Wonderful spring break

The house and location were perfect for our family of 4, and a friend’s family of four. The children (10,10,8,6) fit nicely in the bunk room- sharing the queen beds. Conveniently located across the street from the beach. Pool was perfect, and house had all the amenities needed!

Literally steps away from the beach

Beautiful clean property with nice pool and grilling area. Just a suggestion, it would have been nice to have a cart or wagon to take things to the beach. Everyone had to carry multiple items. Also, bikes were advertised and we were all looking forward to them. No bikes on property. Overall wonderful place would definitely stay again.

Checking in

We were given the incorrect code for entry on the day of our arrival. We had to call multiple times over the course of an hour before getting ahold of someone. The pool was also not heated to the advertised 86°F, but this was corrected and we were able to enjoy the pool. The home was beautiful and great access to the beach.

Family Vacation

Overall the property was great. Modern, clean, good amenities including bikes, beach supplies etc. The beach access was great and it is walkable to Times Square. The pool heater was turned off and while the owner was was responsive it did take a few days to warm up. The pool area was great with a wealth of seating options and even an outdoor TV (although cable would have been preferable over Roku TV which requires log ins to various streaming services for most relevant programing) The neighborhood is still recovering from the hurricane so there are vacant lots, debris and a significant amount of ongoing construction. All of this is beyond the control of the property owner and will likely improve over time. The design of the home works very well for an extended family.

Family Getaway

Overall, our stay at Steps Away was excellent. The host was very attentive and answered our questions in a timely manner. The location of the home is great as it’s close to the beach and within a short walk to bars and restaurants. Unfortunately, due to the hurricane a year prior, construction was being done on the house next door, as well as across the street. This caused a lot of excessive noice and traffic. It’s obviously not the fault of the property owners, but was definitely a distraction. In addition, the large grill in the picture was replaced with a far inferior one. There are also only 2 adult bikes which was a disappointment since we looked forward to 4 bikes available. The pool was supposed to be heated and cleaned, but due to impending rain on the weekend, it wasn’t attended to until Monday (3 days into our stay). There were plenty of bath/beach towels, kitchen supplies, and the beds were very comfortable. I would say that overall, Steps Away was a great vacation destination and as the area recovers from Hurricane Ian, it will continue to improve.

Everyone happy

This stay was a 2 parter - 1 week with my girlfriends and the 1 week with my adult sons. We wanted something close to restaurants and the beach and Steps Away was the perfect match. The house was wonderfully stocked and we wanted for nothing. We had movie nights, played cards and appreciated the Yatzhee game as well. Definitely would stay here again when in Ft. Myers!
