Great location

The town of Takapuna is a fun area to stay in because of all the restaurants and shops within walking distance plus only a 10 to 15 minute drive to downtown Auckland. And this home is located in a great spot to be able to walk less than a block to be on the beach or 2 blocks to be at the restaurants and shops. Owners were very responsive and good to work with during our stay.

Our guests were very gracious in light of a water pipe issue which ‘sprung a leak’ during their stay. We were able to respond quickly but was still an inconvenience and we appreciated their patience. We’re glad they were still able to enjoy this wonderful area of Auckland.

Beautiful Home, Beautiful Location

I spent 2 nights with my family after a long flight from the United States. This home was perfect. Close to the beach for peaceful walks. Walking distance to great food. The hosts were responsive. The hot tub was perfect for achy muscles. I wish we stayed longer!

Great Location

The home was very nice , plenty of room, great backyard, fully equipped and just as described. Working with the owners was easy and pleasant. Plenty of space to park. The best part is the location. Great neighborhood, easy walk to the beach and town with great restaurants. Short easy drive to CBD Auckland or a quick ferry ride. Looking forward to coming back!

I would probably say this sleep 5 comfortably.

I would probably say this sleep 5 comfortably. There were 8 of us and we ended up buying two camp beds to sleep us just given the bedding situation. The upstairs couch bed is pretty firm so I would suggest taking another foam mattress for that also. Lovely place though and a lovely spot that was within walking distance to the Bruce Mason Centre and Takapuna shops.

The house has 3 double beds, and yes although the pull out sofa bed is firm it does sleep two (my husband and I have slept on it ourselves). We provided you with a single foam mattress, and as we discussed you were more than welcome to bring extra mattresses if you needed them. You left the house unsecure, leaving 2 downstairs windows wide open (and we were away overseas) so this was not acceptable. You also left a kitchen window wide open - and Auckland has had very heavy rain all week.

Rest, Relax, renew

Our family enjoyed every single minute of our stay at Marilyn and Mark’s place. It was just what we wanted to rest, relax and renew for the next year ahead. I would love to stay here again. Thanks Marilyn and Mark for being great hosts.

Large house in a great beach location

We enjoyed staying at this large beach house. There was plenty of room for the four of us to spread out and relax. The views were amazing and the beach was just steps away. Lots of nice restaurants nearby, including grocery stores in walking distance. Short trip into the city center as well. We had a great stay!

Overall the accomadation suited us perfectly.

Overall the accomadation suited us perfectly. There was plenty of space for all 5 of us and every amenity we needed. This is a beautiful family home with a relaxed vibe that added to the comfortable feel. Some of the appliances in the kitchen were a little worn, but as there are so many restaurants/ shops/ cafes in walking distance this was never a problem. The short walk to the beach is a definite bonus.

It was fabulous.

It was fabulous. Very clean, comfortable, you really felt like you were in your own home and the view from the kitchen out across the water was lovely. Next time hopefully the weather will be better so we can sit on the balcony. 5 min walking distance to Takapuna central. Would definitely stay again.
