This nearly original, historic cottage has been described as "A Rustic Wooden Tent" by some and as "Shabby Chic" by others. If you love nature and the minimalistic beauty of life this is the camp for you.
This eclectic, creek side camp has natural waterway access to lower herring lake and lake Michigan. Get ready to enjoy epic Walleye, Brook, Brown, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead) and possibly Coho Salmon fishing. Don't forget about the biking, hiking, lounging, and relaxing with nature. There is conservancy land, and a public boat launch a stones throw away. You can even end your day with a peaceful campfire at our fire pit over looking the creek.
It is an older cottage with a lot of character. Listening to the running river was so tranquil and therapeutic, it was a great way to decompress.Highly recommend.
We had the most wonderful weekend at this charming cabin in the woods. Tucked away in a peaceful setting, it was exactly what our family of four needed to relax and reconnect. The sound of the nearby creek added the perfect natural soundtrack, and we spent hours just soaking in the quiet beauty of the surroundings. The cabin itself was spotlessâtruly one of the cleanest places weâve ever stayed. Everything felt fresh and well cared for, which made settling in so easy. It had all the comforts we needed, while still feeling like a true escape from the hustle of daily life.Whether we were sitting by the creek or simply unwinding, this cabin gave us the perfect backdrop for a memorable family weekend. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unplug and enjoy a serene retreat in nature.
5 adult sisters and our mom stayed for a fun weekend in Frankfort. This cabin appears tiny at first but with the back sleeping porch and the front dining porch, it was plenty of space for 6 adults. Fantastic location with a pretty stream/brook in the backyard. 5 minutes from downtown Frankfort and 10 minutes from Arcadia. Beautiful beaches nearby, and everyone who looked for a petoskey stone found 1 or more.
The home is just as advertised. Itâs a rustic cottage simple amenities. The location is wonderful. It sits along a babbling creek, and Is a short walk to lower Herring Lake where you can enjoy pretty sunsets.
Itâs a quiet, safe location, but only a short drive from Elberta or Frankfort.
We enjoyed our stay at this serene little cottage a few steps to beautiful Lower Herring Lake lake and right on a beautiful little stream. Everything we needed was provided, including wood for a fire in the fire pit. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful getaway.
We really loved sleeping on the porch with the door open and listening to the river. We got spooked a couple times when a critter decided that a late night swim sounded nice LOL! We recommend trying Papanos Pizza as well!!
Incredibly peaceful stay at this cozy cottage. There are plenty of sleeping options, but my favorite was the sleeping porch in the back. The cool night air, the whisper of the wind in the pines and the gurgling of the brook lulls a tired mind to sleep each night. Although we did not have the chance to use them, the kayaks were a welcome surprise, and the fire pit is the perfect place for a good conversation before heading to bed. Prime location close to a lot of trails and quaint towns.
The Cabin was awesome. Very clean and kept. No A/C, but plenty of fans to keep us cool. Loved being right on the creek and the area itâs located is quiet and peaceful.
