Neat as a pin home in a quiet friendly neighborhood. Was more like staying at a friend's place. Close to beaches and Naples. Loved the pool and lake views.

Hidden gem

We have vacationed in the area for 10+ years and this was by far the best home away from home. It is ideally located close to the beaches, shopping, great restaurants, yet tucked away in a quiet peaceful lakeside setting. Susan the owner is very responsive and Kevin the property manager is very helpful. Definitely a hidden gem.

Great location and perfect size!!

Couldn’t be more pleased with our stay here! We are a family with 4 young boys. They of course loved the pool and felt very much at home. Location is perfect...so close to Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, Marco Island etc!! Thank you for sharing your home. We hope to return in the future!

Very Comfortable Vacation Home

We very much enjoyed our 2 week stay at Casa Candlewood. The house is nicely decorated and has an open layout. The pool was enjoyable and the area has many birds, turtles etc. to add to the atmosphere. The neighborhood is very quiet and close to a nice beach. Property manager Kevin was available and responsive. We would recommend the home to others and hope to return ourselves.

good location easy access to all beaches and places

We stayed 14 days. Pool excellent. Accommodations nice. Needs a few more cooking items (pots & pans). A little sprucing up around pool area and some lounge chairs. It's rather difficult to lay out without them. Overall I would definitely stay again. I have already recommended to another friend. Owners easy to work with, answer emails promptly and their house manager was available when called.

As Advertised

The house is pretty much as advertised. The owner responded very quickly to any questions we had. the on site manager was prompt and easy to deal with. the house contained almost anything you might need. The fenced yard was perfect for our dog. The pool was very nice although we only used it once due to weather. The house is very centrally located for getting to Sanibel, Ft. Myers Beach and downtown Ft. Myers. Not sure if there are any fish in the lake. I found a lake nearby that I fished a couple times with good luck. Couple of small maintenance problems that did not effect our stay. We made the manager aware of them at the end of our stay. I would recommend this unit.

What a great experience!

The property was located right by everything, Sanibel Island, Fort Myers beaches and downtown area. Short drives to Naples, Punta Gorda and Bonita Springs. We've rented in Ft. Myers and Coral Gables area before and this location was by far the best. When we arrive the owners had their agent Kevin meet us and showed us around the property. I'm handicapped and Kevin helped remove my GoGo Cart and rack from my car. He also help me put it back on the car when we left. For sure above and beyond the call of duty! The house was well stocked with towels and linens, every thing you'd need . The heated pool was the big hit with us, our guest and family members who came down to visit while we were there. While the house was a little dated, it was squeaky clean. Susan, Kevin and Mark went out of there way to help make our stay a really fantastic one. We would definitely recommend the location to anyone and we may sign up for another visit next year, who know? Thank you so much Susan, Kevin and Mark!

Lake Candlewood

We had a great time at this house. Used the pool frequently, sat by the lake with a beverage in hand, played many card games at the dining room table. Went to Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, Bonche Beach, Key West, flea market, manatees and many restaurants. This house was a great base for a very active 2 weeks.

Pros and Cons

Overall this property was very good for several reasons: Pros: 1. Location. The property location was perfect for us as it was very close to the sanibel causeway, FM beach, restaurants, grocery shopping, etc. Plus, our relatives lived very close. 2. Nice pool. Owner has pool checked on a weekly basis. 3.Nice lakeview. 4. Easy to contact property manager. 5. Plenty of cooking and other kitchen utensils Cons: 1. We like to grill a lot when vacationing in FL. Grill was in bad shape and needs to be replaced. 2. Some of the pool furniture needs to be updated. Some of it is getting rusty due to FL salt air. Overall, good place.

Great time and location

Perfect property for our family and was great it was pet friendly with the fenced in yard to bring our dog. Great location minutes away from Sanibel and Ft Myers beach, yet in a much quieter neighborhood. Nice pool to relax at was a bonus with lots of wildlife to look at and watch from the pool deck. Very happy with our choice!

Great Family Vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our three-week stay at this very relaxing and comfortable home. The location is perfect - close to shopping, beaches, Spring Training - and we did it all! The grandkids loved the pool and on most days preferred it over the beach. The home is well equipped with beach needs (towels, chairs) and the kitchen has most essential items. We loved having the second refrigerator in the garage. Susan responded very quickly to our inquiries prior to booking and Kevin was very helpful when we arrived - showing us around and providing info on the area. We hope to return in the future. Wonderful Thanksgiving Week enjoying the outside inside!

This was the perfect spot for a Thanksgiving Week with a few family members. We loved the fact that the Lanai and pool were screened in so we could fully open the glass doors onto the Lanai. Needless to say we sat out on the Lanai or by the pool most of the time. We raised the temp just a bit in the pool so it was comfortable and "therapeutic". We were treated to a variety show of birds - eagles, egrets, herons, hawks, osprey, ducks, anhingas and a whole flock of white and glossy ibis. Thank you for the mini binoculars and the bird and wildlife books. We learned a lot about Florida birds. Fyi...there was a resident rabbit outside the fence and a HUGE Snapping turtle...we are talking 3ft or more...that hauled himself out on the bank to sun. The house was lovely and it was a comfort to have the fence with our dog. The only things I would suggest are a few more bath towels and wash cloths and a few more essentials in the kitchen such as baking sheets/pans, a few casserole dishes, a few larger non stick skillets, and a potato masher (the cordless mixer just didn't have enough charge). We did manage to cook a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner though! Thank you!!!

Great place to play and stay for our family.

This house was beautiful and nicely located. We were not far from many beaches, Sanibel, boating, fishing, and much more. Our family enjoyed the pool almost everyday. Our only complaint was that the kitchen wasn't stocked well to cook for a family. Overall great stay and wonderful memories made. Thank you Susan and Mark!

Wunderbar!!!

We had a wonderful week at the house. The place was very clean and had everything we needed. It was close to beaches and shopping. We enjoyed sitting on the porch, having barbecue and watching the birds. Having a pool was very convenient and the kids loved it. Susan and Kevin were very helpful and answered our questions right away. This was our first homeaway experience and we were more than happy with everything.

Casablanca de Candlewood

Casa de candlewood is a great place to stay. The location is close to beaches, restaurants, Sanibel, shopping, & entertainment. It is well decorated, clean & furnished. We enjoyed the view of the lake & the pool. We had our bicycles with. Great area to bike has & safe. Would recommend this place highly. Kevin who met us the 1st & last day was very nice & helpful.
