Unusual Handcrafted Vacation Caravan in the Wilderness of Kaikoura, New Zealand

This unusual vacation caravan is permanently parked on an organic farm on the outskirts of the town of Kaikoura, New Zealand, and sleeps two guests. The House Truck was handcrafted onto a 1940’s Bedford K series over an seven year period. There is a double bed on a platform above the driver's seat. At either side of the entrance, there are two rooms, one has a toilet and the other has a shower. Linens, towels, and toiletries are provided. Bathroom robes are provided in adult sizes and guests can purchase these from the host if they wish.



There is a compact kitchen in the center of the truck with a gas hob, an oven, a microwave, a rice cooker, and a fridge. The small lounge area in the center of the truck features a bench, a table, seat, a widescreen TV with a CD/DVD player, and a wood-burning fire with free firewood during the winter. Other amenities include an electric panel heater and hot water bottles. Outside, guests have access to a fully-equipped shared outdoor barbecue shelter, with a pizza oven.



Guests staying in this accommodation share certain outdoor facilities with guests staying in other accommodations on the property. These include a fully-equipped outdoor barbecue shelter with a gas barbecue, a gas oven, a hob, a sink, crockery, cutlery, and outdoor tables and chairs. Glampers will have exclusive access to the host's private collection of farm animals including llamas, pigs, alpaca, sheep, deer, ducks and chickens.



A continental breakfast is available for a small additional cost (booked directly in advance, or at check-in), and includes: a selection of breakfast cereals, a loaf of bread, butter, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, homemade jam, and seasonal fruit and farm-fresh eggs when available.
