Waterfront cottage with stunning sunset views

This newly renovated cottage has 150' of waterfront on Lake Livingston, and is perfect for a weekend getaway with friends or a week long lake vacation with family. The only surface in the home that is not new is the original pine wood floors. You will enjoy one of the best sunset views on the Lake.

The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The master bedroom has a queen bed and small en suite bathroom with shower. Bedroom two has two twin bunk beds (suitable for 4 children or 2 adults) and bedroom three has two twin beds that can be slid together to make one large bed. Bedrooms 2 and 3 share a full bath with a tub/shower. 2 of the 3 bedrooms have lake views. We provide high thread-count bed linens, toilet paper, paper towels and plush bath towels.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all brand new tools and utensils. It has all new appliances - electric stove, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher and washer & dryer. It has a peninsula with 3 bar stools. We will provide filtered water and coffee. The dining room table seats 8 (two benches and two end chairs).

The living room has a 65" flat screen TV offering a ton of channels as well as streaming capabilities (Netflix etc.). It is adjacent to the large covered porch and has stunning floor to ceiling views of the lake. The cottage is equipped with high-speed internet/wifi. We also have a wide variety of board games, cards games, poker chips and corn hole. We also have a fire pit and marshmallow roasting tools for you to use.

The large covered porch offers seating, rocking chairs, a 5' porch swing, pellet/smoker & gas grill combo and million dollar views. The boat house has a sun deck/swim platform and a rope swing. The water is approximately 6' deep at the bulkhead and 8' off the sun deck. We have a 10' stand-up/sit-down paddle board and a 10' sit-on-top kayak. The neighborhood gazebo with picnic tables is next door to our property and can be used by guests. The Blanchard public boat launch is 2 miles (5 min. drive) away and has user-friendly boat ramp and ample parking for vehicle/trailers.

Perfect getaway

One of our favorite spots. This was our second time to stay & it was every bit as we remembered. Sunsets are AMAZING. Great for fishing. Plenty of room on the dock. Very clean.

I Wish There Was a 10 Star Option!!!

Oh my goodness where do I start? The cabin is BEAUTIFUL and so clean!! It’s newly renovated and literally a stone throw away from swimming and boating! The neighbors are super friendly and the neighborhood is so cute! You can make a bonfire, play games on the back deck, bbq or go enjoy a meal at nearby restaurants. We saw the most amazing sunsets. Catherine, the owner, is the sweetest host! She left a welcome package of s’more, chips, dip and candy! No detail was forgotten. The kitchen is fully stocked and the bed sheets were SO COMFORTABLE!! If July wasn’t booked I would have booked another stay for next week! You will not be sorry if you rent the yellow door cottage! It was truly a restful and tranquil experience!! My family can not wait to come back!!!

Open Water & Sunset Views!

Nice property with everything we needed to make our February stay tranquil and welcoming! Very relaxing atmosphere inside and out with extended water views and enjoying the amazing sunsets on the balcony swing. Great home & great kitchen for cooking! Full size washer and dryer was a plus! Would definitely come back here again!

Great lakefront home Livingston

We had a great weekend at this lovey lakefront home. The host provides everything (and more than) one needs to enjoy this property. We caught many catfish and carp right from the large dock. The beds and linens were very comfortable and pellets (for the pellet grill/smoker), wood for the fire pit, and games were abundant. We will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful house, awesome waterfront location, gorgeous sunsets

What a gem! Loved our stay here. Our kids (ages 8yo, 5yo, 1yo) had a great time - they loved the bunk bed room, especially since there were 2 sets of bunk beds so the older two got to each sleep on the top beds. Lots of activities with gear provided - we paddleboarded, played games on the back porch, grilled, firepit with smores, and did the rope swing into the lake. All the beds were very comfortable. The host was super responsive and provided nice little touches like a welcome basket. The kitchen was nicely stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc - we ate all meals at the house comfortably. The location is truly a gem, with the back porch looking right out onto the water and giving a perfect view of the amazing sunsets here. We hope to come back again!

Best Sunset

Stayed on Livingston many times. Rain or shine this property is great. Loved the covered porch and the dock the most. Neighbors are friendly but stuck to themselves which works for me. Boat launch next door is not busy or bothersome. Exactly what I needed for a nice quiet getaway! Thanks so much Catherine for the wonderful stay!

Wow! Yellow Door Cottage doesn’t disappoint!

What a great getaway! This newly renovated cottage is just a dream
 brand new everything with everything you need for some cozy family/friends fun! This house has the most AMAZING sunsets
 every night kayakers would make their way over to our spot on the lake for the best view. Whether you are enjoying the covered porch with rocking chairs and a porch swing OR you are sitting on the dock the sunsets will be one of the best part of this house! As Two families with teens, who slept in in their own bunk room we enjoyed the ability to cook at the house
 this kitchen has Everything you could think of
 chip clips, chop sticks
 Catherine has thought of it all!! We also visited the local Mexican restaurant and the local seafood restaurant
 both were awesome with excellent service. Everyone we met was so friendly and this was just the perfect long weekend getaway to grab some time with our teens before the head back to school. We spent our days fishing and floating at the dock. If you like to fish we caught plenty of catfish, bass & carp from the dock
 it kept the kids busy for hours. About 5 minutes away is niceboats.com, and the owner, Sam is wonderful. We rented a pontoon boat for day and spent time floating in Pine Island and tubing the lake. We will definitely be back this fall and next summer if Catherine will have us! Hopefully this recommendation won’t book you all up! Thank you again Catherine!

Summer Kick Off

Spectacular!! If we could give this property a 6th star we wouldn’t hesitate. Let me begin by saying since Marc’s job requires 100% travel and we stay in A LOT of places, our standards are very high. This yellow door cottage not only came with stunning views of the lake but the cottage itself was so cozy, I often had to peel myself off the couch to enjoy the amazing outdoor space. Marc spent much of the day fishing from the dock. During our stay, we did experience a combination of rainy AND sunny days. The large covered porch in the back allowed us to enjoy every day in comfort. We usually pack very well and during our visit we didn’t need to use much of what we brought. I would have to say that this may very well be the most well-equipped rental we’ve stayed in yet. The only negative thing I would have to say is that we weren’t able to book it for longer period of time!

Fathers Day 2021

From beginning to end the trip was absolutely amazing. Catherine is an excellent communicator and answered all our questions prior to the trip as well as when we were at the property. She sends a welcome letter with EVERYTHING you need too know which made it very convenient when packing and getting ready. The house is EXACTLY what the pictures show. Super clean!! All the kitchen gadgets, pots, cups, plates silverware etc that you could possibly want. Super cute welcome basket with stuff for smores and other goodies. We are a family of 6 ages 2-15 and this house was perfect for us. Master on one side and 2 extra bedrooms on the other. Fans in all rooms of the house. Super comfortable beds. The patio is gorgeous! Completely fenced in which was key with the little ones. There’s 2 rocking chairs and a porch swing. Ladder golf and a pellet grill. Smoked a pork butt and sat out and watched the sunset every night. The boys enjoyed the paddle board and kayak all weekend. The host provides an umbrella and chairs for the dock which made swimming nice and relaxing. There’s also a rope swing! Very quiet and peaceful. I booked the boys on a fishing charter which picked them and dropped them off right at the dock! Overall the location was perfect and the house was amazing. Made so many new memories. The hosts really go above and beyond!
