Escape into the woods only 18 miles from The University of Alabama campus as you experience this private retreat with just a quick 20 minute drive to UA campus.
This property features a spacious cabin for entertaining and relaxing that comfortably sleeps 8-10, with beautiful wrap around porches, dining tables, scenic waterfront views. There is a separate “Well House” that has a bar, seating, refrigerator, pier, with cafe lights, bluetooth stereo, and satellite tv to watch football waterfront.
There is plenty of acreage with a yurt for camping and exploring.
Our extra Outdoor Shower offers a unique experience to shower under the stars.
With a Private 6 acre lake and 2 other ponds for fishing, there are plenty of waterfront views.
Enjoy the Pier for fishing or having a relaxing meal overlooking the water at sunset.
You will find plenty of trails for hiking, and connecting with nature with scenic overlooks offering great views of the landscape and sunsets.
We have a custom Fire pit with plenty of seating for enjoying evening campfires and smores.
Activities including corn hole, disc golf, and horseshoes.

Almost heaven

This place was incredibly peaceful and fun! The kitchen was fully stocked and excellent for cooking family dinners. The hosts were very attentive. The views, hiking, fishing, relaxing, fire pit made the place perfect for an amazing time!

We enjoyed our stay & wish we could have stayed longer! The hosts were excellent & communicated everything about our stay very thoroughly! So peaceful- I loved having coffee on one of the rocking chairs on the front porch! Would definitely return! We had a great visit to Tuscaloosa, the property is incredible with a great cabin, thoroughly stocked with EVERYTHING you need. The property owners were so helpful, even provided worms for my son to fish. Only 20 min drive to UA campus. We definitely will be back!

Alabama Football Weekend 🏈

This property was the perfect weekend getaway for our Alabama football weekend with family and friends. The cabin is beautiful and well maintained with everything you could ever need from cooking in, grilling out, and s’mores by the fire. Located on a stunnning lakeside backdrop with lots to do from hiking, fishing, outdoor games and waterfront bar with TV hookup. Erin and William were exceptional hosts who greeted us upon arrival, stayed in contact for anything we needed and provided great recommendations for the area. We can’t wait to plan our next getaway to Wood Haven, thank you for your hospitality, Roll Tide!

A Slice of Heaven in the Woods

Wood Haven Retreat and Farm did not disappoint—if anything, it exceeded every expectation! Referred to as "A Slice of Heaven," this name couldn’t be more fitting. We stayed here to celebrate my son’s graduation from the University of Alabama, and the experience made the milestone even more special.The cabin was warm, welcoming, and incredibly well-equipped with all the amenities a family could need. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax, yet the cozy atmosphere brought us closer together.During our stay, we truly soaked in everything the property had to offer—fishing, kayaking, hiking through peaceful trails, sharing laughs and stories around the campfire. It was the perfect setting for family bonding and celebration, nestled in a quiet, serene spot deep in the woods.I’m already hoping to return for son #2’s graduation from UA. Wood Haven is a gem, and I can’t recommend it enough to anyone looking for a peaceful, private, memory-making getaway!

Wood “heaven” would be a more accurate description!

The Woodhaven cabin was the absolute perfect property for our family to gather for Bama vs. Ole Miss football game weekend. With more than ample room for the 9 of us, all slept very comfortably. The cabin itself has every amenity you can possibly imagine right down to the cocktail strainer!! The property is as private as it can be, overlooking a beautiful pond from the ample porch and rocking chairs and from the tiki bar (complete with flat screen TV and drink fridge) or the lovely pier. With 3 grills, a fire pit, yard games, walking trails and fishing, there was something entertaining for everyone. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer. Erin, our host, could not have been more accommodating. Just a lovely lovely place!!

UA Graduation

I can’t even put into words how wonderful this was! We were there because my son was graduating from the University of Alabama. My family converged at the cabin from five different states. We were all able to stay there comfortably. My son had friends over the night before graduation. We had a bonfire outside, there were two different piers to sit on in addition to the wraparound porch. There was a place for everybody to go. At one point, all of the college grads were out at one of the piers (equipped with a tiki bar) and a stereo equipped with Bluetooth. So, here are all these 22 year old guys, belting out “Sweet Caroline” at the top of their lungs! It’s a memory I will always keep. The next morning, we all went on a walk on one of the dozens of hiking trails on the property. I wish we could’ve stayed there longer, so we could’ve taken advantage of the kayaks they had. The grounds were so beautiful, we ended up taking a lot of the graduation pictures there, which we hadn’t even planned to do. The kitchen was equipped with EVERYTHING you would need! They had a fridge stocked with bottled water, in addition to four bags of ice in the freezer for us. They could not have been better hosts! As difficult as it was to pull off a graduation party being planned in Wisconsin, but implemented in Alabama, Erin sure helped make it easy!

Perfect Woodland Getaway

A true gem of a VRBO property outside of Tuscaloosa. Our stay was great. The property owners have thought of everything with regards to comfort and activities for your stay! The cabin includes plenty of outdoor sports and game sets to keep the family entertained. Hiking trails and the fishing porch were a big hit with our kids. We enjoyed the basketball hoop as well. When we arrived the grill was ready to go and logs were stacked in the fire pit! Close enough to easily get into Tuscaloosa, but far enough out to truly disconnect. Cell signal and Satellite TV worked well. We would absolutely recommend this property.

Amazing property and wonderful owner!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. The owner communicated throughout the whole process and checked on our stay often. The place had everything we needed! Plenty of room, and close enough to town, yet in a very serene setting.

Our families own this property that we purchased during 2020 as we wanted to have a place close to home to get away during the pandemic. We realized others would also possibly enjoy retreating to nature close to home and decided to list this property. We see this as an opportunity to host retreats and accommodate families who come to town for graduation and football games at UA. This is a special place that helps you be near town and get away in the tranquil woods.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

This property was formerly Ingram Farms and was set up to have recreation and farming with a nice log cabin installed in 2005. It is a pristine setting that you immediately feel restored and renewed when you hear the birds, feel the breeze, and see the sunlight shining through the trees and glistening over the water. It is only 1.7 miles off Highway 82 and a straight shot to campus only 18 miles away.

Plenty of room for parking, setting up additional tents, having your pets, extra friends and family join you while you are vacationing here. You are able to have your child's graduation party, photos, and meals without having to reserve additional venues in town.
