Fish Hook Cove on Lake Superior. Enjoy Grand Marais, Lutsen & the North Shore!
Welcome to Fish Hook Cove! Ideally located on Cascade Beach Road halfway between Lutsen and Grand Marais, this vintage 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom cabin was built in 1938 and updated in 2019 to add modern conveniences to this quaint retreat's original charm and character. A large wood burning fireplace constructed from hand- picked stones from the propertyâs stunning shoreline is the focal point of this comfortable cottage that sleeps four. Recent updates include: fully remodeled bathrooms and kitchen complete with all new appliances, including a dishwasher, an expansive multi-level deck modeled after the original deck built in the 1930's. Adding to the historical significance of this vintage cabin is the re-use of white pine harvested from the Old Globe Grain Elevator in Superior, Wisconsin. Half of the cabin's interior walls, along with several meticulously hand- crafted pieces of furniture, use the nearly 200 year old Old Globe Elevator white pine - check out the many Old Globe Elevator photographs framed with Old Globe white pine. The cozy cabin is only half of the story. This stunning lake shore property includes a winding path to a wooden foot bridge across a private cove leading to a meandering massive ledge rock shoreline. Fish Hook Cove is the perfect mix of unmatched lake views, dramatic accessible shoreline, comfort, and vintage charm.
Cozy and peaceful setting to enjoy fall on the North Shore! Great location between Lutsen and Grand Marais if you want to eat out, but well stocked with a great kitchen and outdoor deck with grill or campfire if you prefer to stay in like we do. Another great stay!
Absolutely stunning property. Such a perfect peaceful setting for a special weekend. Everything we needed was provided. Fun exploring the rocks. Beautifully lit up at night.
Our stay was so lovely. The view is beautiful and there were several extra touches provided like firewood and fresh drinking water. The perfect spot for a week of hiking and sitting by the water. We booked again for next year!
This was our second stay at Fishhook Cove. It is such a magical place. The cabin is charming and well-appointed. It has everything our family could need. The main highlight of the property, I think, is the massive amount of accessible ledgerock shoreline and its unique little cove.
Beautifully appointed rustic cabin that was comfortable and fully equipped. The stone fireplace made it cozy at night and the view was gorgeous overlooking the water and shoreline. The huge deck was perfect for relaxing and a great place to sit around the fire pit and enjoy the view with wine and snacks.Could not have asked for a better place!
This cabin was absolutely incredible. We would definitely stay again. The beds were very comfortable and the attention to details to accommodate guests were better than other places we have stayed. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed for home cooking. The views and grounds are enough to make us want to go back. Would definitely recommend.
Our family loved this cabin and location. The cabin was extremely comfortable and well outfitted. The location provided beautiful views, some water access and a very convenient jumping off point for exploring the area. We had a heat issue but the property manager was super responsive and agreed to a nice workaround. We highly recommend the property!
Love this place so much we never want to leave. Like a fairy tale north shore cabin. So many cool places up here but donât think anything can top this.
Great cabin, cozy and comfortable with wonderful views of Lake Superior and a unique bedrock view with waves crashing. We had a relaxing and peaceful stay.
Incredible use of the property to highlight the natural beauty, exceptionally good, solid construction of steps to the lake and bridge over the creek. Very nice lighting as well -- it's like a dreamscape at night. Cabin is very pleasant, small, but we knew that going into our trip. Otherwise, good updates that seem congruent to the feel of the cabin. Only suggestion of consequence would be to explain what some of the devices are in the cabin. Not sure of what some of them were.
We loved staying at this little gem on the rocky shores of Lake Superior. The view was fabulous and the cabin cozy. We had everything we could want and hope to come again next year.
Who doesn't appreciate a historic property respectfully and thoughtfully being brought back to modern day life. It still maintains the charms of the era it was built yet you'll be able to enjoy the luxuries that we've become used to and spoiled by. Feel free to stay connected or unplug and simply relax to the comforts that the outdoors, woods and water has to offer. Please note that there is not a TV here...all the more reason to consider disconnecting from some technology while staying!
Private, quiet and extremely unique in the shoreline itself. The bridge and the cove are very uncommon and highly prized! The thought that went into the design, the amenities and the smallest of details is outstanding.
