120 yr old home recently renovated in 2020. 30 minutes from Watkins Glen. Thoughtfully furnished with modern contemporary finishes. Open floor plan kitchen and living room area. Privacy and serenity on a tree lined block. Walk to the Corning Glass Museum or to Market St for a bite to eat. Close to amazing hiking and dining options but made for lounging relaxing and connecting. Great place to stay for the annual Wineglass marathon and for anyone visiting Watkins Glen
The house is so cozy and welcoming. The front porch is great to sit on in the evening with glass of wine and the beds are super comfortable. The house is very close to the Corning Museum you could walk there if you wanted to. Don was very prompt with his answers to you questions. I would recommend this house and would book again if I come back to the area .
We had a great time on a holiday weekend in Corning. The house was conveniently located near the museums, restaurants, and fireworks. Nice house, comfortable beds, clean and had everything we needed.
Overall, we were satisfied with our choice of Modern Cozy Upstate Getaway, However, it was originally renovated in 2020 and five years later it seems to need a bit of a refresh. Many of the attention to detail mentioned in the 5 star reviews (cleanliness, tea, snacks, communication) were not what we encountered. It felt as if either no one had been there for a long time or it was a rush job to prepare for our visit. Nevertheless, the home is about a half mile from the Corning Museum (our main reason for visiting) and a mile from Market Street which can be reached via a pedestrian bridge.A couple of pointers and some positives:The âmovie roomâ was disappointingly very small ( the photos make it look way more spacious than it is!) and there was no apparent way to heat or cool the room. Use the VRBO app to communicate with the owner since using the phone number posted in the house was not successful. And while the age of the home gives it its charm, please be aware the floors are quite uneven in several places and the stairs to the movie room are steep and narrow. Connecting the kitchen to the living room there is a slant of wood floor of about 8 inches, easy to slip down. Just an FYI.The kitchen was stocked with enough pots and utensils to adequately prepare meals. And we really appreciated the generous number of towels that were provided. Parking in the back was very convenient. All in all, this property was okay for our 3 night stay.
This rental was perfect for our trip to NY. We were in walking distance to the Corning Museum of Glass and restaurants. It was a short drive to Watkins Glen where we had a great hike on the trails. Easy check in/out. Responsive host. Overall a good time.
Couldn't be happier with our stay in Corning. This charming place truly delivered on everything as advertised, and provided us with a cozy home away from home vibe. We especially enjoyed being able to spend time in the evenings relaxing in the she-shed or by the firepit in the backyard; And the proximity to the Museums and Market Street's stores and restaurants was ideal. to the Museums and Market Street.
The apartment was very clean, just as listed. It was the perfect quiet place for me to get some writing done. Thank you for hosting! I will book again.
I brought my best friend to Corning to visit the glass museum. This house was a short five minute walk from the museum. We felt safe in the neighborhood and all of Corning. Having an off street parking spot was very beneficial with the alternating side parking on the street. This quaint older home was very comfortable for two adults. Our host provided anything we would need in the kitchen and laundry. Bedding was comfortable and crisp white. Our host was responsive to the one issue we encountered. Don took excellent care of us during our stay with great communication!
Clean, quiet and close to everything. Provided all that we needed. Very comfortable beds! Nice touches throughout. Easy to communicate with owner. Perfect for our needs.
The property is as described. Roomy for 2 of us. Everything is clean. It is an older home with character but is updated and modernly furnished. The TV room in the basement is great for stretching out. Don was very responsive to the one concern we had during our stay and resolved it immediately.
When renting the property you get the first floor and basement of an older home that was restored in 2020. It was very quiet and comfortable! Cute decorations and easy check in. We would not change a thing!
The apartment is even nicer than the pictures. We especially enjoyed the shower/large bathroom and TV room. Itâs in a great location, we walked to the museum and downtown.
The property was a very short walk to the Corning museum. From there you could take a shuttle to the historic section/Market Street. It was a short drive to Watkins Glen. The property itself was clean and bright. The bed was comfortable and the linens/ towels were in great condition. We were able to enjoy the backyard and the off street parking was an added perk. The host was responsive and checked in a few times during our 3 night stay to ensure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this property and would stay here again.
Very clean and easy short walk to glass museum.
Air conditioning kept the place cool and nice movie theater room in basement.
Would definitely stay here again.
We were a group of 4 people. All of us felt comfortable and loved the cleanliness of the unit. The size is just enough for 4 people. The kitchen is adequately furnished and Don had stocked it up with basic supplies. The bathroom was clean. Overall, we had a pleasant experience. The host was great and stayed in touch throughout.
We came to see the Museums, and LOVED how close we were to everything. The house is beautiful, and the kids loved the built in bunkbed in one of the bedrooms. It was super easy to check in and the owner is super responsive with any questions you might have.
Cannot say enough good things about this charming apartment! Very comfortable for our family of 4. Comfy beds, comfy living room. Well-equipped kitchen. Squeaky clean bathroom. Best of all, though, it is a quick walk to the Corning Museum of Glass, where we spent an amazing day. And if it hadnât been raining for our entire vacation, we would have loved to walk over the pedestrian bridge to town for dinner / shopping. We visited in December (plus, that never ending rain!), so did not take advantage of the lovely porch or backyard, but can see how that would be great fun.
Without a doubt the quietest setting we have ever rented in! We never heard a peep from any neighbors. Don's beds and linens are so comfy. Convenient drive to downtown and Watkins Glen. Best Burgers EVER at Mooney's. We cannot wait to return!
Husband and wife team committed to creating spaces for friends and family to make memories. We are local and take pride in providing quality accomodations. We live in Corning and are happy to provide recommendations for our favorite restaurants.
Home comes equipped with a 11 piece stainless steel cookware set. We maintain very high standards with our cleaning regimen. Guest satisfaction is of utmost importance. You will have 24/7 access to owner during your stay.
Modern design aesthetic. 5 minute walk to Corning Museum of Glass. World's largest glass museum. 5 minute car drive to market street's restaurant scene. Home is located on a quiet tree lined block.
