”We are in our happy place”. The sign in the bedroom describes exactly how we felt when we stepped into this slice of heaven in Oregon City. Cozy Home Away From Home

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home. The property was clean, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The thoughtful touches and attention to detail were evident throughout. A Natural Wonderland

The address says it all. Cleaved out of an old quarry and on the brink of a gulch, every facet of this expansive and comfortable retreat is a pleasant surprise. An accessible private wilderness in the heart of things.

The accommodations were very nice. Welll equipped kitchen, nice living room and bedroom and the yard was beautiful. The outdoor scenery cannot be beat. The hostess was very friendly and helpful.

The Sanctuary

Our stay at the Stonehouse was perfect. The accommodations were beautiful, spacious, clean, secure, and well appointed. The gardens and grounds were magnificent and provided a lovely setting for us to play outside with our grandchildren and have all our family meals. The hosts were friendly, communicative, and professional. We're looking forward to coming back to stay at the Stonehouse whenever we return to the charming town Oregon City.

A must if you are planning to visit Oregon City!

We decided to book The Stonehouse based upon the unbelievably beautiful setting and appearance of the property, although we wondered: could this place be as amazing as it appears? What others said in prior reviews seemed to confirm what the pictures and description of the property conveyed. Now that we have stayed at the house, we can also say the same. If you are interested in a very quaint and private VRBO in an gorgeous natural setting, look no further! We found this property to be exceptionally clean with everything we could think of to make the stay comfortable and relaxing. The owners are impeccable hosts, working so hard to make your stay the best that it can be, interested in attending to every detail. The surrounding area is very walkable/hikeable and we enjoyed the park near the property, as well as walking to explore the surrounding area. The Stonehouse truly was a home away from home, but even better, as our back yard cannot compare to this one!

Absolutely beautiful inside AND outside

Lovely quiet location with amazing landscaping/views. The inside was super nice, clean and very comfortable. Kitchen supplies and appliances were great. Lighting was good. Also, inside was an amazing stone wall! Bonus: HIKING Trail into Oregon City!

Stonehouse Stay

The setting here is so beautiful. The grounds are immaculate and tended to very lovingly. The apartment was stocked better than any VRBO we have stayed at in the past.. It also looked exactly like it was advertised. Owners were wonderful.

Spectacular setting, wonderful hosts

This property is in the most spectacular setting possible. On the ridge above the Willamette River with views of the entire valley including all the area mountains and downtown Portland. Spectacular sunrises AND sunsets right from the property. Easy walking access to the view point (that you can also drive to) from a trailhead just by the driveway. There is a beautiful outdoor table with 6 chairs, a gas fire table with 4 cushioned chairs, a fire pit with several chairs around, a tire swing!!, flawless landscaping, and the mist goes on. The inside property is very clean with all the modern amenities and everything you could need. The hosts were very prompt in responding to any questions. They were also very kind in giving recommendations for other things to do and see while in the area. Highly recommend!!

Work from your "home away from home" at the Stonehouse

I stayed for three weeks while on a work trip. It was absolutely PERFECT. It was exceptionally clean, quiet, and comfortable inside. The outside was diving, relaxing, and peaceful. Both provided the perfect spot for working and relaxing. It was absolutely the best rental I've ever stayed in. I have recommended it to colleagues since we have lots of work in the area and can't wait to come back on my next trip too! Marlaine and Steve are the kindest and most considerate hosts too. The. Best.

Oregon City visit

We stayed for a week at the property and enjoyed its location very much. A relaxing, quiet home base to escape back to after some busy sightseeing day trips. Nothing like a retreat to the cool pines to put you at ease. The hosts are very communicative and accommodating. They take pride in what they do. The apartment is very comfy and easy to settle in to. Great memories overall.

Excellent experience!

Marlaine and Steve are wonderful hosts and their property is beautiful. We spent a month there while visiting our family in the area. We had any family meals and visits at the site. It was perfect for our needs! The kitchen was stocked with everything I needed, including spices and staples. We will definately return!

AMAZING

The PORCH was a wonderful VRBO and we very much enjoyed both the living quarters and the AMAZING private outside area. The hosts were fantastic- attentive, friendly and helpful. If you enjoy cooking, the kitchen is well stocked. Highly recommend.

A Home Away From Home!!!

I can not recommend this property enough! The setting is breathtaking, surrounded by beautiful trees and a stunning view of Oregon City. There’s a private entrance and easy parking, a stocked kitchen, a comfortable family room, two spacious bedrooms, and a beautiful bedroom. My wife, daughter, and I felt so at home here and were really spoiled by how wonderful the location is. To top it off, the owners are absolutely fabulous. Incredibly kind, helpful, and responsive. They went out of their way to ensure that our stay was comfortable…they even worked with us before checking in to figure out a furniture layout that would work best for us. They were quick to answer any questions we had and just a delight to chat with. Like I said, I can’t recommend this property enough. We even extended our stay by another month because we loved it so much.

The Stonehouse is located in Oregon City. The first city in Oregon. It is a wonderful mix of old and new. We love the diversity of people and the history. Down town is abounding with great food and activities. We love this city.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

This property is a rare find. Even from the driveway entrance you won't see the house till you get to the end of Quarry Street. We are in the city and in the woods. Just the kind of home you think of when you think of Oregon. From your patio there isn't a house in sight, unless you look out over the city. Peace and tranquility, birds and squirrels
, mountains and Portland sky lines off in the distance, and evening sunsets glowing through the trees. Sit on a large boulder left from the old rock quarry and read a book. Swing on an adult size swing and feel like a child again. Or take a nap in one of two hammock chairs. Turn on the patio party lights and have friends over for dinner outside and marshmallows around the fire pit. It can't get much better than this.
