Cozy Cottage with spectacular salt water view / 3 Kayaks available/
This simple rustic cottage sits on the shore of the beautiful Medomak river in Bremen overlooking a real working waterfront where you can buy lobsters fresh off the boat. The bedroom has Queen size bed and there is a pull out couch in the main open area as well as another couch to sleep on. Perfect for a couple or with a child or two. There are four kayaks available for use down at our wharf which located directly in front of the cottage. This is a small commercial wharf where we buy lobsters directly from the local fishermen. The quaint village Damariscotta is a 15 minute drive away and it is only a 30 minute drive to Camden as well as Boothbay Harbor . Pemaquid Beach and Pemaquid Lighthouse as well as many other scenic sights are in the local area. There are many great places to hike in this area. A hiking guide is provided. The kitchen is fully equipped . There is a barbecue grill as well as a fire pit. The owner lives next door so anything that is needed can quickly be provided!
Melaneeâs cottage was the perfect getaway for the two of us. The cottage is cozy with a well equipped kitchen and wifi but the real selling point is the view of the water. Itâs a serene setting that affords a relaxing way to end each day. You will be an easy 10 minute drive from beautiful Damariscotta and all points down the peninsula are no more than 30 minutes away. Be sure to take in the views from the Pemaquid Point lighthouse! The cottage is also convenient to historic Waldoboro and all points on the coast, up Route 1. A very enjoyable stay.
The property is exactly like the pictures but better. The view is amazing, location is quite and comfortable. Easy access the many towns & hiking locations. Would stay again.
We had a great stay and enjoyed all the area had to offer. Weâd definitely consider staying here again and would recommend a stay at Melaneeâs cottage.
Exactly as described, but better.
Words canât describe waking up each morning and seeing the great view and watching the activities of a small lobster harbor.
Great location, comfortable bed.
Everything we needed.
A lovely little cottage with a nice view and kayaks available ( watch the rocks))
The owners john and Melanee were both extremely nice people!
Thank you!
We had a great time in a quiet cove. The owners were friendly and answered any questions we had. Itâs a quaint cabin that gives you the feel of staying on a boat. Loved it! Convenient location and beautiful.
The cabin was nice and cozy . It overlooked the bay and the working lobster boats. Very idyllic. The owner's dogs were friendly and enjoyed playing with my dog.
The neighborhood was safe and I enjoyed walking to the landing up the street.
Small, rustic and well-equipped cabin with phenomenal view of the water
The cabin is small but well-equipped, with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
The location is perfect for people who want to relax and enjoy the beauty of Maine.
The view of the lobster boats is amazing, and it is a great place to watch the sunrise or the sunset.
We love this place. It's rustic, as described, but the cottage has everything we need and more. The owner is terrific -- friendly and helpful and immediately responsive to the smallest question. The area is beautiful, the food options wonderful, and we'll probably be back if the owner will take us!
This is the best little cottage you could hope for - the pictures do not do this place justice! I spent every night in this cozy cottage grilling dinner and every morning and evening looking out at the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets. With working lobster boats in the water, this place could not be more idyllic. Fantastic hiking nearby, kayaks provided, and the most responsive and friendly host you could ask for. I loved my stay! Would definitely stay again.
Just what the doctor orderedâŠrelaxation, amazing views, dog friendlyâŠ
As describedâŠsimple, but outfitted with all you need. Very relaxingâŠbeautiful area, sites, and food.
Lobster right off the boat at The Wharf at bottom of front yard.
Dog had playmates and finding a rental where you can open the door and just let your canine run and swim was special.
Melanee and John were readily available to answer any questions.
Loved our stay.
I had an excellent visit. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and small appliances. Everything was super clean; magazines and books were available (as well as good WiFi). I never turned the tv on as the view was spectacular. I wasnât able to have an outdoor fire due to weather but everything was great. I hope to return. I look forward to doing more exploring as the area is beautiful. Also, very responsive with owners live next door. Thanks for offering up this quant little cabin for others to enjoy!!!!
Enjoyed watching the lobster boats and activities on Muscongus bay. Beautiful sunrises. Cottage was as described. Cozy and comfortable. The host was friendly but not interfering. Would recommend to friends and stay again. Thank you for a pleasant visit to Maine!
Cottage is rustic but clean in an amazing location. The view out to the boats moored in the water is one of a kind. We cooked all our meals in the kitchen and it worked well for us -- good sharp knives was a plus. Being able to walk down the dock and get the freshest lobsters possible for an excellent price was the highlight of our stay. Free access to kayaks was another nice amenity -- lots of coast to explore. The house is a little quirky (uneven floors and bathroom door is really a curtain), but that didn't detract from our enjoyment of this cottage in a picture perfect location.
We love cabins and stay in cabins all the time on vacation. we even own one of our own. here's what we loved about this one:
1. super comfy and well-equipped place.
2. toasty in the november (which is when we came.)
3. very responsive host.
4. such a fun area to poke around in, all within 60 minute drives. (check out the great hiking resource book at the cabin). bremen and bristol are such beautiful parts of maine. not as built up and mcmansiony as other parts of the state.
areas we especially loved: la verna preserve - amazing beautiful rocky coast hike ; pemaquid point when it's windy -- SO dramatic; ocean walk in boothbay; audobon hog island; kayaking in the back yard.
5. huge windows that face out on the water with such beautiful light, (the pictures on the website the site don't do it justice.)
6. fire pit.
be prepared for a a funky bathroom with no solid door between the bedroom. glad to hear melanee's planning on adding a ventilation system. that will make the cabin even more perfect.
we had a great time!
This was a great place to stay especially for my ADD husband who enjoyed watching all the lobster boats coming in and out as well as talking with the local men at the wharf. We had fun on the kayaks and also searching for lighthouses and going to museums! The cottage had a fully functioning kitchen so we were able to prepare all our own meals. The hostess was wonderful and immediately responded to any needs that we had and was very accomodating.
