Communication with the host was quick and thorough. The apartment itself was spotless and adorable: probably built mid-20th century. Even though clearly updated since then, a few original pieces remained, which lent character to the overall vibe. We liked the black tiled countertops and the oven door with its dials and light switch in the kitchen, plus the utility areaâs built-in, fold-down ironing board. The main bathroom was my favorite because of the wall-mounted storage unit above the vanity which reminded me of the one in my childhood home, as well as the built-in bathroom scale, and the pinky-peach tiles in the shower. The colors of interior paint and accessories in both bathrooms felt fresh and bright. The main bathroom colors cleverly reflected those found in the rock facade at the entrance to the complex. In contrast to both the fresh and vintage features was the eclectic style of furnishings, best described as mixed-design, second-hand, functional. Kitchen cookware was limited, and very well-used. The bedrooms were spacious, and the beds were comfortable. Pillows were flat and dense. Plenty of linens and towels.
Regarding the complex: the separate laundry facility was clean and contained one coin-op washing machine and dryer; the pool was also clean but unheated (refreshing!), and as one other reviewer mentioned, the chaise lounges were broken. We always found a parking spot right in front of the complex. We would stay here again.
