The Elm Cottage - 1mi to Frankfort Beach

The Elm Cottage is a bright and renovated vacation rental in the town of Frankfort, perfect for a family vacation or couples getaway!

Six guests can sleep comfortably with a queen bed in the first two bedrooms and two twins in the third. The cottage has one full bathroom which was completely renovated in 2021. A renovated kitchen comes fully stocked with everything you need for a home cooked meal, plus extras including dish soap, dishwasher pods, sponges, and garbage bags.

The property provides the perfect stepping stone for local destinations, with Frankfort Beach and Main Street just a mile away and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore a short drive. An outdoor shower provides the perfect spot to clean off after your adventure.

The shed on property provides many outdoor amenities including beach chairs, beach umbrellas, lawn games, two adult bikes and helmets, and a wagon to complete your trip!

After a long day in the sun, come home to a large backyard with a fire-pit to gather around or get cozy on the large sectional for a game night. Take a walk to downtown Frankfort and check out the shops and restaurants on Main Street!

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. It was very clean and well stocked. We enjoyed being close to town — but not too close. The neighborhood was nice and quiet.

The perfect place for us

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The cottage had everything we needed, and it was the perfect home base for all we wanted to do. Some big pluses were the bikes, the close proximity to downtown Frankfort, and the deck off the back. Thank you!

We loved everything about this house! It was clean and cozy and decorated beautifully. The extras and finishing touches made our stay most enjoyable. The record player, beach chairs and bikes. Walking distance to town, deer in the backyard and the comfy furniture on the patio! We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Getaway

We loved our stay and all of the thoughtful touches. The house is well-stocked, very comfortable and had everything we needed. The bikes were a great perk and we enjoyed riding them around town and to the beach. We loved the area and would definitely come back and stay again.

Family Beach Vacation

The Elm Cottage was a great little house for our family of three. It's a very convenient location and walkable to town. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well-appointed, and the living space was comfortable. The patio and outdoor shower are great touches. We would stay here again!

Perfect!

The cottage is so clean and has all the amenities you could ask for. The beds are super comfortable. It was in a nice neighborhood and conveniently located. We would definitely rent it again if in the area.

Clean and neat with updated decor. Too cold to use the backyard... but looked like fun for summer. Owners did a great job. Place is lovely!

Family Stay

The cottage was great for everything our family needed. Our hosts were kind, responsive, and communicative. The space was super clean and had good communal spaces. Outdoor space was great too. The only addition I'd make would be a patio table near the house for eating outdoors.

Family visit

Enjoyed this comfortable home. Kitchen is well equipped. Linens are lovely. Our best experiences were enjoying the deck and building a bonfire. My suggestion is for grab bars in the shower.

The Elm Cottage was perfect for our double family vacation! There were 4 adults and 3 children under 10 in the cottage and no one felt cramped. The kitchen and dining room were perfect for us and we could all sit together for our big breakfasts. The cottage was perfectly equipped with everything and anything you could think of. Ample amount of storage space. Nice neighbors. Perfect yard to let the kids run and let the adults have a nice relaxing fire every night. Plus the outdoor shower was a wonderful perk! Close to the beach and wonderful restaurants. We can't wait to visit again!

Nice location needs some work

We have stayed at many rentals and I will say the location is nice, the neighborhood is quiet and the house is updated. Just a suggestion for the owners is the cleaning service needs to pay more attention to detail. I had to wash the cabinet doors inside and out, the sliding glass door was not clean and had visible hand prints. The outside of the house could be cleaned and updated. Overall a good stay. Thank you!

Maggie & John, owners of The Elm Cottage, reside in the metro Detroit area and travel to northern Michigan whenever they have a free weekend. Their daughter, Elisa, is a Denver, CO resident but returns home to enjoy Lake Michigan every summer.
