Family-Friendly Lake House & Hunters Lodging

Lake house on 2258 acre Portage lake! It is situated on a one acre lot with with 100’ of private lake frontage. Large lawn with fire pit and covered picnic table. Large wrap around deck that overlooks the lake. The perfect spot for your family vacation. This is also a prime location for hunters! This is a 4 bedroom house with a kitchen, dining room and a large living room. The 4th bedroom is in the lower section of the house which has French doors that open to a large covered patio facing the lake. This bedroom has a queen bed and a futon. House has great WiFi service! TV in the main living room with streaming capabilities through a Roku. It has a full bathroom with tub and shower, a washer and dryer, a fully equipped kitchen with a standard sized gas stove with oven, a full size refrigerator and a microwave. Dock is available from June 15 to September 15. The boat launch is just a mile down the road for easy access to the lake. There is a general store 3 miles away that also has a grill that offers great pizza, burgers, etc for those days when you just don’t want to cook! Just 2 miles down the road is the Fish River Entrance to the North Maine Woods giving you access to hundreds of miles of dirt roads to explore as well as access to Deboullie Public Land Preserve that offers 25 miles of hiking trails that weave you to and around spectacular ponds/lakes and mountains. Pack a backpack with your favorite lunch, swimsuit and towel as this makes a nice day trip from the house! Portage lakes is part of a five lake chain connected by Fish River affording you miles of river to canoe/kayak. This is snowmobile and ATV country!! Hundreds of miles of excellent riding is available on ITS trails right from the lake. The Portage lake area is an outdoor enthusiasts dream!

For winter renters: While the driveway is a solid dirt driveway that we keep plowed, it is steep and you will NOT get in or out without chains and 4 wheel drive - for sure! There is no room to turn around a snowmobile trailer. That being said, there is a plowed spot at the top of the driveway, on the road, for parking but you’ll need to walk down the driveway the camp.
