A Romantic Get-Away in Your Own Private Retreat

Welcome to Merehaven Forest Cottage! Merehaven is 16 acres of virgin forestland. The cottage, in its rustic setting, is a recently built, 1-bedroom, 1-bath house that comfortably sleeps 1-2 guests (or up to 4). You’ll find it nestled down among old trees. With its large paved patio, it overlooks a private pond that plays host to a wide array of beautiful and captivating wildlife, all while offering forest, valley and mountain views beyond. The property is just 10 minutes to downtown Leavenworth.
Amenities include:
California King bed, ceiling fans, over-sized shower, fully equipped kitchen, year-round Jacuzzi hot tub, wood-burning stove with glass door, Internet, WiFi, TV, Blu-ray player, sound system, local telephone, full-sized appliances, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, washer/dryer, air conditioning, and gas BBQ.
Our charming forest cottage is your place to stay.
Merehaven is a private property offering private lodging accommodation in our forest cottage to select individuals. The grounds and driveway are maintained, which means somebody may be on the property servicing the hot tub, watering the lawn, gardening, landscaping, plowing the driveway, etc. It is not a remote mountain cabin offering an experience of human isolation and hermitage. If you have any questions, or special needs, feel free to ask before booking. We want your stay to be a wonderful one!
Please note that during winter months, due to a long, inclined, gravel driveway, guests must have snow tires, and/or four wheel drive on their vehicles. 2 wheel drive with all-season tires is NOT adequate.
Typically there is a 3-night minimum stay, holidays have longer minimums. Thanksgiving has a 4-night minimum. Christmas and New Year's have 5-night minimums.
Check-in is 4-8pm. Early check-in from 2pm is available, schedule permitting. Check-in from 8-10pm is available for a $40 fee. No check-ins after 10pm. Travel over the mountain passes can be dangerous. Because of this, we recommend that guests travel during daylight hours.
We do recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance.

Can't say enough good stuff!

My lady friend and I still can't quite believe how lucky we got finding this spot on short notice. We're hard-pressed to come up with anything negative to say about it. The location is spectacular: total seclusion, well-maintained grounds (including some spectacular hibiscus flowers, which bloomed the whole week we were there), and a wonderful combination of sun and shade. Inside, everything you need is there -- and the AC works like a champion. The hot tub is *so* clutch -- perfect for star and moon gazing and for catching some morning rays. If anything, the photos in the listing don't do it justice. Book without hesitation, book with supreme confidence!

Not so private

I loved this cottage but it doesn’t feel very private. The owner comes to the cottage unannounced to do yard work so you never know when you won’t be alone. I have stayed there twice and thought maybe the first time was a one off. But I only stayed a couple days my second time and he still showed up to water the grass in the middle of my stay. The worst part about that is he starts the sprinklers and then leaves, so you end up waiting all day for him to come back. That’s just not what you want when you rent a “private” cottage. He also greets you at the cottage when you check in and stays for over an hour cleaning and doing yard work. Both times he was still cleaning when I arrived 15 minutes before check in. This is the only rental where I’ve experienced any of this. The cottage is lovely and the actual property is private, but you won’t have privacy.

Beautiful escape close to everything

If you want seclusion in a beautifu setting that is close to everything but away from the business of Leavenworth then this is yiour place! The cabin was perfect for the two of us, with a great kitchen, comfy bed and cozy space to hang out in front of a wood stove. The hot tub was perfect after a day of skiing, and we lucked out and saw a bobcat walk through the property while soaking in the heat. The 4WD requirement is a good one, as the driveway has steep spots. Brad also came and plowed twice during our week-long stay, ensuring we had no issues getting in or out. We're already planning to come back again next year and appreciated the special touches and treats left by our host.

Lovely weekend getaway

Wonderful, peaceful get-away. Brad met us onsite and walked us through everything we needed to know. The cottage was perfect for a relaxing weekend away and so close to Leavenworth making it easy to spend the day in town. It had everything we needed to relax and recharge!

The cottage and property are absolutely beautiful. It is quiet and secluded, but also close enough to town to easily get groceries or hit some tourist attractions. Brad was a very thorough and friendly host.

Gorgeous stay, no privacy

If you are looking privacy this is not the spot for you. The house and grounds are beautiful however we had a difficult time enjoying our stay due to the owner being on the property most days. When we asked him for privacy he informed us we were renting the cabin not the grounds. The listing seems as though it will provide privacy and a gorgeous backyard to hang out in however we did not feel so comfortable since the owner was around so often. AC and wifi work well.

Private scenic getaway

Easy check in process. Brad met us there and provided a thorough overview of the place. It was a short drive into Leavenworth but we mostly enjoyed how private and peaceful the cabin was. Amazing place to unplug and enjoy watching the local wildlife that was attracted to the private pond on the property.

Lovely, serene property!

Perfect for a romantic getaway! Or even a solitary holiday! Privacy and nature in spades. The host is the perfect combination of personable and hands off and although the property is secluded it is only a quick drive to Leavenworth, Cashmere or Wenatchee. Loved out stay!

Clean, quiet and relaxing

The cottage is well stocked and perfect for a couples getaway. It's set in a quiet little pocket that feels secluded yet is close to Leavenworth and Cashmere. We enjoyed coming back for relaxing evenings in the hot tub and a movie or two. The property has a little pond, is wooded and we saw some wildlife while there. Brad was an excellent host, friendly, informative and available for questions. It was a wonderful place to stay.

Cute Cabin Getaway

My fiancé and I rented the listing to celebrate her promotion and my new job offer. It was a welcome retreat from the city. The house is secluded and cozy. We were very happy with the stay. One thing that could have been better was the check-in process. The owner walked us through everything you might need to know about the house, but it would have been good to have some of that info in a binder or other hard copy. For instance, we tried to start the fireplace, but didn't know that this would not be possible with the air running. He likely told us this during check in, but we did not retain the info. All in all a great spot though.

The perfect cabin for a winter get-away! Very conveniently located to visit Leavenworth, yet private enough to feel in the middle of nowhere as you look up at the stars from the hot tub.

Property manager is very responsive. The cabin was absolutely quaint, with a wonderful sense of style and little extras to boot. We will definitely be returning in the spring!

Lovely cottage. All of the amenities we could need. Beautiful views. Peaceful and quiet but still close to Leavenworth and Cashmere. Comfy bed. Brad was a great host!
