Luxury and Old World Charm in Historic Midtown

In the heart of Memphis is this 1925 English Tudor home with historic charm and modern amenities. This spacious home is perfect for family get togethers or couples retreats. The modern eat-in kitchen offers all the essential cookware, upscale dishes and seating for 8 as well as a bar with all essentials. Dining room, den with large TV and formal living room downstairs. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms, all with plush luxury pillow top queen mattresses, luxurious Egyptian cotton linens and two bathrooms.

This is an amazing house with tons of charm and comfort. Unlike most short term rentals, this home feels like just that - a home and not generic hotel feel. The home is perfect for gatherings of two or three couples or families meeting in Memphis. The modern kitchen is fully stocked with upscale cookware and dishes. There is seating for 10 in the kitchen and the formal dining room seats 8-10. The den is cozy and has a large flat screen TV. All the bedrooms have TVs and updated bathrooms. Nexflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime available on all TVs. There is a deck with seating for up to 10, dining for 6-8 and an outdoor fire pit. In the master bath is a spa room and in-house massages can be arranged for guests.

Please note that this is a seasonal home for the owners and personal belongings are in the master closets, but there is plenty of space for guests to put their items. Empty hangers are available in all closets.

Lots of cooking hardware, gorgeous, comfy, a treasure trove of books, and a phenomenal Steinway grand piano. Born and raised in Memphis and this is the house I covet the most. Like, Mortal-sin-level covetousness.

Had reserved another house from this host with another booking site months in advance but had him cancel it days before we were to check-in. As this was a special occasion we had to find someplace else to stay. Went to VRBO and found another property that would work at more than twice the price. Booked it. But it was cancelled the next day and it turns out it was the same host. His explanation for the first house was a limb had fallen and repairs would not be finished in time and for the second house a bathroom was being worked on. So it would appear that either the host was having a really bad week or he suddenly realized he could get more money for that first house as it was graduation weekend in Memphis. And while I'm not sure about the second house I do find it strange that it was listed on VRBO but suddenly cancelled due to a problem.

A Touch of Class

The Central Gardens property is located in a very upscale neighborhood of Memphis. Although it is in the historic Midtown section of Memphis, it is only a very short drive (10 minutes or less) to downtown (Beale Street, Sun Studio, the Rock and Soul Hall of Fame, Belz Museum of Asian and Judaic Art, the Bass Glass Pyramid, The Peabody, The National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine, etc.). There are multiple areas to shop nearby (e.g., an excellent Kroger's grocery store is just a 2 minute drive). The property itself is a luxurious and most lovely home that is exceptionally well decorated and full of charm. Of all of my world travels and staying often in VRBO properties, this is undoubtedly the most beautiful one. Additionally, it is a very clean property, with terrific A/C, 2 washers/dryers, a most spacious master bedroom and bathroom as well as the two guest bedrooms that are roomy and most gracefully decorated.. It is hard to describe in words how spectacular this property is. By the way, one can park one's car safely in the property as the entrance to the parking area in the back area of the property is gated. Furthermore, the host (Gabe) was terrific. He provided many recommendations for places to see in Memphis as well as restaurants to try (nearby and in town). Whenever we had any questions, he was quick to respond. Overall, if you truly want to add a touch of class to your stay in Memphis, this is the place that you want to select..

Beautiful/clean home and neighborhood!

We loved our stay in Memphis due to this beautiful home. Gabe was incredibly kind and accommodating to my family who stayed at his property. It was so cozy and we loved our evenings hanging out in the living room or on the back patio sipping a glass of wine and spending time together. Thank you Gabe for coming through for us after our original host suddenly cancelled my original reservation just days before we flew into Memphis. We cannot thank you enough!

The house is excellent, lives up to its photos and description, and Gabe, the host, is quite friendly and communicative. We even met up for dinner with Gabe and his girlfriend downtown at one point. It was a very good stay.

Amazing historic Memphis home decorated with meticulous attention to detail. Perfect location, private and had everything our family could possibly need. Loved the deep soaker tub in mater bath, laundry amenities, space to spread out in the house for a family of 6. Private and secure parking in back with a fabulous deck and yard to enjoy perfect spring weather. Excellent recommendations from the owners as far as places to see, things to do and recommendations for dining and shopping. Excellent and impeccable.

Pictures do not do it justice

This is a gorgeous historic home in a beautiful neighborhood very convenient to area attractions and dining. It was like staying in a museum. Pictures do not do it justice. It is beautifully decorated and extreme clean. This is a very refined home and I don’t think a place for young children. My only recommendations are to provide a hair dryer and toaster and instructions for oven. No biggies. Everything was wonderful. Thank you for sharing your home and great restaurant suggestions. We loved Boscos.

Great home and great location!

We enjoyed our stay in Memphis and were absolutely delighted with this beautiful property. This is a charming old home in the beautiful central gardens area of Memphis — convenient to downtown and all kinds of other local attractions. The decor combines exquisite antiques with modern convenience. The fully appointed kitchen and stunning dining room made for an elegant Thanksgiving feast! We hope to stay here again.
