The building is new, secure, and the apartment was clean and well maintainedâgreat for women traveling to a wedding in Brazil. We chose an apartment so my mom could stay with myself, my sister and my niece instead of booking multiple hotel rooms. The host was responsive at first and provided detailed check-in info ahead of time. However, when we finally had time to use the pool, we were told it was for residents only. This was misleading since the pool was listed as an amenity and even included in the title, and it was a major reason we booked. After we sent a screenshot of it included in amenities, the host stopped responding. It didnât ruin our trip, but it was frustrating and not something Iâve ever experienced with a VRBO rental. The listing has since been updated to remove any mention of the pool. Even though we felt misled into renting this place, we still left the apartment spotless, aside from a few bags of trash, as links they provided to access the other areas of the property for garbage disposal never stayed active for more than about 12 hours, even after new ones were sent. Thankfully, access to the front door and the apartment itself was through a different system and still worked. We had to go purchase soap for hand washing in every room and detergent because each person gets one towel, laundry is required. If youâre vacationing in Brazil, Iâd recommend skipping this rental and just book a beachfront hotel with a poolâlike the rest of our family did.
