Step outside your door and youâre just moments away from private lake access, boat slips, and a fishing dock where guests often share stories, laughter, and the dayâs catch. Spend your mornings watching the sunrise over the water with a fresh cup of coffee, your afternoons boating or swimming, and your evenings around the fire pit under a sky full of stars. Susan is a veteran bridge-builder and negotiator, spending most of her career in journalism and politics. At Valentine, she is focused on the behind-the-scenes details that make for a great guest experience.
The âchicksâ tend to a productive chicken coop and a posse of dogs and cats that customers love to interact with. If Pat gets her way, pygmy goats will join the family soon.

Valentineâs 19 guest rooms range from 1-room efficiencies to 3-bedroom homes, all with fully stocked kitchens, charcoal grills and picnic tables. The RV camp has 8 full hookups and a bath house. Valentine is a great choice for any of lifeâs celebrations, reunions, retreats and company gatherings. Itâs also a base for fishing tournaments, a temporary home for Winter Texans, and a guest house for locals.
Valentinians enjoy a heart-shaped pool, swimming in the lake, boat lifts, water-toy rentals and an on-site essentials store. Plenty of chairs at the shoreline give guests a place to fish and hang out. Mature pecan trees provide a shady canopy for hammock naps. Guests make sâmores in the fire pit and borrow lawn games to play on lakeside terraces.
Despite its remote vibe, Valentine Lakeside is a half mile away from a groceries, restaurants, bars, shops, coffee houses and music venues.
