Even though we had really bad traffic driving down, it was absolutely wonderful coming in to a clean condo with everything listed on the website. They had luggage carts and shopping carts available, which helped me immensely with three adults, and two children. The lobby was clean, security was around at all times, the beach was so accessible in the pool was lovely. I would suggest this location and this management company to friends and family. I would actually stay here again.

Great location and roomy

Really good location. Right on the beach. Nice building that was within walking distance of restaurants and stores. The condo was big and roomy for our family of 7. Overall it was good but the condo could definitely use some updating in the bedrooms and bathrooms.

Checkin problems

We had some major check-in problems. (The guest before us we’re refusing to leave and cops had to be called) The property manager and the place we rented through did an amazing job and we’re extremely apologetic. They compensated us extremely well and made sure we were taken care of. I would definitely rent from them again. They couldn’t help that the previous renters were ridiculous. So just wanted to say thanks again for being so apologetic and caring towards your guest. We will most definitely rent again.

Beautiful view of the gulf!

Condo was clean, and had plenty of bed space for 6 adults. The view of the beach was great. We had an electrical issue and maintenance came and fixed it. The pots and pans are a bit rusty and need replaced. The washer and dryer setup is not good at all. hard to get clothes in and out of washer. dryer doesn't dry clothes very well. We still had a great time.

Fantastic Windows and Balcony

Overall we had a great stay. There were two big problems when we first arrived. The front door code did not work. We had to call an emergency number to get in that first night. They gave us a one time code to get in, then we had to wait until mid morning the next day to get another code before leaving the condo. Also, when we arrived that night, we had no running water in the condo. Had to call maintenance which came up and simply turned the water back on. We didn't know why it was turned off initially. The best part of the condo is that it is an end unit which has a fabulous view out a large bank of windows and balcony. The decor is pretty dated, but very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. Other than the issues stated above, we had a great time.

Great location on a budget

Pool was not terribly crowded, beach location good, very close to all the happenings in both OB and GS. Condo is dated, room key didn’t work and took us a minute to get sorted, but after that all good. Condo space is tight so maybe not for big families, but works well for a small group near everything. overall a good stay.

Great Proximity to heart of GS - Needs a good scrubbing

Our stay was fine. This is the first time we rented a condo in the hear of GS vs a Private House in Orange Beach. The overall condo facility was somewhat tired, and the condo while as advertised set up wise, needs a really good top to bottom scrubbing. Walking distance to heart of GS was a huge plus for sure. Property Manager was quick re respond with all inquiries!

Beautiful Condo, Communication lacking

This is the first time I have stayed in the busier part of Gulf Shores so I was a little worried about the busyness, but it was great. The kids loved being within walking distance to a lot of the stores. The beach was not really crowded and we had plenty of space for our large family every day. The condo was beautiful and very clean. The door code did not work when we got there but a quick phone call and we easily got a new one. My only issue with the stay, was the lack of communication regarding the dryer not working. When I called to report the issue, I was told they had maintenance fix it too many times and it was going to have to be replaced. We packed knowing we could do laundry so it would have been nice to know there was an issue. Maintenance came to measure and said someone would be in contact with me. No one called. When I reported the issue, I asked for extra towels and was told housekeeping would bring us some, but they never did. The lack of communication is my only complaint, everything else was beautiful!! The view was amazing!!!

Convenient/Comfortable!

Space and location was awesome! We had 6 people and we fit comfortably. Walkable to all a lot of stores and right by the Hangout! Would stay there again. Quiet/end unit with beach views.
