We had 3 families stay here, it worked out perfect. The 12 of us booked a float trip with Trukees down the road we floated on the 11 point river for 5 hours. Pocahontas is not party central and we really enjoyed the quietness of the area.
The house was just as expected - very clean and in a quiet neighborhood. They've put in a lot of time to make this home modern and comfortable. Check it out if you are in the area and need a place to stay!
We recently rented this property for our hunting trip. The house is nice, clean and in a great location. The set up is great for a large group, with plenty of space to spread out. The fenced in backyard is an added bonus, especially because they allow dogs. We rented this property for 2 weekends back to back and will plan to rent again in the future. Host is very responsive!
Really enjoyed staying at this lovely rock home. The location is great and in a quiet area. There's plenty of room in the back yard for grilling and play. Bedrooms are set up nicely and with large tv's. Plenty of kitchen space with up to date appliances. Would definitely consider staying here again should the opportunity come up.
My family live in SW Oklahoma⊠Sometimes unthinkable things happen⊠we had to bring my dad home for his memorial and as sad as all that was our stay at the Jansen Farm House was a pleasant stay with good accommodations. Even under sad circumstances we had good family time and made unforgettable memories⊠I would recommend this place highly and would like to stay there again on further trips homeâŠ
My great-grandfather built this house in the 1930s using stones he found on his land. My grandmother and her 12 brothers and sisters were all raised in this house. I grew up visiting my grandmother who lived next door and I loved hearing stories about what it was like back when there were no other houses or buildings and everything was pasture. I loved hearing about how my great-grandmother would honk her car horn to signal to all of the kids helping in the fields to come in for supper. I adore the story about how my great-grandfather would drink whisky in the parlor with the doctor while my great-grandmother was laboring in her bedroom waiting to give birth and how mad she would be at both of them. Recently my great-aunt told us about how she used to climb out her bedroom window upstairs and sit on the roof and watch the stars. This house has witnessed so much love that I was compelled to buy it when I had the chance. Renovating it has been a labor of love and my mother did most of the work. I came in at the end to give my opinions on furniture, door handles and fixtures. We are excited to share the charm and comfort of this home with visitors.
Located 60 seconds from the highway, yet still tucked deep inside a very quiet neighborhood, this house will give you the best of both worlds. A peaceful place to spend time and sleep well, and easy access to "town" where you will find lots of restaurants, shops and charm. Pocahontas is a unique town with amazing natural resources all around. There are 5 rivers flowing through this town and it is a great home base for the nature lover.
