Island House sits on 4.5 completely private Block Island acres. Built in 2020 and designed by an award winning architect, the sleek and contemporary structure compliments the natural environment. As you enter the house, you are greeted with modern minimalism that is, at the same time, warm and inviting. The open floor plan brings sunlight into each room through floor to ceiling windows, with the views of Island and Ocean continuing on the surrounding porches and decks.

The main floor encompasses a great room for dining, cooking and living, as well as an alcove study with a built-in work desk, mudroom with cubbies, and a half bath. The chef’s kitchen includes high-end appliances with Sub-Zero fridges, Wolf oven and cooktop, Bosch dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, as well as a Weber gas grill outside. The dining room table comfortably seats eight, and the kitchen island includes four more counter stools.

The second floor includes three bedrooms. The master suite has a king size bed, an ensuite with a rain shower and curbless entry, and a wrap around balcony with 180 degree views of the Atlantic Ocean and Long Island Sound. Another bedroom has a queen size bed and west-facing and north-facing floor to ceiling windows. The third bedroom consists of a queen over a queen bunk bed and a twin over a twin bunk bed made to support adults or children, and a north-facing floor to ceiling window. A full bath with tub/shower combination sits at the end of the hallway.

The lower level has an LG washer/dryer set, and a queen size bed for extra space for flexible sleeping arrangements. The house includes two zone central AC and forced hot air, YouTube TV and strong wifi for working, learning or playing from home.

There is a large outdoor rain shower off the east deck. On the west deck there is a dining table underneath a pergola that can seat eight and comfortable outdoor furniture for relaxing on those lazy summer days (Spring and Summer only). Ample space on the outside lawns for games and family fun including a pond for skating or fishing or kayaking. Large outdoor fire pit for those cool summer nights.

Great house!

Great, clean, new home rental! Private setting with firepit, gas grill and excellent amenities. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Exactly as described and expected. Awesome time!

Block Island has always been our love, our "happy place." We started out coming to the island for a weekend here and there. Then we stayed for a week, but that wasn't enough. A week turned into two, three, four week stays until we realized, we didn't ever want to leave. We would walk the beach and dream of how we could make Block Island our home. Every trip to the island turned into a house tour as we would bug the local Realtor to take us from house to house. Before long, we knew every house that was for sale on the island.

Then, a few years ago, we came upon a parcel of land that we could not walk away from. With over 4 acres of land and views all the way to the mainland of Rhode Island, we knew this is where we would build a home that would last generations.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

We hired an award winning architect to design a modern, sleek, efficient, and beautiful home. He did just that. The minimalistic composition of the house is truly a work of art. Every inch was thought about and no space was wasted. Oversized floor to ceiling windows capture the amazing views, allow ample sunlight to fill the house, and enhance the natural environment of the secluded property.
We are overwhelmed with joy and gratitude to be able to build on this land, but even more grateful to finally call Block Island our home.
