It had all the amenities needed for a very comfortable stay. Spotlessly clean and pleasant decor. Great communication from host. 1 minute walk to Boat Club that has great meals, service and views. I highly recommend and will be staying again in the future when visiting family

Overall a good stay, the windows are just overlapping glass slats and that allowed a lot of humid air in and was not efficient for maintaining a controlled environment. The AC unit did work well though. Also the windows do not create an efficient sound barrier to outside. If you area light sleeper, this maynot be the place for you. There's a fair amount of airplane traffic. Also the birds are so loud and sound like they are in the room with you. There were also a few little bugs that could get in through the cracks in the windows and doors; however the friendly little house spiders took care of them and it was not a significant issue. The town is amazing as it is a tiny community with a short walk to a very nice beach and a great little pub called the Ten 06 right across from the beach. There are very few tourists in the area which is nice. It's a good alternative to staying in Cairns for sure. Also, close to the airport.

Thank you for your feedback and for highlighting what you enjoyed about Yorkeys Knob and the surrounding area. For future guests, the apartment has Queensland-style louvred windows, specifically designed for our tropical climate to provide ventilation while keeping rain out. As they are not sealed double-glazed windows so they naturally provide less sound insulation. As stated in our listing, we would not recommend the apartment for very light sleepers. Also mentioned in our listing, we have regular pest control to keep tropical insects and other visitors to a minimum, although some are naturally part of living in the tropics. I also noticed after checkout that the kitchen windows had been left open, despite our checkout instructions asking guests to close them. This makes it easier for insects to enter and works against the measures we take to minimise them. We would have been happy to assist with any concerns during your stay, but unfortunately received no communication, so we weren't given the opportunity to address them at the time. Our host Stephanie was very welcoming upon arrival. The one bedroom studio apartment was nicely designed and very comfortable. It contained everything we needed for our 1 week stay in Cairns.

This is a perfect studio in a close to the beach setting. We were able to walk to the beach, local market,coffee shop,bakery and some local restaurants. While Yorkeys Knob Beach is a calm community, ideal for rest and relaxation, it is also nicely located for exploring the near by Rain Forest and the Great Barrier Reef. When we revisit this area we hope stay here again.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

As ocean lovers, we appreciate Yorkeys Knob for its relaxed lifestyle and strong sense of community. Unlike some of the busier tourist areas around Cairns, Yorkeys has retained its local character and remains one of the region's most untouched beachside suburbs.

One of the things that surprises many visitors is how friendly the community is. Take a stroll along the esplanade, and a simple smile can easily lead to a conversation with a local. It's the kind of place where people still greet each other and take the time to say hello.

What we enjoy most is being so close to the beach and marina. Whether it's heading out for a day on the reef, fishing, sailing, sea kayaking, or simply enjoying a walk along the waterfront, the ocean is part of everyday life here.

Yorkeys is where locals gather to enjoy the beach, launch their boats, walk their dogs, and catch spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Despite being only a short drive from Cairns, it feels quieter, more laid-back, and far removed from the crowds.

For us, Yorkeys Knob offers the perfect blend of tropical beach life, community spirit, and easy access to the Great Barrier Reef and everything Far North Queensland has to offer.

This property is truly a labour of love. Rather than undertaking a standard renovation, we have carefully renovated the entire complex ourselves, preserving its original character while updating the interiors with modern comforts and finishes.

Our goal has been to retain the charm and relaxed feel of a classic Cairns beachside property while creating a comfortable space for today's traveller.

Unlike large apartment complexes or purpose-built holiday accommodation, our small complex of just four studios offers a more personal and authentic experience. We continue to improve and enhance the property ourselves, taking pride in creating a place where we would genuinely enjoy staying.

The highlight of this particular studio is its Santorini-inspired décor. The fresh white palette, Mediterranean touches, and relaxed coastal feel create the impression that you've stepped onto a Greek island, right here in tropical North Queensland.

The balcony is another guest favourite. Thanks to its orientation, many evenings are treated to spectacular sunsets, with the sky glowing in shades of purple, red, orange, and pink, creating the perfect setting to unwind with a drink after a day exploring the reef and surrounding region.

We're also creating a tropical edible garden throughout the property, with a growing collection of fruit trees. Depending on the season, guests are welcome to pick and enjoy fresh tropical fruits straight from the garden, adding a genuine taste of the tropics to their stay.
