"Big Grey", our fully renovated to-the-studs, 1870 historic home, is located in the beautiful Victorian Village - just a 10-minute walk to the trendy Short North's popular restaurants, bars, and small shops!
We host pets for a $50 fee per dog per day, max $200/month per dog. See allowable dog breeds in Notes below.
There are 4 parking spots available behind the home. EV Charger/See photo
Additional on-street parking is $5/day. Pet and parking fees may be adjusted after the reservation is made.
We are available to guests by email, phone, or text. We know our neighborhood very well (!) and care about our community- let us know when you need something or have questions!
The Short North Arts District is one of the Midwestâs best kept secrets. There is a huge variety of unique shops, bars and restaurants, and art galleries along High Street and a number of annual events that take place year-round. We have a thorough list of recommendations in the house to local bakeries, cafes, and restaurants.
You will have access to the entire home and fenced backyard.
The spacious main floor, fenced-in backyard with firepit, and many bedrooms make this house the perfect place to entertain or enjoy a relaxing night in. The first floor of this house is open and comfortable. There is an all-seasons sunroom, a dining room with a large table, a breakfast table, and an open living room and kitchen with island barstools. There is plenty of seating in this house. The smart TV, sans cable service, is set up for your personal streaming accounts. The first floor also has a mudroom with a half bath. The kitchen is supplied with every tool and small appliance you need to prepare a decent meal, along with some cooking staples such as olive oil, salt, and pepper. A drip coffee machine with Folgers coffee, teas, creamer, and sugar is also at the ready.
On the second floor, you will find 3 spacious bedrooms, 2 of which have full bathrooms. There is also a laundry closet on this floor with a washer and dryer.
The third floor is an open space with 2 queen beds, a desk, and a full bathroom with a walk-in shower.
The backyard is perfect for entertaining. There is a back porch and fenced yard with a firepit. A grill is provided to make the outdoor space perfect for entertaining.
Please notify us upon booking if you are bringing your pet pup. Pet damages/stains are subject to additional fees for replacement, etc. For insurance purposes we do not allow the following dog breeds: Akita, Chow, American Staffordshire Terrier, Pitbull, Rottweiler, Doberman Pinscher, Wolf hybrids, Presa Canarios, or any mix of these breeds/any dog with a bite history.

There is an additional guest fee per person/night for the 7th guest and up. The guest fee will be calculated on the quote breakdown when entering the correct guest count into the reservation or inquiry. Only registered, paying overnight guests are permitted at the residence. The guest fees allow us to offer the home at cost effective prices to small and large groups (example- a home can sleep 10+ guests but a lower rate allows 2-4 guests to rent it as well). Please ensure you have the correct guest count and make any changes before the start of your reservation. Refunds for additional guest fees are under the hostâs discretion.
For insurance purposes, we do not allow the following dog breeds: Akita, Chow, American Staffordshire Terrier, Pitbull, Rottweiler, Doberman Pinscher, Wolf hybrids, Presa Canarios, or any mix of these breeds/any dog with a bite history.
All pet waste must by promptly removed and disposed of by the pet owner. If feces are left behind, a $20 fee will be charged for cleanup. Thank you for helping us maintain a clean and pleasant environment for all guests!
We observe quiet hours from 9PM to 9AM. There is a noise monitor in this home to help keep noise to acceptable levels for all guests and our neighbors. This measures sound decibels only, no recordings or anything of that nature. If there is a noise issue, please feel free to contact us and vice versa, we will contact you.
We provide starter quantities of essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, dish pods, and laundry pods (typically 2 of each) to help you get started. We also supply shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for your convenience, along with coffee, creamer etc.
For longer stays or if you need more during your visit, we kindly ask that you pick up any additional supplies you may need. This helps us keep our rentals affordable and eco-friendly for all guests. Thank you for understanding.
There is no handicap access. There are steps to enter the front and back porches of the house.
Guests with allergies and related medical issues and/or sensitivities- we cannot 100% guarantee that the vacation rental is free of pet dander, cigarette smoke, air fresheners/cleaning product scents, or any other elements that may trigger a medical problem or sensitivity.
House guests have parking for 4 vehicles directly behind the house.
40amp RV outlet for EV charging. Please note that a charging cord is not provided, and guests are responsible for bringing their own.
Permits are available for additional on-street parking at $5/day.
$129.00 non-refundable Damage Waiver fee is REQUIRED for all reservations. Damage waiver covers up to $1,500.00 of accidental damage. Damages deemed intentional or by negligence will not be covered by the damage waiver and will be the sole responsibility of the guest. If Ozone machines are needed due to strong odors of any sort, a $500.00 fee will be incurred by the guest.
For your safety and protection of the home, there are exterior cameras located on the front and rear of the home. There are no interior cameras.
