Great place to stay with our dog for the night with the big paddock for her to run around in our back. Very tidy and hosts kindly provided some breakfast foods. Would stay here again.
We had a lovely stay at this property. It has everything you need and the views were so beautiful! The host was really nice and communication was easy. Great weekend away!
This chalet was so cozy! The scenery is absolutely beautiful and you have your own private patio with a couch, table, and chairs. Eating breakfast there was wonderful. Sarah also provided eggs, bread, milk, coffee, and orange juice. It was so sweet and tasted so good after weeks of travelling. Such a thoughtful addition that makes this place stand out. There were quite a few spiders and a few bugs, but that is to be expected considering you're on a farm. But, overall, this is such a peaceful stay. And, if you're going to Hobbiton, you will LOVE all of the Lord of the Rings decor. It really gets you in the spirit! If you arrive at night, note her outdoor area had no lights so slow down near the spot on the GPS. There is a gate!! (I missed it twice my first night arriving.)But enjoy the silence. You'll get such a deep sleep!
Came down to run the Hobbiton half marathon. Found the most beautiful place to stay. So warm and inviting. Loved it so much, want to stay again and bring my sister from Australia for a visit. Was so nice. Thanks so much Sarah.
Absolutely superb. The cottage had everything you could think of and wish for - and more. The location was excellent. The presentation and cleanliness is world class (seriously - I've not encountered better in many travels) We will return and highly recommend it to friends and relatives. Well done
Fantastic little chalet. Couldnât ask for more. Even the dog was super relaxed. More relaxing than home. Very well presented. Beautiful spot. Breakfast food being supplied was above and beyond. Thank you so much for providing a dog friendly Bach that is way above average and caters to the comfort of the dogs parents as well. Will highly recommend to all.
This is the 2nd year we have stayed at Chalet in the Shire and it is still every bit as wonderful as our first time was. One the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on, clean and comfortable, a huge fenced grass paddock for the pooch to frolic in, plus breakfast items consisting of eggs, toast, jam, muesli, milk and fruit juice are stocked in the chalet upon arrival. The ice tray was full and a jug of cold water in the fridge ready to drink. It's this extra care that will keep us going back for years to come still. Thanks again Sarah.
Unfortunately bookabach had added distances that were incorrect and affected our stay. Sarah was very kind and offered to refund but given Maadi week we had no options. Sarah was a great host with a great property.
The chalet was idyllic the setting was so tranquil. It was the perfect getaway to recharge. We traveled with our dog and it was an ideal spot with a lovely paddock for exercise. Sarah was so thoughtful with the breakfast . Will definitely return.
This was our second stay at the Chalet in the Shire. Always spotless, has the essentials, cosy and warm, breakfast provided, privacy, easy check in. Perfect for the dog.
Fantastic stay, cozy cottage lovely and warm. Very handy to town. We would thoroughly recommend it Sarah and her husband very accommodating lovely couple.
We had a wonderful stay! The space was private, peaceful, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. Our dogs were warmly welcomed with their own beds and toys, which they really appreciatedâitâs not always easy to find truly dog-friendly places. Our bed was super comfy, and we loved the thoughtful touches like the breakfast supplies. Everything was clean, cozy, and just as described. Would definitely stay again!
I work full time at the local school dental clinic, have been married for 27 years and have two children who are pursuing their own careers now. I have two well mannered but excitable dogs who are kept away and under supervision while guests are staying.
