Great place to stay
Great place to stay. All the comforts of home. Owner is very responsive. You can go hiking. Close to parks and elk.
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Cedarwood Lodge in the heart of the Moshannon State Forest....all part of the PA Wilds. The region is becoming a "must-see" for folks wanting to get away from it all. The elk herd has allowed a glimpse into wildlife that formerly people had to visit Yellowstone National Park to experience. The cabin is 2 miles from Parker Dam and S.B. Elliot State Parks and a scenic 20 mile drive along the Elk Scenic Route to the Elk Visitor's Center. Certainly there is something in every season for those who love getting out in the great outdoors. Thank you for staying at Cedarwood Lodge. Please come back again - we would love to have you!
The house was Amazing.. So peaceful

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay at Cedarwood Lodge. We do our best to supply everything needed so that guests can relax and feel at home. I'll let my assistant know you appreciated the cleanliness of the cabin. Thank you for your kind review - it is appreciated. I'd love for you to come back again any time! Best regards, Peggy
Secluded cabin, nice stay!
We came to the area to see the elk herd!
October was gorgeous
October is the optimum time to visit the PA Wilds - to view the wildlife and the fall foliage. The elk are most active this time of year. And the colors of leaves across the forested mountains is breathtaking. Thank you for choosing Cedarwood Lodge for your fall getaway!
Great weekend away
Cabin was very nice especially the loft bedroom! Short distance to drive to see and hear the elk. Great weekend!
It was a pleasure to have your group stay at the cabin this past weekend. The elk are a big draw and you picked the perfect time to view them. They are very active this time of year and the weather cooperated! I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. I've been told the Loft Bedroom with the "eyebrow" windows makes it feel like sleeping in a very comfortable tree house!
Thanks for choosing Cedarwood Lodge for your stay in the PA Wilds!
Very pleased and would rent it again. Peggy is great to deal with.
It was a pleasure to host you and your family. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. We love sharing our cabin with people coming to see the elk and explore our neck of the Pennsylvania Wilds!! You are welcome to come back any time - we hope you do! Thank you for submitting your review.
Be prepared for unexpected vistors....had a black bear enter the fire pit...
Great time to relaxing with my family...enjoyed hiking, elk sighting, fishing and roasting hotdogs, marshmellows, smores', and making mountain pies over the campfire. So warm and inviting.
Hi, Kim - WOW....we hadn't heard of a bear that close to the cabin for quite some time. Years ago before we started renting the cabin out, a bear broke into the screened-in porch where we had set a large covered plastic garbage can. The claw holes in the can nailed the culprit who carried it up the hill in the woods behind the cabin. Lesson learned!
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for sharing details. What fun! Outdoor adventures and comfort food cooked over the fire with the added bonus of a bear coming to call!
Thanks for choosing Cedarwood Lodge for your getaway. And for taking time to submit a review.
You are welcome to return any time!
