Screened porch, with view of big water, perfect spot for that morning coffee, either around the porch table or on the porch swing. Short walk to park, shopping and restaurants. Swimming, fishing, crabbing, boating, kayaking, and more at your front door. Located next to the River Forest Manor and Marina. Watch the big boats coming in for the night off the Intracoastal Waterway. And the sunsets are amazing!
Note: Between the home and the water/dock is a quiet residential street , Water Street
The Space
This 1910 style Farmhouse, located on the waterfront in historic Belhaven, NC is the perfect Haven for guests. Large home with plenty of room for everyone to spread out, including two living rooms, both with TV. One living room has a brand new queen sleeper couch Other one features a 85inch 4K Samsung TV. Open concept kitchen and dining area with room for all at the table. Water views from every room. Peaceful and serene.

Other things to note
Highly recommend bringing "water shoes" as the swimming will be in the river.

On the property Sits a very old structure that was once used as a Chicken Coop. Now inside the "Coop" you will find games and chairs for your pleasure, including Croquette, Bocce Ball, Horse Shoes, Chairs for the dock, Noodles and more.

Also, please be aware that the kayaks being stored in the back yard are NOT for Guests. There is a kayak rental company in Washington, River Vibe, that will even bring the kayaks to you. Also Dowry Creek Marina, located close by, rents kayaks .

No Smoking and No Pets please

Please Note: The boat lift is not available for guests to use. However, there is a very nice boat ramp on the same street as the home and guests may tie their boat up to our dock.
One boat please. Boat trailer can be parked in the backyard if necessary

This property was everything I had hoped for! A very lovely and spacious home, with many amenities. We were in Belhaven for a family funeral; however, we were able to relax (especially in the Adirondack chairs on the waterfront)! The host was extremely easy to work with and promptly answered all of my questions very calmly! We would definitely stay at the Haven again!

Loved The Haven and the beautiful water views!

We had a wonderful time in the tranquil town of Belhaven and loved the house! The house’s decor was very tasteful and had beautiful views from most of the rooms. We also enjoyed the dock and the great sunsets. We would definitely stay here again!

Simply The Best

Absolutely the best place we have ever stayed with VRBO. From the moment we entered the house, we knew we were going to experience something very special. Every detail was taken care of. The home was "So Clean" and also decorated tastefully for the holidays! The Children were thrilled with the beautiful Christmas tree. The beds were very comfortable and great accommodations for 2 families with 5 children! The kitchen was great but the dining room table was even better, room for all! Groom Family’s Retreat

The Haven provided a perfect setting for my family the weekend of my son’s wedding at River Forest Manor. We booked the home because of its proximity to the Manor, and that feature was priceless! The charm of the house, the screen porch, the dock, and the chairs by the water provided perfect places to relax and talk with family and friends during the day. We loved the town and the people. Our host communicated with us regularly and made us feel welcomed in The Haven and in Belhaven.

Perfect, perfect, perfect!

This house has everything. It has views of the river, three living rooms, a well stocked kitchen, very attractive bedrooms with comfortable beds, beautiful bathrooms and a screened porch with a swing. There is a dock across the street and Adirondack chairs along with sun umbrellas. The decor is sophisticated and cozy at the same time. The host has excellent taste!

Our Furst Cousins Reunion

The property was a delight to stay in, comfortable rooms and amenities. Space isn't a problem for a large group. Master bedroom and bathroom are huge. Kitchen and dining room are wonderful. We will stay in this place again if we are in the area. Top notch is the house, I'd give it 4 1/2 stars. No full bathroom downstairs, that's why I gave the rating I did.

Best Peaceful Getaway

Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home. It was the perfect quiet getaway for our family. We loved having meal and game time, movie time, crabbing, and enjoying the view. You have decorated the home so thoughtfully and lovely. Everything was comfortable, and we wanted for nothing. We hope we can stay again in the future. We will be having weddings and graduations over the next two years, so we don't know our schedules yet. Hopefully we can visit your wonderful "Haven" again. Love, The Hinmans

Birthday Getaway

The Haven was an excellent choice for our 4-day family birthday celebration. The house is beautiful, very clean, and has lots of room for our group of 6. The location is a short walking distance from town, so we either walked or rode bikes to the restaurants and shops. The neighborhood is also good for walking. We did not get to swim because while we were there the weather was very windy and the water was rough, but we did take advantage of the dock and the Adirondack chairs to enjoy watching the boat traffic, especially the fast boats that were having a "parade" on Saturday. We did catch a few crabs, too. Donna is an excellent host, and is readily available by text/phone to answer questions and give suggestions about places to visit in town. Thank you, Donna, for the welcome gift - a book written by a local author. We would hope to stay at The Haven should we visit this part of the area again!
